Outlining the Quarter Slide 3 MS Word Google Earth Firefox Interpreting the symbols Slide 4 Falling rocks Audio controls Interpreting the symbols What does it mean? Slide 5 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Hebrews 1:1-4 (KJV) Slide 6 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of Gods glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs. Hebrews 1:1-4 (NIV) Slide 7 What are your glasses? What is your song? What is your story? Relationships (and facets of: intimacy, estrangement, etc) are key in life. Does the Bible have suggestions, and if so what can we learn? Are some logos culturally significant only? Do they become identifiers of a people? Can you think of any? Slide 8 Slide 9 Through nature, through types and symbols, through patriarchs and prophets, God had spoken to the world. Lessons must be given to humanity in the language of humanity... Christ must come to utter words which should be clearly and definitely understood. He the author of truth, must separate truth from the chaff of mans utterance... The lessons of the Old Testament must be fully set before man. pg 34, DA, pub. 1890 Slide 10 Slide 11 Slide 12 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
