PROSPECT PRIMARY SCHOOL
RESPECT SUCCESS CREATIVITY DATES TO REMEMBER
From the Principal WELCOME
It has been wonderful to see the enthusiastic faces of our returning students yesterday. Although they have all come with great holiday stories to share, they are also happy to be back at PPS and ready to continue as critical and creative thinkers in their new learning spaces.
We welcome our new foundation students and their families. Welcome also to our many new students throughout the school. We look forward to supporting you all as you settle into our school. At present we have about 510 students but may still have some new enrolments over the next few weeks.
Our year started officially on Wednesday but many staff members have been working tirelessly over their holiday break setting up learning areas and planning with their colleagues.
On Wednesday we welcomed back Jenny Rossiter who has been on leave since term 2 along with Karen Hamano (SSO). New faces to our staff include the following teachers:
Permanent to our school
Kylie Kurlyowicz year 5/6 Rm 2
Mike La Pietra year 6/7 Rm 1
Jess Clemente year 2 Rm 18
Contract
Simone Karanicolas Greek
Deanna Cammisotto Technologies
We will give you more information about the amazing skills they bring to our school in our week 3 newsletter.
Please scroll down to find out where all our learning areas and teachers are located.

SO MUCH HAPPENING
You would have seen a few changes when you arrived Monday morning. We have new carpets in all learning areas, our hall floor has been resurfaced, a new bike shed and an incredible piece of Indigenous artwork that has been erected on both our side and the Child Care Centre side as a gift to us from the Child Care Centre. I will share the amazing story about the artworks in a later edition.
AGM
As an advanced warning, I will be sending out information regarding our Governing Council, Annual General Meeting in week 4 as soon as possible.
We have had many members who have worked tirelessly over years and are about to retire therefore we need many new members to take their place.
Please start to consider if you would like to make a valuable contribution to your child(rens) school by nominating for a position on the council. You need no prior experience as we will all be trained in the role before our first meeting later in the term.
Please chat to any of our Governing Council members if you would like any more information.
