(Hons.) in Milk Production Management(MPM). This prospectus presents an overview of the information relating to the admission and other required details.

The Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Ltd. was established in the year 1960 with the nobleintention of ensuring a fair return to the milk producers. It is a district level apex body of milk cooperativesocieties in Mehsana which aims not only to provide remunerative returns to milk producers but to serve theinterest of consumers also by providing quality and safe milk and milk products which gives good value for theirmoney.

The intention was that the dairy would play an ever vital role in the rural economy, providing gainful selfemployment to the large numbers of farmers of the district and to raise their awareness to manage their ownaffairs through cooperatives. Slowly but surely, like a sapling, the dairy grew in the rich soil of cooperation toabout 1300 milk co-operative societies involving more than 4.75 lakh milk producer members. The dairy, as itgrew, became the largest co-operative dairy in whole of Asia and handles more than 23 lakh liters of milk perday in peak season. The dairy has five feeder chilling centers to collect and supply raw chilled milk to the dairy.The product range of the Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Ltd. includes Liquid milk inpouches, Butter, Ghee, Infant milk products, Dairy whitener, Whole milk powder, Skimmed milk powder,Sweetened condensed milk, Sterilized flavoured milk, Chhash (butter milk), Ice cream and Dahi (yoghurt).

Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Ltd. has laid a stepping stone to provide good quality, pureand safe milk to the consumers in Delhi NCR. To achieve this, it has established DUDHMANSAGAR DAIRY in 2006at Manesar, Gurgaon, Haryana & DUDHAMOTISAGAR DAIRY in 2012 at Dharuheda, Haryana with product makingfacilities. The dairy is managed by qualified and dedicated professionals. The production facilities are supportedby quality assurance, marketing, and other allied services, providing a vibrant and buoyant work environment toits personnel in pursuit of quality and excellence.

The dairy is recipient of various awards. To name a few, the dairy has owned the Second Best ProductivityPerformance Award on six occasions and the Best Productivity Performance Award on six occasions since 1985from National Productivity Council, New Delhi and got commendation certificate in Rajiv Gandhi QualityAssurance Award for year 2012. The dairy has implemented quality management system based on Internationalstandard ISO 9001-2008 and Food Safety Management System based on International standard ISO 22000-2005to ensure highest quality and safe products to consumers. To address global environmental concerns, dairy hasimplemented environmental management system based on International standard ISO 14001-2004.

Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited, an apex Federal body created by the DistrictCooperative Milk Unions of Gujarat, markets the milk and milk products of the dairy, through its network inIndia and all over the world mainly in Middle East, African and other South Asian countries. The dairy alsosupplies milk products to the Armed Forces of India. The dairy is a well established co-operative enterpriseactively contributing to the socioeconomic betterment of the member milk producers of the district, and hasthe potential to face the Global challenges of private and multinational enterprises.

Milk is and is dairy business. Milk production by dairy animals is a function of successful reproduction and totalintegration of animal health and nutrition. Dairy recognizes all important aspects of dairying since beginning andit has devised various solutions to take care of animal breeding, feeding, preserving animal health and to caterthe need of farmers in this field, dairy had full flagged facilities with its various departments viz Animal Health,Technical Inputs and Central Semen Station, Cattle Feed Factory etc.

The Kankuba Pashupalan VidyapithThe Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Ltd has decided to establish an unaidedInstitute for Milk Production Management under the aegis of Dudhsagar Research and DevelopmentAssociation (DURDA), a trust functional at the Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers' UnionLtd, Mehsana as second steps for skill development after success of MIDFT under the ages of DURDA.

The establishment of this “Institute of Milk Production Management” is one of the significant eventsvisualized and conceived by the Board of management of the Mehsana District Cooperative MilkProducers' Union Ltd. It is envisaged that this Institute will open new avenues for the sons of the soilto pump in Innovative and the State of Art Technology in time to come. The name of the Institute is-“Kankuba Pashupalan Vidyapith”

Mehsana, the education centre is connected well through Ahmedabad-Jaipur western railway and islocated on Ahmedabad-Palanpur Highway The Institute of Dairy Sciences is situated in the GanpatUniversity campus, which is at distance of about 15 kms from Mehsana on the Mehsana Gozaria-Gandhinagar highway. The Institute is an ideal place for study of Milk Production Management andallied aspects in dairy production, since Mehasan District is one of the leading region in milkproduction business in North Gujarat.

0The climate is warm for major part of the year. The maximum temperatures ranges between 40-44 C0during summer and minimum temperature ranges between 15-20 C during winter season. Institute

To provide adequacy of Education, Training and Development services in the Milk Production Management sector.

To impart education in the field of Milk Production Management and milk production on the line of cooperation, scientific and commercial dairy farm business to generate and make available competent human resources to the fast developing & changing dairy industry in the country. The graduates will be awarded B.Sc. (Hons.) (MPM) degree.

To undertake or promote Education, development and to impart or provide training, job training and practical training in Modern and Scientific Dairy Farm Practices, production of safe, clean and wholesome milk for human consumption.

To organize training programs for the milk producers, feed –fodder growers with view to enhance the quality and to improve the productivity of their production units at farm level.

To identify and provide skill needs in Milk Production Management and technology adaptation.

To improve quality, productivity and economic efficiency in dairy farm business.

B.Sc. (Hons.) (Milk Production Management) degree program will cover intensive training in Feeding, Breeding and Management of dairy animals for quality and cost effective milk production through adopting scientific technology on commercial scale in cooperative environment. This program will also provide appropriate training and exposure for successful management of village dairy cooperative society.

The Four year degree program B.Sc. (Hons.) (Milk Production Management) will be imparted under the semester system with each semester of six months duration. One year of intensive practical training of the dairy farm practices and day to day management of village milk society / dudh manadali in last year.

Each academic semester consists of 110 working days including examinations. The commencement of odd and even semesters will be announced in academic calendar prepared by the Director of the Vidyapith / University.

The medium of instruction and examination will be English. Grading and evaluation will be in the Ten Point Grade System. The minimum age of

stcandidate on the 31 of December of the previous year of his/her first admission to the study course shall be 16 years but not more than 19 years.

Passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB)subjects and their combined aggregate marks in the theory papers consider formerit.

Vidyapith, at the MIDFT in the campus of Dudhsagar Dairy, Mehsana on cash

Application form fee is 350/- payable in Cash or Demand Draft in favor of “Institute of Dairy Sciences, Ganpat University” payable at Mehsana.

Application form completed in all respect must be submitted at the office of GanpatUniversity before deadline declared. All documents as listed in checklist must besubmitted. Incomplete and late (receipt) application will not be accepted foradmission.

Selection Process based on Merit.The candidate for admission shall beselected on the basis of a single meritlist for both Normal seats(30) andPayment seats (10), which shall bedetermined by the Combinedaggregate marks (PCB) at thequalifying examination or as decidedby the University/ from time to time.

Additional 5% marks will be given towards of milk producers family who ismember of village Milk cooperativesociety affiliated to District MilkUnion, for this benefit students has toget certificate with signature & seal informs provided in the prospects.

If there are candidates secured equalnumber of merit marks the meritorder shall be determined byapplication of criteria as under.

First the total external marksobtained in three theory papersof subject of Biology, Chemistry& Physics at the H.S.C.E.

Even under the case whenH.S.C.E. marks are equal, thentheory marks obtained in thesubject of Biology, Chemistry& Physics considered in theorder of sequence.

Then marks obtained in Englishare considered.
