    to the believers (Quran, 9:128). And Surah Anbiyarefers tothis great and noble quality of the Prophet in these words: Wehave not sent you but as a mercy for all creatures (Quran,21:107). The Arabic word rahmahhas a very wide andcomprehensive meaning and became well established in thelifetime of the Prophet. It means mercy, compassion, kindness,sympathy, etc.

    There are manyAhadithof the Prophet which show thedivine aspects of mercy in Islam: The believers are like a singleman; if his eye is affected, he is all affected, and if his head isaffected, he is all affected (Muslim, 6589). He (the Prophet) theninterlaced his fingers as a demonstration. This can also bedemonstrated He who strives on behalf of a widow and a poorperson is like one who strives in Allahs Way (Bukhari, 6006).

    Prophet Muhammads public communication revealsseveral values that he espoused and practiced in his interactionswith all he came in contact. The values he suggests areimportant to remember and to practice in order to become asuccessful leader, able to inspire and direct those around you.
