Standard Working Hours

Michael Phillips

A Basis

Year 260 standard days = 2,080 hrs per year

Month 21.667 standard days = 173.333 hrs per month

Hourly rate = Monthly salary / 173.33

Standard working /hours per month will be used for computing an hourly rate for a monthly/semi monthly paid employee

Page 5: Project MAESTRO - LACCD

5

Standard Working Hours – Example

Michael Phillips

A semi- monthly paid employee earning a gross salary of $2,000 will have an hourly rate of $23.077

Pay Cycle Salary = $2,000.Standard mo. hours = 173.333Calculation = 2,000 x2 / 173.333 = 23.077

or annual salary = 48,000 / 2080 = 23.077

Overtime rate @ 1.5 = 34.615 per hour

To unpay an employee for 2 days in a month, the example would be 4000.00 per month/21.667 =184.62 x 2 = 369.24

The same example taking the hourly rate of 23.077 x 16 hours = 369.24

Pay Scale Area, Groups, & Levels

Mary Dolan

AreaPay scale areas will allow the scales to be associated with each pay scale type and have been set the same as the pay scale types.

GroupThe pay scale group is a code that represents the pay amount. Each pay scale type will have several groups, each associated with specific classifications. For example, the faculty preparation schedule will have a group associated with each column (A – E).

LevelEach pay scale group will have the appropriate number of levels (the same as salary schedule steps in DEC).

Fern Carter

The following are two types of quotas:

Absence quota--employee absence entitlements, such as standard annual leave, education leave, and so on.

Attendance quota—special attendance such as overtime.

14

Future Quota Reporting – cont.

Fern Carter

Deduction of quota balances will basically be the same as it is now. However on the pay warrant instead of seeing the following:

152 hrs RG8hrs VA

You will see the following:•Pay period Salary (either monthly rate or semi-monthly rate)•Pay Period Hourly Rate for employees paid hourly

on the bottom of the pay stub your quota balance will reflect both the amount earned during the pay period and the amount takenand the new balance.
