There is an old saying that goes “Dog is man’s best friend.” I believe a dog can also be a girl’s best friend. If I had to choose one best friend, it would be my dog Sophiey. The reasons that Sophie is my best friend are that she is always happy to see me, she won’t ever talk about me behind my back, and Molly is always up for playing games.

First of all, she is always happy to see me. The moment I turn the handle on the front door of my house, Sophie begins barking and yelping with excitement. Her tail flaps back and forth like a windshield wiper turned on full power! No matter what kind of day I have, Sophie greets me with love and makes me feel special. A true friend is always happy to see you no matter what!

Another reason that Sophie is my best friend is that she won’t ever talk about me behind my back. With many friends, you have to worry about whether or not they can be trusted. However, with Molly trust is never an issue. I know that whatever secrets I reveal to my 4-legged friend, she will never tell another soul!

Additionally, Sophie is always up for playing games. Not all friends enjoy playing certain games. Sometimes you have to beg and plead people to play with you. On the other hand, all you have to do is say “Let’s play ball!” and Molly is ready to go! We could play fetch with her favorite tennis ball in the back yard for hours. She zig zags through the grass to grab the ball in her mouth, then obediently drops the ball at my feet, ready for another go.
