@cylelompton Lyle Compton GMB all the way, baby. Joined May 1774 @constancecompton Constance Compton Mom~ Wife ~ Vermonter Joined Sep 1774 @colnelallen Ethan Allen Leader of Vermont’s own Green Mountain Boys Joined Sep 1770 Narrative: Constance and Lyle Compton are Vermonters living in peace before the American Revolution. They represent the point of view of Americans who do not like the British. Constance and Lyle have a son, Johnny. Constance’s point of view is that she wants to get rid of British rule, but believes that the Continental Congress can work with Parliament in London to obtain rights. Constance is less extreme than her husband, who joins the Green Mountain Boys, a militia associated with the Continental Army of the United States. Lyle’s point of view is that the British are terrible overlords and that he needs to protect is family at any cost. Lyle is under the command of Ethan Allen, the Colonel and leader of the Green Mountain Boys. Ethan Allen is a true historical figure that had the opinion that he protected himself first, Vermont second, and was just part of the Revolution because the other militias needed help. Allen’s point of view was found in Ethan Allen: Frontier Rebel by historian Charles Albert Jellison. The Green Mountain Boys are responsible for the capture of Fort Ticonderoga in upstate New York, the first major victory for the American Revolution, on May 11 1775.
