SELECTIO N CRITERIA FOR UG & PG PROGRAMM ES:

Eligible cand idates will have to und ergo an All Ind ia Selection Test (AIST) that consists of a Written Examination, G roup Discussion / Desig n Aptitud e Test &

Personal Interview. Written examination will be conducted on 10th, 11 th and 12th June 2011 in multiple sessions.

Candidates may have option to choose the date according to their convenience. Written examination will

or Hindi as a medium for All India selection test (AIST).

GUIDELINE FOR ADMISSION

Candidates are required to give 4 choices in the application form in order o f their preference for examination centre from the above mentioned list. FDDI would

allot exam centre as per availability. No request for change of d ate and exam centre would be entertained. The allotment of centre of examination a nd date will

be given on first come first serve basis. While deciding centre and da te of examination choice filled up in the form will be given preference. FDDI reserves right to

add or cancel the exam centers listed above.

Admit card bearing the address of exam centre and date of exam for written examination will be sent to the candidates in the fourth week of May 2011.

Candidates not receiving the admit card by 06th June 2011 may get in touch with the Training Cell, FDDI for obtaining the dupl icate copy of the admit card.

The written test and group discussion are conducted in English medium only.

An all India merit list will be prepared on the ba sis of the result of written examination and the short listed candidates will be called for Group Discussion,

Design Aptitude Test and Personal Interview, which will be held at FDDI, Noida in the month of June 2011.

NOTE: Candidates appearing in f inal year exam would be provisionally allowed to appear in the written test, GD and interview. However, such candidates are

required to submit mark sheet of final year at the time of admission. In case candidates fail in the final year exams his/her admission would be cancelled.

Institute reserves 15% seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) and 7.5 % seats for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates respectively in each p rogra mme

in both sponsored as well as non-sponsored category. 3% seats are reserved for physically handicapped students in each prog ramme as

per the persons with Disability Act 1995. Such candidates should submit the disability certificate issued by medical b oard notified by State / 

Central authority certifying their disability as 40% or more.

Candidates who have attempted CAT / MAT test are eligible for exemption from appearing in the written test of FDDI. However score

secured by them in CAT / MAT shall be considered as per the fol lowing cri teria

For CAT / MAT: The CAT / MAT percentil e will be equated at pa r with FDDI percentile. Marks correspon ding to the near est percentile of the

candidate who has appeared in the FDDI written test will be all otted and the candidate having CAT / MAT percentile will be positioned just

below such candidate. For example the candidate having 92.84 percentile in MAT will be equated to the nearest percentile of candidate

appeared in FDDI written test, which is say 92.75 and the marks corresponding to the percentile is 160 / 300 in the case the CAT student

with 92.84 percentile will also be allotted 160 marks. However, in case of CAT student who have also appear in FDDI written examination,

the best of the two marks as per the above methods shall be allotted. Similar formula will be applied in the case of MAT candidates as well.

The Score of CAT / MAT prior to Sep. 2010 examination shall not be considered.

Candid ates will also have op tion to ap pear for FDDI written t est. In that case the best of the two exam i.e. MAT / CAT or FDDI written

examination will be considered for the merit of selection as per the methods stated above.

Thus the common merit list of written test will be prepared for candidates appeared in the written test of FDDI and applied under CAT &

MAT category. Accordi ngly, shortlisted cand idates will be called f or GD, Interview an d Design Aptitud e Test (DAT)

Candidates are required to fill the application form attached with the prospectus as per the instruction mentioned here and send the duly fill form along with the

requisite documents to FDDI, Noida. Duly filled application form along with requisite documents should be sent to Training Cell, FDDI. The important instruction

for filling the fo rm are given below.

1. One can apply for more than one programme in a single form. For applying in multiple programmes candidates have to fill the programme code in

accordance to their preference of programme as given in the application form.

• Applicants of PG programmes can apply for other PG programmes only, in the same form.

• Applicants of UG programmes can apply for other UG p rogrammes only, in the same form.

• If candidates wish to apply for both UG & PG programmes he / she has to fill two separate application forms. However, all may apply fo r

short-term programmes.

2. Applicant can choose date of his / her choice from among the dates given in the application form. Maximum efforts will be made to accommodate on the

given date and centre on first come first serve basis. However due to infrastructure constraints a candidate may sometimes be asked to appear on other

dates /centre also.

3. Candidates applying under the reserved category (SC/ST/Disabled) must attach an attested copy of documentary proof signed by the competent authority

as admissible, along with the duly filled up application form.

4. Candidates applying under exemption for CAT / MAT must attach the relevant score card along with the duly filled up application form.

5. You are required to paste one recent passport size coloured photograph in the specified area of the form. The photograph should be pasted properly. A form

without the same shall be rejected.

6. You are required to fill up the personal details given in the Admit card and paste an identical passport size coloured photograph (as pasted in the application

form) and sent back along with the duly filled up form. The candidates are also required to send two self-addressed envelope along with the form.

7. The candidates are required to sign properly & carefully (without any overwriting/cut) in the first column provided in the Admit Card indicated as

“signature of candidate (at the time of f illing up the form)”. In case of mismatching of the signature you will not be allowed to take the test.

The written test would be conducted through a computer based online mode. In this each candidate would be p rovided with a computer and individually allo cated

User-id and Password. Using the allocated User-id a nd Password, the cand idate would b e able to access the test paper. Test Paper will be avail able in both Engli sh as

well in Hindi languag e. Candidates are required to provide their option in admission form and admit card for the same The test papers are downloaded at the test

centre local server from the main server. The question contained in the test paper would be rendered one at a time o n the computer monitor. The candidate submits

his/her answers by inputting through a mouse and keyboard. The entrance exam would be conducted over multiple sessions in a d ay and the test would be scheduled

for all the candidates. The short listed candidates would be communicated about their test centre, session and test time details individually through admit card.

It is mandatory for the candidates to bring their Admit Card (with photograph) to the allocated test centers along with any other valid identity proof document

such as Voter's ID Card, Passport, Driving License, Identit y Card issued by previous institution etc.. The candidat es would be allowed to appear fo r the entran ce

exam only on validation of their identities by the centre administrators located at each centre.

A mock test paper is available at our website www.fddiindia.com which can be attempted by the candidates.

FDDI entrance test will be of 2.5 hrs. (Two and half hours) duration and would b e conducted in English language. There would be a total of 150 objective

type questions. Multiple choices for these questions will be available and candidates are required to choose the right a nswer. Written Test would comprise the

Each question would carry 1 mark. There is no negative marking. The questions in the test paper will be selected from a Question Data bank. The time allotted forthe test will be shown on the screen as Time Left to finish the test. The time will start to tick as soon as the candidates click the “Start Test” button. On completion of thetest, the candidates can exit by pressing the “Submit” button. The candidates should attempt the entire questions within the stipulated test duration of 2.5 ho urs toavoid being “timed out”.

The Test Centre Administrators would be available at the test centre to p rovide all the necessary assistance. The tests would be invigilated to ensure that spirit of theexam is maintained. The candidates found indulgin g in the malp ractice of any nature would be disqualified and would be instructed to leave the test premisesimmediately. The candidates would not be allowed to bring mobile phones, pagers, calculators, PDA, Listening devices and recording or p hotographic devices ofany nature in the examination hall.
