EATING HEALTHIER…
According to the footprint calculator,
“food” constitutes my second biggest footprint incentive.
One of the big reasons is that I’m a big fan of meat. Not only does my diet
constitute of a lot of red meat such as pork and beef, as a family we seldom
buy from local farmers.
HOW MANY PLANETS DOES IT TAKE?
It takes whole four earths to support
my lifestyle, a deeply troubling event.
My earth Overshoot day is April 5th,
It means that by April 5th of a year, I would
use up all of the resources the earth can
sustain in a whole year!

“It takes 14 times as much biologically productive lands to produce 1 ton of beef as it does to produce 1 ton of grain.” -So why not try a vegetarian meal?
WHAT CAN I DO??
Since meant is the real culprit behind my four-earth lifestyle, I
thought it would be perfect to
tryout the #1 Pledge on the Earth
Overshoot Day website.
PLEDGE # 1 -TRY A NEW VEGETARIAN RECEPIE

STEP #1: Ingredients I thought that something of a yogurt would not only go nicely with fruits and nuts, it is also refreshing and an easy transition for a beginner
vegetarian like me😊 To start, you need any yogurt of your choice, along with some fruits and fibers that you like. Here, I have hazel nuts, some whole grain flakes, one banana, kiwi, organic apple. You can also sprinkle in some chia seeds and honey if you
wish😊
STEP #2: START ARRANGING😊 I started off by cutting my banana into round pieces, and placing them into the bowl. The thing that I love about this is that it is completely up to your choice, just like choosing to be healthy like I did today.

STEP #3 -KEEP ADDING! Here I just gradually added in my cut pieces of apple, slices of kiwi, and also some hazel nuts that are my favorite. I thought that they were a perfect way to add in some proteins that are missing in a vegetarian diet.

Lastly, add in the who grain flakes, chia seeds, honey, and the last of your favorites …
AND WE’RE DONE!
Little reflections..
The recipe was a short and quick one, which is why I think that it is something that I
can follow even on the busy school days, something that I can keep up, and hopefully
help me reduce my meat intakes.
I also just wanted to note how fun the process was for me as well. Making completely
healthy food feels very different -each step you make, and each fruit that you cut, you
feel like you are taking an action on a greener lifestyle and a healthier you, right that
second. Which I was. And that is why I enjoyed this challenge today so much, and
hope that by sharing this recipe, everyone will be able to feel the same way as well.
