OPTIONs fOR ROB ON uER II
Option 0: ROB at railway line with at-grade junction with NH-10 »
This option consists of provision for:
a. Motorized Traffic: ROB over Delhi - Rohtak Railway Line b. Non-motorized Traffic / Traffic on service road: RUB under Delhi - Rohtak Railway Line
and c. At-grade junction with NH-10.
Option 1: ROB at railway line and high capacity roundabout at the junction with NH-10 »
Option 2: ROB at railway line and two level multimodal interchange point at junction with NH-10 »
Option 3: ROB at railway line and three level multimodal interchange point at junction with NH-10 »
Following options have been proposed taking into account the projected traffic over UER II
Due to proximity of the ROB approach with ROW of NH-10, the at-grade junction with NH-10 is expected to chock up within a short span of time.
Therefore, following options of proposed elevated corridor for UER II over Rohtak railway lineand NH-10 have been further worked out:
Option 2A: ROB at railway line and two level multimodal interchange point at junction with NH-10 (Without Traffic Lights On NH-10) »

Recommended Scheme
As can be seen from Evaluation matrix that Option No. 3 i.e. ROB andMulti-Modal Interchange Point (Three Levels) on NH-10 scoresmaximum marks and is accordingly recommended. However thisscheme can be phased out and the second option can be considered withthe provisions for converting it to the third option, whenever required.
Project Implementation Logic
• The existing NH-10 has substantial traffic at present and after the UER connectionswith the highways, we can expect large volumes of traffic added to the present countfor vehicles at the NH-10 crossing.
• With the development of Industrial area (as per MPD-2021) a large volume ofcommercial traffic is also expected to ply on the UER.
• The scheme conceptualized now will be in position at the time when the trafficexceeds the required number warranted for grade separated interchanges
• Metro leading to Bahadurgarh is crossing UER-II near Mundka depot. Anintegrated junction having bus stops in the centre of the junction and Metro stationat the top further creates a demand for a comprehensive interchange.
• A Rail Over Bridge (ROB) is considered essential for smooth and uninterrupted flowof traffic in most cases.
• An extension of the RoB on the NH-10 is further justified, as it almost reached thecrossing, anyway.
