Carers – some data fact It is worth considering that many carers arrive at our courses believing they are coping well and mark themselves accordingly. However by the end of the course they realise there are aspects where they are not doing as well as they thought and their score drops instead of increasing. This in itself effects the data. We believe this is not an issue as we have helped carers identify where they are struggling and opened their eyes to addressing the situation.

‘The biggest help has been to become more confident in myself and that it is ok to ask for help from friends and family and services’

Feedback

‘I know you guys won't see this until tomorrow and it might seem like a strange email but after having to fight and go through mandatory reconsideration with DWP we got the letter today to state they have awarded high rate care for 5 years. I've now applied for carers allowance, I've just accessed some counselling and we've just secured a targeted scip worker for my daughter. None of this would have occurred if you two brilliant ladies hadn't made me see myself as a carer for my daughter and realise that we deserved more support and after a week of such good news I felt I wanted to share it and to thankyou both again for the massive difference you are still making in our lives ‘❤ ️

This is one example of the type of impromptu feedback we receive from carers.
