Spiralling or Gizmo is a relatively simple technique which is well suited to use with small seed beads. When stringing the wire with seed beads, you can use an original tool which is regularly available in specialised hobby shops or you can make do with a piece of thicker straight wire or with a knitting needle.

    Materials and Tools:

A mixture of PRECIOSA Traditional Czech Beads seed beads (10 g)

a 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm wire, snipping pliers, needle nose pliers earring hooks

    Difficulty:

    Procedure:

Step 1:The mixture of seed beads should consist of three types of seed beads. String the individual types of seed beads alternately onto a 0.3 mm wire (fig. no. 1).

Step 4:Use 0.5 mm thick wire to create the Creole semi-product. Snip off 2x 11 cm pieces of wire.Create a double loop at one end with the needle nose pliers (fig. no. 4a, 4b).

Step 2:Coil the wire using the original tool or a 2 mm thick wire or knitting needle. After five turns, move half the strung seed beads to the created spiral and start coiling the wire with the seed beads (fig. no. 2a, 2b).

Step 3:Finish off the seed bead spiral again with five coils of the wire without seed beads.Repeat this procedure one more time from the second half of the strung seed beads (fig. no. 3a, 3b).

Step 5:String the created spirals onto the prepared earring semi-products. Use the needle nose pliers to create a loop on the second end of the wire and close the Creole and hang it on the earring hooks (fig. no. 5a, 5b, 5c, 5d)
