How it works at the high school:• Grades 9-12• CD, SLD, MD and Autistic• Complete Project MORE during English class
or Tutoring period• Students in Project MORE during a Tutoring
period receive credit• High school student mentors mentoring
during the school day receive credit
Adaptations for high school:
• Very selective with mentors• Use different “Getting to Know You” activities
• See “Would You Rather” and “Getting to Know You” handouts
• No game boards• Selective with books• Make new books for levels

Project MORE at LT Ball (4th and 5th grade)
• LTB Intermediate - 11 students- 21 mentors(mix of parents, grandparents, college
student, middle school students, high school students, and a few teachers)
• Students participated in Project MORE at the end of the school day during “breakout time.”
LT Ball Success Stories– 4th grader increased 4 Project
MORE reading levels. “Study Island” Benchmark score increased 158 points from the fall. DRA score increased from a 12 to a 24
– 5th grader increased 4 Project MORE levels. DRA increased from a 18 to a 30-.

Student began 4th grade with a 1.8 reading level and is now ending 5th grade reading ABOVE grade level.

Zach-8th Grd. Student Mentor: By helping Danny, it taught me to be more responsible. I think it helps the student learn more since the information is coming from a person around their age. This is a good program and it should be used by more schools!
