As a modern responsible society, we must do all we can to help or convince people to stop smoking for the sake of their health and the health of others.

We at Eclipse Ministries Limited support all efforts to decrease tobacco consumption and in the very least we can protect non- smokers from passive tobacco smoke emissions by endorsing a blanket ban on smoking in all areas of high pedestrian traffic within commercial areas.

We offer a compromise that enables smokers to maintain their civil liberty and rights without infringing upon the rights of non-smokers .

Zeoair smokers discretionary cubicles with integral air purification and clean air exhaust also mitigate cigarette butt

pollution.

While most people are aware of the health risks involved in smoking, few seem to realise that cigarettes are also bad for the environment. Approximately 7.2 billion cigarettes are littered in Australia each year. Cigarette butts have become one of our most important litter issues. Not only do littered butts seriously reduce the aesthetic quality of any environment, but they can cause a great deal of harm to ecology. If a butt is simply dropped, it can smoulder for up to 3 hours. Cigarette smoke contains up to 4,000 chemicals so each second the butt is left alight, dangerous toxins are released into the environment.

ZEOAIR

Pending the level of pollutants adsorbed, periodical regeneration of the bollard filter will be required whereto maintain maximum adsorption capacity and air sanitisation, this is achieved by the ZEOAIR filter exchange service personnel, undertaking the speedy exchange of the filter cartridge with a regenerated filter.

The cartridge will need to be replaced when the air quality sensor indicator LED flashes red.

By virtue of the high vacuum filtration and anionic adsorption of many noxious gas species and particulate matter, the ZEOAIR purification system prevents hazardous air pollutants such as tobacco smoke emitted to localised outdoor environments such as bus stops or street cafes, bistros and restaurants and provides forth a cleaner healthier air environment for employees /patrons dining or pedestrians in the near vicinity of a smoker in populated commercial and urban areas.

Optional Inline electric ducted fan jet.The above mentioned Inline electric ducted fan jet is a specially designed high powered air displacement system for purifying large areas quickly at a maximum rate of 930 liters of air per second or 55 cubic meters of air per minute. Due to the power draw of the motor and air compression loading, the fan jet assembly is purposely powered by hard wired AC mains rectified 12 Volt DC due to the internal battery comprising the standard Zeoair Smokers Discretionary Cubicle having insufficient Amp hour capacity for long duration use. If choosing the high powered Inline electric ducted fan jet unit it is recommended that the mains power lead plug be kept weather proof and that the power lead does not obstruct walk ways or pavement areas whereto mitigate tripping or falls.

Page 16: Project Smokescreen2016

The Zeoair anionic air filtration system has an in built high sensitive air quality sensor that detects the presence of volatile organic composites, noxious gases, formaldehyde, cigarette smoke, ammonia and all polluting agents that are in the air.

The Zeoair smart CPU controlled air quality sensor samples and measures particle count of the scrubbed air contained within the cavity of the Zeoair filter prior to being exhausted to the atmosphere, if the Zeoair filter has reached a saturation point due to maximum adsorption or blocked filters, an alert is provided by luminescent indicators as to the level of air contamination.

This information is translated into colouring of LED tell tale indicators, whereby red illumination equates to poor air quality and therefore the Zeoair panel requires regeneration and cleaning, yellow indication equates to an acceptable air quality level whereby green illumination indicates the ultimate of air purity with high anion content.

When the yellow indicator flashes the sensor detects a drop in the environmental air quality, such flashing colour signal equates to enabling automatic mode whereby the fan and ioniser is activated to scrub the air and emit anions to the air stream for exhaust to the localised outdoor environment until air purity is re-established.

The Cigarette is a Major Source of Pollution

The pollutants generated by the cigarette arise from the chemical process of burning organic matter, or combustion of tobacco and paper which emit several thousand different types of pollutants, some of which are in the gas phase and some of which are in the form of small particles called particulate matter (PM).

Particulate matter from tobacco smoke includes many particles in the size range that reflects light, which explains why tobacco smoke is easily seen by the eye.

In contrast to smoke particles, gases emitted by the cigarette such as benzene, carbonic acid gas, methane and carbon monoxide etc are invisible to the eye.

Particles smaller than 2.5 micrometers are major components of cigarette smoke and can enter deep into the lung where they can cause serious health problems.

Although a single cigarette is small in size and typically weighs less than 1 gram, a cigarette typically emits between 7 and 23 milligrams (mg) of particulate matter when it is smoked, When people congregate in an outdoor area or enter a designated smoking area where many are smoked, the average amount of PM2.5 mass emitted per cigarette is about 14 mg.

Although 14 mg may not seem like a lot of mass emitted, each cigarette weighs only about 0.9 grams total, making it an extremely potent source of air pollution for its weight and is a potent source of exposure to toxic pollutants, causing concentrations that are often higher than the federal air quality standards designed to protect public health in ambient air outdoors .

Worldwide, 5.5 Trillion Cigarettes are smoked per annum.

Page 19: Project Smokescreen2016

The Cigarette is a Major Source of Pollution

A global study has found that after decades of declining, Australia’s rate of smoking has plateaued, and even increased slightly among women.

Australia in 2015 has approximately 5.3 million smokers: they smoke on average 18 cigarettes per day or a total of 34. 8 Billion cigarettes each year which equates to 487,000 tonnes of polluted air.

Second-hand tobacco smoke kills upward of 600,000 people world wide every year, nearly a third of them children, according to the first global assessment released. In Australia second hand smoke has been attributable to 14901 deaths (2012 statistics)

25 percent of Australian smokers, regularly smoke outdoors in non regulated public places thus contributing to 1220.8 tonnes per year of direct greenhouse emissions and combined particulate matter.

Unlike lifestyle diseases, which stem largely from individual choice, the victims of passive smoking pay the price for the behaviour of others. Inhaling environmental tobacco smoke causes acute irritation in the upper and (to a lesser extent) the lower airways of even healthy people.

It can worsen the condition of those with existing breathing problems. There is growing evidence that exposure to environmental tobacco smoke increases the risk of developing lung cancer.

People who never smoke but live with a smoker or regularly ingest passive smoke have a 30% greater risk of developing lung cancer than people who never smoke and live with a non-smoker.

Passive smoke may be linked to the development of other cancers as well studies suggest that those exposed to environmental tobacco smoke may be more likely to suffer heart disease, heart attacks and sudden death due to heart failure.

Page 20: Project Smokescreen2016

A compromise for government legislation pertaining the

control of atmospheric emissions relevant public

smoking and the protection of civil rights of smokers and

non-smokers.

The Zeoair Public Smoking Discretionary Cubicles provide a sensible method of protecting non smokers rights by reducing atmospheric pollution emitted from tobacco combustion, protect non smokers via the prevention of heart and lung disease from inadvertent ingestion of passive smoke whilst simultaneously protecting the civil liberties of smokers whom have a propensity for their life choice.

With Government and/or local Council body co-operations a further methodology of Revenue generation can be obtained via Statutory Penalty Enforcement and Infringement Notices issued to those smokers whom would put non smokers at risk due the exhibition of their vice in public arenas, whereby provision can now be afforded to smokers whereto ensure that their life choice cannot harm others in populated areas of society.

The Zeoair Public Smoking Discretionary Cubicles may be supplied as a Government Courtesy Service /Initiative or alternatively the said cubicles can be provided as “User” pay via coin lock receptacle.

Such “User” pay initiative is defined as a Clean Air Tax and can also generate further revenues above and atop of any revenues generated from Penalties Enforcement if the smoker is caught smoking in a non designated open air area.

Zeothane is an advanced aerospace material having homogenously suspended natural zeolite particles within an aerated binder such as synthetic polyurethane polymers for applications of noxious gas and or particles adsorption and filtration, Zeothane can also be formulated to have zeolite particles suspended within a low temperature curing aerated refractory ceramic material.

Natural Zeolite is a mineral mined in many parts of the world, an inorganic micro-porous crystalline solid having a well-defined symmetrical structure that contain Aluminium, silicon, and oxygen molecules in their regular lattice type framework whereby cations and water are located in the pores. The silicon and Aluminium atoms are tetrahedrally coordinated with each other through shared oxygen atoms which define a highly regular interstitial structure of pores and chambers that allows some molecules to permeate through, and causes others to be either excluded, or broken down.

Natural Zeolite is mainly utilised by sewerage treatment plants for cultivating amoeba (good bacteria) to help break down excrement contaminated water and also to dry out sewerage sludge contained in holding ponds at various treatment plants world wide, other current uses of crushed natural zeolite packaged in cloth bags are, domestic or industrial odour adsorption. Industry has duplicated some of the natural zeolites, and synthesised many new ones targeted towards very specific purposes. Many of these expensive synthetic zeolites are used in the petrochemical industry to "crack" or break down various raw materials to form specific chemicals like petroleum.

Low density Zeothane comprises typically of natural zeolite, activated carbon and an aerated synthetic polymer or geo-cementitious binder which economically allows greater versatility for end use commercial products, due to the material being able to be easily moulded to any shape or form by injection molding or casting processes, natural zeolite is typically supplied only as a rubble, rock or dust and conventional supply and packaging of zeolite has limited the scope of applications for utilising natural zeolite commercially to its full potential for domestic and general markets.

Zeothane catalyses many types of chemical reactions whereby such reactions take place within the internal cavities of the zeolite particles, activated carbon particles and optionally metallic particles suspended within the aerated polymer matrix or aerated ceramic matrix.

Such chemical reactions are that of catalysis by hydrogen-exchanged zeolite particles, having a molecular framework of bound protons which give rise to very high acidity.

Zeothane compounds can be formulated for organic reactions such as isomerisation and fuel synthesis and can also be formulated for usage as an oxidation or reduction catalyst by the addition of Platinum, Rhodium, Rhenium, Copper, and or Titanium particles suspended within an aerated polymer or cementitious matrix and or the metallic particles can be electro-plated to the Zeothane interstitial compound for further enhancement of catalysis.
