Team Nutrition funding, administered through the PA Department of Education, Division of Food and Nutrition was provided to pilot efforts to bring the influences together:

Teams linking the cafeteria, classroom, and community were created at each school.

From “The Team Nutrition Pilot Study: Lessons Learned from Implementing a Comprehensive School-Based Intervention”, a report published by USDA in the Journal of Nutrition Education in 2002:

Relationships formed with parents, local businesses, other educational institutions, health organizations, and the media offer promise for helping to sustain nutrition education efforts.
