NATIONAL CONFERENCE:
The Department of Mechanical Engineering of St. PETER’S INSTITUTE OF HIGHER
EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, has proudly presented a “National Conference on Recent
Advancement in Mechanical Science 2K18” (NCRAMS-2K18) on March 22nd
2018. The aim of
this conference is to provide a common platform to Academicians, Researchers, Scientists,
Industry Professionals and students to showcase their research work and create a forum for
effective exchange of ideas to tackle the future global challenges from the perspective of
emerging trends in engineering and technology.
Dr. K. Ramakrishnan, Deputy General Manager MIDHANI, Hyderabad inaugurated the
conference, well established Professors from different colleges / Universities and persons with
sound Industrial backgrounds have took part in the conference and gave more idealistic speech,
which would have given high level of confidence to the Students / Scholars, who had
participated and presented their papers. Two Professors Dr.P.Periyasamy Prof/HOD Mechanical
Engineering Department in SPIHER, Dr. K.Gurusami Associative Prof Mechanical Engineering
Department in SPIHER delivered the key note speech on Emerging trends in mechanical
sciences.
PROJECT EXHIBITION - APRIL 2018
The Department of MECHANICAL has conducted a Project Exhibition on 5th
April 2018 in the
Mechanical block Engineering practices laboratory and Dynamics Laboratory. The show started
at 10.00 AM and gets closed at 4.00 PM. The Final year students of both UG/PG and Third year
students have displayed and demonstrated their Projects.
The projects were categorized in different field of specialization such as on Composite material,
Analysis of various parameters, different innovations in mechanical equipment’s. Mechanical
operated machines. Nearly 25 Projects has been displayed by students. All projects are mostly
Industrial application oriented and social related to the current standard.
The Institute Advisor and Director Academic and Director R&D has visited the Exhibition hall
and interacted with the students who have displayed the projects. The best projects have been
awarded have been prizes and certificates. Students who have demonstrated their projects have
appreciated with participant certificates.
WORKSHOP :
The Department of Mechanical organized a One day workshop on “Work Shop On
“Advancement In Automotive Safety,, which was inaugurated on 1
st February 2018
presented by Mr.Kovarasan, i3 DESIGN TECHNOLOGIES. Event was started by the
informative and motivational talk on “Advancement in Automotive Safety”.
The content covered in the workshop was on
i)various softwares that are used to design and analyse all the automotives.
ii) The latest technology that are being adapted in automotives like sensors that control the entire
system. The importance of Automotive safety in vehicles like cars,trucks etc.
iii)A detail description was given on how to bring safety in automotives and what are all the
current challenges which are to be taken to prevent human life from danger.
GUEST LECTURE:
A guest lecture on “Composite Materials And Its Applications” was
conducted by the department of Mech for the third and final year students in the Seminar hall,
Mech Block on 11th
September 2017 at 10.30 a.m. The guest Lecture was given by Mr.S.
Ramanan, Asst. General Manager, SYNCE Engineering Pvt Ltd
In the entire session he explained about metal matrix composites and the
methods that are being adopted in the process like stir casting, powder metallurgy etc.Students
benefited a lot and it will be useful for their examination.
SEMINAR :
The department of Mechanical organized a seminar on “Seminar On Recent Trends In
Cadd/Cam In Terms Of Industry Today” by CADD SCHOOL group, on 27th July 2017 at 10.30am for all
final year and M.E students in the Seminar hall mechanical block.
The seminar covered on the topic of recent advances in industrial applications and the
softwares that are being used in the industry and upgraded to the latest version. The seminar was very
useful to the students.

Engineering of St. PETER’S INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, St.
PETERS UNIVERSITY are proudly presenting “National Conference on Recent Advancement
in Mechanical Science & Technology 2K17” (NCRAMST-2K17) on March 23th
2017. The aim
of this conference is to provide a common platform to Academicians, Researchers, Scientists,
Industry Professionals and students to showcase their research work and create a forum for

Prof/HOD Aeronautical Engineering Department in St.Peter’s University delivered there key
note speech on recent advancement in mechanical sciences.
WORK SHOP :
The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a one day workshop on Advanced
Robotics which was inaugurated on 27th
September 2016 presented by Mr.Lokesh
Ramachandran, Founder WITY. Event was started by the informative and motivational talk
on “Advance Robotics”. The content covered in workshop was on Adruino & Programming the
microcontroller using embedded C Interfacing and controlling various devices like LED,
motors, sensors etc with microcontroller, Making serial communication with PC using hyper
terminal coding Application of micro controllers.

2016. This Conference has brought up a new standard then
brings out new ideas to face the new challenges set before to us in this ever demanding world
and a lightening approach to the Department of Faculties and Students / Scholars.
Dr. Sathyaseelan, Managing Director, IBM Chennai, inaugurated the conference, persons
with sound Industrial backgrounds have took part in the conference and gave more idealistic
speech ,which would have given high level of confidence to the Students / Scholars, who were
participated and presented their papers.
GUEST LECTURE
A guest lecture on “today opportunities in industries” was conducted by the
department of Mechanical for the third and final year students in the Mechanical Block Seminar
Hall on 24th
March 2016 at 9.00 a.m. The guest Lecture was given by Mr.K. Deepek Raj, Needy
placement center.
He explained the importance of CAD and Analysis software in industry and
automation sector. He further added that adding the skill will be beneficial from the job
Perspective in global competitive market. He first elaborated the theory and then practically
explain the concept with live demonstration.
GUEST LECTURE:
A guest lecture on “Cfd And Its Applications On Drying Of Food Product”
was conducted by the department of Mechanical for the third and final year students in the
Seminar hall Mechanical Block on 8th
July 2015 at 1.30 p.m. The guest Lecture was given by
Dr.V.P. Chandra Mohan ,NIT, Warangal.
In his lecture he explained all the various food processing techniques that are
being adapted to making the food preserve and processes that were involved in manufacturing of
food preservatives.
SEMINAR
The department of Mechanical organized a seminar on “Career Growth And Enhancement”
by Dr.P.V.Senthil, SPIHER on 4th February 2016 for all the Mechanical students at 9.30 am in the
Mechanical block.
The seminar was related to carrier enhancement for polytechnic students. The contents of the
seminar was to create awareness among polytechnic students. The seminar aims at guiding the
polytechnic students for their further study.

more idealistic speech, which would have given high level of confidence to the Students /
Scholars, who were participated and presented their papers. Two Professors Dr.K.Purushathaman
Prof/HOD Mechanical Engineering Department in St.Peter’s College of Engineering and
Technology and Dr.M.Chinnapandian Prof/HOD Aeronautical Engineering Department in

GUEST LECTURE :
The department of Mech organized a guest lecture on “Advanced
Manufacturing Process” by Dr. P.Periyasamy Professor/Mech on 21st August 2014 at 10.30amfor
all PG students in the Seminar hall Mechanical Block.
The topics covered on the lecture was about latest manufacturing process
adapted in the industry.The latest scheduling and optimization techniques that were adapted in
the syllabus today. The students were the beneficiary from the seminar.
GUEST LECTURE :
The department of MECHANICAL organized a guest lecture on “simulation and
scheduling” by Dr.P.V. Senthiil on 16th
July 2014 at 11.00 a.m for all final year students in the
room No 147, Mechanical block.
The lecture was explained about the different features of analysis software .The
various job opportunities in that field of designing and analysis both in India as well as in abroad
and also advanced techniques in the field of simulation and scheduling.
SEMINAR ON IMPORTANCE OF CADD IN ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS
The department of Mechanical organized a seminar on your carrier in Non Destructive
Testing by Mr.Daniel, NDT Academy on 25th September 2014 at 1.30pm for all Mech students in the
Seminar hall mechanical block.
The content of the seminar was to make the students to understand the importance of NDT
and its benefits in day to day engineering applications. The major topics discussed are what are all the
levels and the courses to be learnt in NDT and the availability of courses in the market.
SEMINAR ON IMPORTANCE OF CADD IN ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS
The department of Mechanical organized a seminar on “Importance of CADD In Engineering
Applications” by Mrs.Vandhana, CADD CENTRE on 29th September 2014 at 1.30pm for all Mech
students in the Seminar hall mechanical block.
The content of the seminar was to make the students to understand the importance of cad and
adapt to the latest technology. The major topics discussed are the 2D and 3D modelling softwares, the list
of cad courses available in the market.
