The Progress+ Mentoring Programme from the Diana Award, engages
employees in oering valuable life skills and employability
development to a Diana Award Holder, who in turn is acng as aYouth Mentor to a young person in need.
The Progress+ Mentors are trained in their role to support young
people and follow a learning structure that supports their young person
through personal and professional training, advice and guidance sessions
including:
Personal and professional skills
How to apply for and aain work experience
Entrepreneurism
CV and Interview Skills
By compleng the programme young people have gained an insight into the
world of work, including career progression and dierent avenues. Their
aspiraons, condence and drive have been enhanced and they have been
supported to begin achieving their full potenal.
Our Progress+ Mentors have also gained from the experience of supporng
a young person.

Bethan received her Diana Award in 2007 for volunteering and
developing the peer mentoring programme in her school. As a creave
person Bethan rmly believes that the arts should be made moreaccessible. And so she hopes to run her own Community Arts
Company that is accessible to all.
She was Progress+ matched to Victoria, who
shares her Interests. Together they worked on
how Bethan could priorise her numerous
acvies and begin to embark on developing
the Community Arts Company that she
dreams of running.

Tasif received a Diana An-Bullying Champion
Award in 2008. He is very passionate about
empowering other young people to reach
their full potenal. As soon as we met Olivier
we knew he was a perfect Progress+ match
as he had a keen interest in enterprise and had
previously been a Senior School Mentor himself.
Before the programme Tasif was daunted by the
prospect of applying for Graduate programmes. With
the support of his Progress+ Mentor he began to feel more condent andtogether they worked hard on his applicaons. Tasif has now been oered
interviews for two courses!

Over the last six months they focussed on what Mathew is looking for in his
career and what success means to him. Since starng the programme he
has enrolled on a Prince2 Project Management course.
Mathew received a Diana Courageous Cizen Award in 2008 for
overcoming Leukaemia and raising money for
charity. He has a keen interest in current aairs,economics and business. He is also
passionate about helping people, especially
those facing an illness. He was matched to
Rhys because they share the same interests.

Liberty received her Diana Champion Fundraiser
Award in 2012. Liberty’s can do atude has seen
her involved with many projects inside and
outside of school. Liberty was unsure which
career interest to explore but she thought her
dream job might be working on human rights
documentaries in middle eastern countries.
Paula was the ideal match for Liberty as she has a wide range of career
knowledge and so they explored these avenues, improved presentaon
skills and condence. Liberty has since joined an educaon gap year tofurther develop her knowledge.

‘Mastering Confidence and Careers’Domenique received her Diana Award in 2009 for her involvement in
a lm to raise awareness of bullying and the eects of gun crime. She
currently has a part me job in a retail posion and is studying for a
BA Honours in acng for lm and television.
Laura, has experience of leaving school straight to work and so was
in the perfect posion to oer guidance on how to stand out of the
crowd. Domenique wanted to improve her condence alongside gaining
advice on how to deal with the pressures of her university and working life.
She has since decided on her next career step and will apply for a course in
America.

Fahan is a Diana Award Acve Campaigner
and received her Award in 2011. She is
passionate about sustainability and business.
She would love to have the chance to set up
investment banking operaons around the
world; especially back in her country of origin
Somalia.
Together with her Progress+ Mentor, Julia, they
worked on nding the right role that would meet
Fahan’s passion, values and skills. Fahan has nowbeen successful in securing a graduate job aer her
internship.

Bethany received her Diana An-Bullying Champion
Award in 2006. She is passionate about everything to
do with Geography and hopes to have a job where she
can work with young people within the eld. Shobithawas the perfect Progress+ match and over the last six
months they have explored career avenues and
increased Bethany’s condence.
Prior to the programme Bethany was set on being a teacher,
which she sll hopes to do, but is now keen to explore other
avenues to build her skills. Bethany has now secured her rst
paid job at university as a Residence Life Team Mentor!

‘Perfecting The Pitch’

Roper received his Diana Champion Fundraiser Award in 2007 for
raising money for charity in memory of his mother. He is a highly
movated individual and so Richard was an ideal Progress+ match tohelp him think about how to set up his own business and work on his
presentaon techniques.
At the start of the programme Roper wanted to secure a promoon and
with support from his Progress+ Mentor he achieved it!

Lorita received her Diana An-Bullying Champion Award in 2008 for being a
peer mediator at her school. She was teamed with Hannah as her Progress+
Mentor to give her ideas about post sixth-form life and support with university
decisions.
Lorita’s dream job is to become a Doctor and so with Hannah’s help she has
started prepping herself for this next step. Since starng the programme Lorita has
completed her CV, given a presentaon to over 100 people, sourced potenal work
placements, signed up to a rst aid-course, starng revising interview quesons for
medical courses and has selected a school in Romania that she would like to raisemoney for.

Mega is a 2008 Diana An-Bullying Champion. Since receiving her
Award Mega has set herself the dream of becoming a child
psychologist or counsellor. She is also devoted to her music career.
Mega was matched to her Progress+ Mentor, Rishi and throughout
the six months they chose to work together on improving Mega’s
condence when public speaking, understanding how to sell herself and
developing a sense of business acumen. Mega feels that she learnt a lot
from Rishi and that the Enterprise skills session gave her a insight into how
she could become an entrepreneur in the music industry.

Ellie is a 2011 Diana An-Bullying Champion. She
has a keen interest in polics and enjoys engaging in
youth opportunies. Alongside the Diana Awardshe gives a lot of her me to volunteering for
social acon which she regularly blogs about
on her site. Ellie was matched to Georgina and they
idened that they would like to focus on future
plans—which universies to apply to, dierent career
paths and organisaonal skills.
Since joining Progress+ Ellie has designed and launched herown social acon project which, she says, didn’t seem
possible six months ago.

‘Footsteps of Change’

Michelle received her Diana Champion Fundraiser Award in 2007.
She has a law degree and is passionate about music. She was
matched to Shan as her Progress+ Mentor. At the start of the
Programme Michelle was unsure which career path to follow: polics,law or music.
Since compleng the programme Michelle has decided to apply for
graduate jobs within sales and Paralegal posions whilst also applying for
work experience within Chambers and internships within the United Naon.
