Project LOCO

Page 2: Project loco (draft)

Our idea is simple, but works

Page 3: Project loco (draft)

You won’t see fancy graphics in this presentation …

Page 4: Project loco (draft)

We’ll explain the idea clearly though, so read on …

Page 5: Project loco (draft)

LOCO is a tentative name, we’ll tell you what it means at the end …

Page 6: Project loco (draft)

LOCO is a social app … it’s not a game.

Page 7: Project loco (draft)

It’s an app for making friends, but …

Page 8: Project loco (draft)

We’re NOT planning something like Facebook or Twitter …

Page 9: Project loco (draft)

LOCO is more like Skout or Tinder, but we’ll add a twist

Page 10: Project loco (draft)

LOCO is aiming to match users for language exchange.

Page 11: Project loco (draft)

Ask yourself, what’s the best way to learn a language?

Page 12: Project loco (draft)

Buying books? Going to schools? No ….

Page 13: Project loco (draft)

Our belief:

The best way of learning language is by making ‘friends’ who speak that language.

Page 14: Project loco (draft)

Feel free to interpret ‘friends’ as boyfriends or girlfriends, so you know, that’s why it works,

hehee …

Page 15: Project loco (draft)

How to match users? Simple, match by language!

Page 16: Project loco (draft)

For example

Page 17: Project loco (draft)

User A, speaks Chinese and English, wants to learn Japanese

Page 18: Project loco (draft)

User B, speak Japanese and English, wants to learn Chinese

Page 19: Project loco (draft)

User A & B is a match!

Page 20: Project loco (draft)

They can start chatting, who knows what will end up … hehee

Page 21: Project loco (draft)

Users can actively search, or let LOCO to notify you whenever the system finds you a match

! ♥

Page 22: Project loco (draft)

You may ask, are there similar apps in the market?

Page 23: Project loco (draft)

Yes, there are some. If you search ‘language exchange’ on Google Play for instance, you’ll

see quite a few.

Page 24: Project loco (draft)

One of the best ones is called HelloTalk, it has 100-500k installs, rating is 4.1. The matching algorithm is nearly the same as what we intended to do, but …

Page 25: Project loco (draft)

Most of these apps focus on learning language, but LOCO focuses on matching and chatting, it’s

not a tool, it’s a fun app to make friends!

Page 26: Project loco (draft)

Like in HelloTalk, when you start chatting, you’ll see rules like this:

Page 27: Project loco (draft)

In LOCO, there are no rules. We don’t care about your intention.

Page 28: Project loco (draft)

So yes, our idea is simple. That’s it? No ...

Page 29: Project loco (draft)

Apart from ‘Matching by language’, LOCO has another key feature, we tentatively call it

‘Q&A’.

Page 30: Project loco (draft)

Q&A is a place where you can ask questions towards a particular culture, let users who are familiar with

that culture to provide you the best answer.

Page 31: Project loco (draft)

For example

Page 32: Project loco (draft)

You're planning a trip to Tokyo in summer, you'd like to know what are the best matsuri

(祭り ) in summer time.

Page 33: Project loco (draft)

You can go to the Japanese Zone in Q&A, like how a forum works.

Page 34: Project loco (draft)

Our belief:

What’s better than getting an answer from local people?

Page 35: Project loco (draft)

Q&A enables users to interact with, and most importantly …

Page 36: Project loco (draft)

It’s a place to discover more friends, and let users to discover you!

Page 37: Project loco (draft)

We’ll skip the boring details here, like registration, location by GPS, monetization etc

etc.

Page 38: Project loco (draft)

It’s nearly the end of presentation, don’t close it ! Read on …

Page 39: Project loco (draft)

To illustrate the idea of LOCO, we’ll show you an image:

Page 40: Project loco (draft)
Page 41: Project loco (draft)

To summarize it … LOCO is a social app for making friends who speak the languages you prefer, and a place where you can

interact with other people who share the same interest towards a culture.

Page 42: Project loco (draft)

Oh, I said I will explain why it’s called ‘LOCO’

Page 43: Project loco (draft)

Hm …

Page 44: Project loco (draft)

Guess what, we’ll tell you on 3 March

Page 45: Project loco (draft)

If you like our ideas, don’t screen us out!

Page 46: Project loco (draft)

Thank you!
