Central Slurry SystemPSI’s new 915 and redesigned 913 Central Slurry Systems consolidate polish slurry for both conventional and digital polishing machines. New tankbaffleprovidesbetterpolishflowwhile thenewstainless steelcooling coil provides long-term durability against corrosion. Drain Valve is used to empty the slurry that cannot be pumped from the bottom of the reservoir during cleaning. Eliminates tank tipping and sopping up slurry with rags.

Agitation of polish every morning is easily accomplished by closing the Mainline Valve and opening the Vertical Bypass Valve. This does two things: mixes the polish that has settled overnightandkeepsyourfilterbagfromloadingwithsolidsthatwillreduceBaumé.

Wastewater is drained into the portable tank of thePanHandler.PanHandlerAdditive(asettlingagent)orCadCon(seepage47)isadded. The wastewater is left to settle 4-8 hours, overnight is best. Then the liquid ispumpedintothestationarytankthrougha5micronstringfilterandoutthedrain.Theremainingsolidsarepumpedintothestationarytankandintoaclothfilterbag.The bag is left to dry and then tied and disposed of with the solid waste. “We were visited by two representatives of our wastewater treatment facility. I was informed that a sample of our wastewater had been sent for laboratory testing and showed a total suspended solids (TSS) rating of 2492 and a biological oxygen demand (BOD) rating of 1920. These ratings were extremely high and would result in a reclassi�cation of our wastewater resulting in an increase in our sewer bill by 10 to 15 times (not percent times!). I phoned PSI for help.
