Proverbs 14:31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoreth Him hath mercy on the poor.

To oppress can mean violence against, but it can also mean to deceive, take advantage of, or use.

If we honor God, we will have mercy on the poor.

32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death. (NIV) 32 When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge.

The wicked may seem to do well in this life, especially in good times.

But when it comes time to

die:

Psalm 37 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in His Way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with His Hand. 25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known. (NIV) 33 Wisdom reposes in the heart of the discerning and even among fools she lets herself be known.

Wisdom is available unto everyone; It is our response to Wisdom that determines

the road our lives will take.

Proverbs 1 20 Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: 24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Hear and heed the Voice of Wisdom.

34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

"In God we trust" first appeared on U.S. coins in 1864 and has appeared on paper currency since 1957. Some secularists object to its use.

Washington’s Farewell Address neatly summarized, “Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensible supports.”

35 The king's favor is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

Whether he’s the ruler of a nation or the owner of a business, any man of authority favors wise servants.

People who live by the Word of God are always beneficial to their society and culture.
