Introduction

Location and Access

The M'Veigh Property is located in central Strathy. Access is via the Kanichee Mine road that branches to the west from Highway 11, approximately 4.5 km north of Temagami.

Property

The McVeigh property consists of eight patents and three claims.

Patents Claims

The patents and claims cover 176 hectares. The claims are I QQP/o held under Falconbridge Limited (Suite 1200, 95 Wellington Street W., Toronto, Ontario). The property was prospected for two days by Alger St. Jean, and for one day by Jean Laforest on October 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Topography and Vegetation

The claim area is characterized by it's flat gentle relief and the fact that the southern arm of the Kanichee Lake runs along and cuts through the long axis of the property. The vegetation is a mixed forest comprised mostly of spruce, jack-pine, birch, and poplar.

Rock Types

The main lithologies found in the area are intermediate fragmental and massive mafic flows with subordinate massive rhyolite with a general strike of Az 010 to 020. According to previous mapping, the property sits in the center of a 900 meter wide couloir characterized by a swarm of felsic dykes.

Numerous meter scale Feldspar Porphory and Quartz-Feldspar Porphory dykes cut the volcanics at low angles (near parallel). These in turn are cut by diabase dykes with a general strike of Az 110. Mineralization associated with the FP and QFP dykes is sparse and generally occurs in the form of fracture filling (1-3*^ pyrite-pyrrhotite, trace to Wo cp in silicified volcanics at or near the contacts of FP and QFP dykes, and also as isolated centimeter scale quartz carbonate veins.

The massive rhyolite located near the south boundary of the property shows moderate shearing and sericite-carbonate fracture filling.

Results

Five whole rock samples and ten assay samples were collected and sent to Bondar- Clegg Inchape Testing Services, Timmins, Ontario, for analysis. No significant base metal mineralization was encountered, however, one sample from a quartz vein returned a value of 16gA Au.
