Title of Magazine

The title of the my music magazine is “LOUD”, the reason why I have called it this is to express the meaning behind my music genre , to show that R&B/Hip Hop music wants to be heard. Also to empathies

that this type of music wants to tell a story.

Choice of Genre

The genre of the my music magazine is R&B/Hip hop the reason for this is that I feel I enjoy this genre and this would help me work to be the best, as well I feel that I know a lot of people who also like this genre meaning it wont be hard for me to complete my target audience research, this also means that the genre is very popular amongst young people. Also I feel

that there is a lot to say about R&B/Hip Hop for example the artists, fashion and culture compared to genre like club and indie.

Target Audience

The target audience for my music magazine is young people aged between 16 – 17 years old, people who come from a working class

background, due to the majority of people who would read my music magazine come from a working class background this would mean that

the price of my magazine would be between £1.50 - £2.00, the reason for this is because I feel that this it not to expensive. The reason why I chose

this aged range is that it is not to big and that it would not be hard to include content that is suitable for all the age range. For example if the age range was 15 – 35, this would be hard to include content that would

suit all the age range.

Content of whole magazine

I have chosen to add a ranged of information relating to R&B/Hip Hop, I am going to include: concert reviews, album reviews, upcoming concert, upcoming albums, artist interviews, new artist information and new

released music. The reason for the magazine content being a wide range is so that it can suit all the target audience because certain people might not

be interested in albums but are intruded in concerts. I also feel that the magazine needs to be worth the money so the audience will constantly buy the magazine every month, I have done this by adding in large amounts of

information to ensure this.

Initial ideas for front cover

This is the initial plan for my front cover. The master head being at the top of the page so that people know instantly the name of the magazine, one large photo of a artist within the R&B/Hip Hop genre with a black back ground with a medium shot photo. The reason for the large photo will show that this artist is the focus.

The kicker is going to be a quote from the interview that will feature in the magazine from the same artist on the front cover.

There will only be 3 or 4 cover lines to ensure that the front cover is not too full. The covers will say things like: Need a new summer playlist, “My album took 3 years to produce and 20 best albums of 2015 so far. The reason for these type of cover lines is to draw the

reader attention and attract them to buy the magazine.

Initial ideas for contents page

This is the initial plan for the contents page for my music magazine. The header is going to be at the top of the

page, there is going to be two image one large one of the same artists on the front cover to show the audience that everything links and one smaller image of another artist feature in the magazine, with an anchor along the image to explain how the image relates to the magazine. Also

there will be page numbers along slide a short text about what context is on the page to help persuade the

audience to read certain parts of the magazine. This also allows people to find what they want to read easily. There

will also be the issue number and month when the magazine was published.

Initial ideas for double page spreads

This is the initial plan for the double page spread for my music magazine, there will be one large image on one side on the spread, the image will relate to what the article is

about. The article title will be large at the top of the page so people know what the article is

about before they read the context. Also at the top of the page on the left there will be information about who took the image and who wrote the article. The article will be an interview with an artist from the genre of

R&B/Hip Hop, the text will be split into columns with the interview question as

subheadings.
