Proverbs 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

Diligent = eager determination

This is speaking of the way we live our lives.

We can be in charge of our lives, if we are eagerly determined to take control of ourselves.

Self is the biggest problem anyone has.

Laziness leaves us under all our circumstances.

Temperance or self-control is the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

If we habitually lack self-control,the answer is to submit unto God’s Spirit.

Begin each morning with prayer and worship, and Bible study.

And ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit, and to produce in you the fruit of His Spirit.

Galatians 5 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Now we all lack self-control or temperance about some things some times.

But as we submit to God’s Word and Spirit, we can do right more and more of the time.

Romans 8 9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

In other words, when we belong to the Lord, His Spirit dwells in us forever.

We simply submit -- consciously and willfully --

Unto our Lord.

Daily, through the day.

2 Corinthians 5 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

Reconciliation is to restore the relationship. So, we see that as we are diligent to maintain our

relationship and fellowship with the Lord,

We can rise above our circumstances and be in charge of every aspect of our lifes.

25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

Anxiety or worry will bring a person down.

You can’t worry and be happy.

Give a kind word to such a person.

Never fuss at them for their fault.

26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbor: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

(NIV) 26 A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

People going on the wrong path don’t care who goes with them.

They just plunge headlong into trouble.

But the righteous look ahead and see the potential results of hanging with the wrong crowd,

and going the wrong way.

27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

Take care of God’s

provision.

28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Romans 6 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 10 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I (Jesus) am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Good life, rich life, fulfilling life,Only comes through a close relationship

and fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
