Having a startWe started off by cutting 3 main wooden poles to makes the bases so that the vertical garden had somewhere to put the plants, everyone collaborated exceptionally and with good attitude cutting the woods.

Helping othersCutting and measuring that the poles were exact was not easy, the students at year 13 also helped measuring and cutting the wooden poles. Mr. Fernando also helped.

Preparing the poles to fitThere needed to be 1 large pole to go horizontally and 2 vertically. These created the vertical garden. In the wooden poles there needed to be a space for the upper bar to rest on.

Collaborating with everyone Everyone had the chance to collaborate!

Finished projectAfter a long term, we managed to finish the vertical garden, the plants that where hanged were made by the girls In our group. Once we had this we moved on to the water pumping system.

Water pump Guillermo Paz, from the Germinator group helped us install the water pump, this was a system to give water to all the plants with one single pump of water.

Ecological Flower potsAs a Environmental group we make items from recycled items. For example the flower pots are made from recycled bottles and some artistic work.

The girls helpingThe girls in our group were in charged of designing and creating the flower pots from recycled bottles.

Second vertical gardenAs of now we have created two vertical gardens around the school which I think really promote our group and the idea of environmental care.

Project reflectionWe started this project about end of February and we just finished it today June. At the start of the project we had some difficulties for example we did no had groups and we had to fill in forms which were difficult a start. Once we divided into different groups to complete our projects it got much easier, my group was 6 people and the all helped building the vertical garden. I was the leader and observed that everyone was doing their job and if they needed help I helped them. Mario and Alejandro where like the second leaders which helped cutting the wooden poles and again helping with the vertical garden. Juan Jose and Mateo were in charged of the Water pump system which was placed correctly but still needs some more adjustments. Daniel was in charged of placing the flower pots and Ari was in charged of recording the progress. Some times we all changed responsibilities to have some variety but still managed to have the vertical garden completed. Generally I was really proud with my group because everyone collaborated, specially with Mario and Alejandro which were great second leaders helping and giving solutions for problems we came when building the vertical garden.

Other projectsA ecological compost from fruits was made, this compost is similar to fertilizer. Which was used create the germinator which was another project.

Other ProjectThe germinator, this is like a green house but in small proportion. Here we grow the plants until they are big enough to plant them outside the school or place them in the vertical garden.
