INTRODUCTION

Problem

Staffs are having a hard time cleaning rooms and comfort rooms for the customers. As good engineers of the people, we have the responsibility to maintain cleanliness and safe environment at Wil Tower Mall. As professionals, we recognize that the staffs and employees expect to work in a safe environment as part of their right as workers. The risk of losing customers, staffs and employees is high if the mall does not maintain its cleanliness because of the problem in water supply. Furthermore, it is evident in our research that the result of poor water supply, damaged water pipes and discoloration of water in some floors significantly affect the cleanliness of the facilities in the mall, particularly the comfort rooms.

Solution

We propose that building Wil Tower Mall needs a full renovation to solve the problem in water supply. Our property arrangement offices or the registered communal services agents are responsible in repair and maintenance of the water mains and other associated water supply facilities in your buildings (including water pumps, water tanks, communal water mains and other associated communal installations).

The problem with water supply can be clear out if we change your old water pumps and all the corroded pipes of necessary. We need also to check the plumbing, because many other common water supply problems might also be caused by lack of proper maintenance of plumbing on the part of the consumers.

Objectives

The purpose of this proposal is to improve the water supply problem at Wil Tower Mall. The followings are the aim of our proposal.

1. To improve water quality

2. To avoid discomfort and problems in water supply

3. To maintain cleanliness especially in comfort rooms

4. To have a safe environment

Background

Reconstructing is paid activity with an aim for improvement or to correct a defect. It does not attempt to teach comprehensive damage restoration procedures; rather it provides the foundation principles of proper restoration practices. This is important so that the individual circumstances of each restoration job are taken into account. Reconstructing is a process of a restoring property back to pre-loss condition after sustaining any level of damage.

Data Source

The data used to create this proposal came from our security records and all the records of the customers who call to our helpline that are currently answered by an assistant, who asks the customer if they are calling to report a new problem or to check the status of the previous reported issue. If the customer is calling about a previously reported issue, the assistant will then ask the customer for the Incident ID #. The assistant then places the customer on hold, calls a customer service representative, advises the representative of the reason for the call (new problem or Incident ID #), and transfers the caller to our maintenance and repair team.

Scope and Limitation

In seeking solution, we wanted to decrease the amount of wasted water. The solution must appeal to customers and to our business clients. In Addition, any changes we make should be visually attractive and not unpleasant for our clients and customers. We also have considered cost and high-quality materials.

Wil Tower Mall is two tower building, having 38 storey inner city, mixed used condominium development along Eugenio Lopez Drive in Quezon City. Sitting on 3,000 sqm, the development has 4 levels of commercial spaces, and 4 levels of basement parking. Located across ABS-CBN.

DISCUSSION

Methods

This section presents our plan for obtaining the objectives discussed in the previous section. There has been as increase of complaint in the supply of water at Wil Tower Mall. Several call records discussing the problem of water supply. Those call records and lot of complaints help as to make this proposal for our goal in Wil Tower Mall. The first goal of our proposal is to explain of how we are going to solve the poorly maintained water pumps often lead to disruption of water supply; corrosion in water pipes might cause chokage and lead to weak supply of pressure and also the discoloration of water. If those unsafe problems continue in the public mind, the Wil Tower Mall will begin to lose good customers. It also may lead to health problem of their customers and staffs. And it will give an effect of losing the business.

Scheduling

We would like to make the suggested improvements as soon as possible. Once equipment has been ordered and received, the project should take less than 4 months, as you can see in the Figure Below.

Table 1. Schedule for Improving Wil Tower Mall’s Water Supply(1st Phase)

In the first month of reconstruction, the activities start with the main process of reconstructing the water supply at Wil Tower Mall it is the monitoring. Monitoring is the process that we need to conclude first because it helps the workers modified its main problems and the most important is to avoid that problem from repeating. It will help also the planning process to sustain a good and productive change in the reconstruction and it also include those order of materials and equipments. The last part was Safety measure the very important in reconstructing or in all activities that we need to work on. Providing safety measure for workers and for the safety of others will help to be aware of any accident that may happen in the days of renovations.

Page 14: Proposal for Improved Water Supply at Wil Tower Mall (2)

Table 2.Schedule for Improving Wil Tower Mall’s Water Supply(2nd Phase)

The second month of reconstruction, everyone was held up for a meeting so that we can estimate the time needed to remove the broken pipes, tanks and old motor pumps. It will help us to finish the project in the right time as stated in the discussion of methods.

Page 15: Proposal for Improved Water Supply at Wil Tower Mall (2)

Table 3. Schedule for Improving Wil Tower Mall’s Water Supply(3rd Phase)

On third month of reconstruction, everyone will help to clean the site in order to avoid failures or accidents. It is also the month of concreting the pipes and tanks or completing its parts. Motor pumps will be assembled to its main position.

Page 16: Proposal for Improved Water Supply at Wil Tower Mall (2)

Table 4. Schedule for Improving Wil Tower Mall’s Water Supply(4th Phase)

On the last month of reconstructing, It’s all about testing and completion of the project. Once the temperature, humidity, and moisture content is deemed acceptable and safe according to industry standards, the water damage restoration equipment would be removed and the water damage restoration process would be complete. Some building maintenance operators use their own personnel to perform water damage restoration to save on the growing costs, it is prescribed to hire a professional water damage restoration company to perform these services since there are defining criteria and methods to be used for assessing water damage and establishing restoration procedures. Because of the unique circumstances of every water damage restoration project, it is impractical to issue blanket rules intended to a situation. In extenuating circumstance, deviation from portions of the S500 may be appropriate. In performing a job, carelessness is never acceptable and common sense should always prevail.

When working for 4 months, it is often the case that those who are performing the water damage restoration must avoid failures and stick with the plan in order complete the task with no accidents or damage that occur. For 4 months, reconstructions are allotted for the monitoring process, removing and installing materials. Cleaning place and concreting of pipes and motor pumps will be done by 15 plumbers, 15 skilled workers, 1 foreman.
