Employer Analytics Dashboard and Reporting

The b-Hive OnlineLearning Platform

Pre Registration Blended Learning Programmes

Over the coming months, we will be launching a ground-breaking way of tracking the progress of your learners. Our Employer Analytics Dashboard is a portal for training teams, regional coordinators and pharmacy managers to easily filter and view progress / course completions of learners via both a reporting list view and a visual chart view. This dashboard will give up to date information in moments, saving time across your organisation.

Of course, if you need, we will be able to provide you with a completely comprehensive monthly report, bespoke to your requirements.

The system will interact with our e-portfolio system, combining data from both apprenticeship programmes and equivalent non-funded courses.

The b-Hive (short for the ‘Buttercups Hive’) is our online learning platform where course experiences are designed and delivered. The b-Hive allows us to deliver highly accessible and interactive courses using the latest web technologies to adapt to any device.

Through the b-Hive dashboard, learners can view their current and completed courses, monitor their progress, receive messages and notifications and be awarded digital badges (achievements) through which they can download a certificate for completing learning activities or assessments.

Our unique ‘Blended Learning’ programmes provide comprehensive training and support for trainees from before the pre-reg year begins until the day they qualify. Key features include:

7 face-to-face study days Mock exam and review Revision planning with a ‘mapped’ GPhC exam framework First Aid accreditation Comprehensive online training Interactive webinar tutorials A dedicated Buttercups pharmacist tutor for every programme

Apprenticeship Information

Buttercups 2015 - 16 success ratesOverall 82.5%

Timely 82.5%

National average 67.4%

Buttercups has been successfully delivering apprenticeship programmes since 2007 and, in that time, has trained over 2,300 apprentices.

As the specialist in Pharmacy Services apprenticeships, articles by Buttercups have been featured in both Chemist + Druggist, and The Pharmaceutical Journal.

“I was extremely impressed with the level of service and training provided by Buttercups, as it brought out the best in

[my staff member] and therefore would definitely recommend to other staff and colleagues. We would choose no other provider

over Buttercups. Thank you for all your support”Nelson Pharmacy

“when the apprenticeship is achieved the apprentice should remain with you, where a job opportunity continues to exist and where the apprentice wishes to remain with you. Where this is not possible, you and the provider must support the apprentice to seek alternative opportunities”. Considering this, fixed term contracts are not workable under the apprenticeship levy. Where a permanent contract is not possible, a fixed term apprenticeship contract can be accepted, under the proviso that you will provide a written agreement stating that the post will be converted to permanent contract on successful completion of the programme, unless there are exceptional circumstances

“off-the-job training [20% of total working hours] is defined as learning which is undertaken outside of the normal day-to-day working environment and leads towards the

achievement of the apprenticeship”. Buttercups provides training plans to ensure that we can evidence that the apprentices spend at least 20% of their paid working hours on off-the-job training. Off-the-job training does not include work towards any Functional Skills in Maths and English courses, however, you must allow the apprentice time to work on these courses within their working hours in addition

“[apprentices] must not be asked to contribute financially to the direct cost of training, on programme or end-point assessment. This includes both where the individual has completed the programme successfully or left the programme early. Direct costs include any co-investment or additional training and assessment costs above the funding band that the employer has paid directly to the training provider where this is part of the agreed apprenticeship”. This is

where selecting the best candidates and building strong professional relationships will really count towards the apprentice growing within your organisation

The data in the digital account must match the data we submit to the government. Appointing apprenticeship levy contacts within both organisations will ensure strong communication channels, to confirm exact data is input to both systems (including start dates, withdrawal dates and break in learning dates)

Where under 18s, or apprentices from any other at-risk group are being employed, we will need to undertake a risk assessment to ensure the safeguarding of the learner. We must also promote ‘British Values’ to apprentices, and make them aware of the government’s Prevent strategy (or any other anti-radicalisation strategy which may succeed this)

Safeguarding, Prevent and British ValuesButtercups Training is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners and expects all staff and learners to share this commitment.

Buttercups Training’s Safeguarding Policy applies to all of our learners and in particular learners who are children (under the age of 18) or adults with additional needs. The key objectives of the Policy are to:1. Promote a safe environment for all our learners to learn and achieve2. Actively promote the welfare of learners3. Identify any learners who may be experiencing abuse or harm in the workplace.

All staff at Buttercups Training have a duty to identify any learners who may be experiencing abuse or harm in the workplace, at home, through online computer networks or in relationships, and take appropriate action to ensure their safety.

Radicalisation is the process by which people begin to support terrorism and in some cases, participate in the activities of terrorist groups. The process of radicalisation

is different for every individual and can take place over an extended period, or within a short period of time.

Extremism is vocal or active opposition to fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, liberty and free speech, and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.

Buttercups Training has a duty to safeguard our learners and apprentices. The ‘Prevent Duty’ is being used within safeguarding to ensure young people are

kept safe and within the law.

WHAT ARE BRITISH VALUES?According to Government guidance they are:

Democracy The rule of law Individual liberty Mutual respect for and tolerance of, those with

different faiths and beliefs, and for those without faith

BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

DEMOCRACYLearners are encouraged to voice their opinions through discussions and activities during their apprenticeship, enabling them to have a wider understanding of subjects in a safe environment. We encourage learners to view their role in the wider picture, highlighting that their views count, respect each other’s opinions and values and talk about their feelings. We encourage democracy in action and learners sharing views. They will be given opportunities to develop enquiring minds, where questions are valued and differences respected.

RULE OF LAW Everyone encounters rules and laws throughout their lives. Buttercups learners will understand that

whether these laws govern their learning, their neighbourhood or the country, they are set for good reason and must be adhered to. Learners understand rules and guidelines, from health and safety and dispensary regulations to an acknowledgement of the wider laws and expectations that bind our society.

INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY We encourage a warm, positive and inclusive culture in our organisation, so learners feel safe. We encourage choice and freedom. Debate is valued in our assessment and training to ensure learners are able to have freedom of speech to voice their opinions. We promote values of freedom of choice and difference.

MUTUAL RESPECT & TOLERANCE is at the core of our organisation. Learners treat each other and staff with respect. We promote mutual respect and differences between individuals. Buttercups fosters good relations via disability awareness, equality and diversity training and in tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Tolerance through knowledge and understanding helps learners to become respectful citizens who can build a better society.
