ABOUT FLORIDA TECHFounded in 1958, Florida Tech is a private, regionally accredited university that makes its home in Melbourne, Florida. We are a world leader in the fields of aerospace and technology, and notable for having graduated a number of illustrious individuals. These graduates include 32 generals, two of which became four-star generals, and several astronauts.

The Nathan M. Bisk College of Business provides foundational knowledge in all areas of business while exposing student’s to today’s unique leadership challenges. “Florida Tech’s business programs arm professionals with the tools they need to excel in an ever-evolving global environment,” says Dr. S. Ann Becker, Dean. “The one-of-a-kind online learning platform combines collaborative education, innovative best practices and leading research. The college was named after Bisk Education founder and chairman Nathan M. THE COLLEGE OF PSYCHOLOGY AND LIBERAL ARTS

Encompassing disciplines like psychology, criminal justice and humanities, the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts is dedicated to the fascinating realm of the thoughts, behaviors, values and artistic contributions of human beings. “Our faculty is made up of scholars and researchers who are leaders within their disciplines,” says Dr. Mary Beth Kenkel, Dean. “They truly practice what they teach, and it’s their experience and wisdom that really drives the educational experience.”

As the largest of the five colleges at Florida Tech, the College of Engineering encompasses eight departments including the School of Computing. The mission of the College of Engineering is to educate our students in engineering theory, ethics and practice, and to expand our collective knowledge through novel research and discovery.

THE HARRIS INSTITUTE FOR ASSURED INFORMATIONFounded in 2009 by a grant from the Harris Corporation, The Harris Institute for Assured Information brings together computer science, psychology, business and biology to carry out cutting-edge research in computer security. With computer systems under continuous assault and cyber crime one of the biggest global threats, the goal of the institute is to change the way people think about the information that flows around them and to help drive a fundamental shift in how it is protected.

WHAT TYPES OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ARE AVAILABLE?

CORPORATE TUITION ASSISTANCEMany companies recognize the need for their employees to enhance their skill base and advance their education. Corporate tuition assistance may cover per-credit-hour costs, in addition to books and materials. For more information, contact your Human Resources department.

FEDERAL STUDENT AID – YOU COULD QUALIFY FOR UP TO $12,500 PER YEAR TOWARD YOUR DEGREEFederal Student Aid programs are the largest source of student aid in America. Take advantage of this opportunity by determining your eligibility with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

FEDERAL DIRECT LOANSThese student loans must be repaid and are available to both undergraduate and graduate students. If you qualify for a subsidized Federal Direct loan, the government will pay the interest on your loan while you are in school.

ALTERNATIVE LOANSPaying for higher education is a significant financial commitment. A variety of financial institutions offer private education loan products which can supplement other financial aid to help manage college costs.

PARENT PLUS LOANSDependent undergraduate students may be eligible for a Parent PLUS Loan. Parent PLUS Loans are additional unsubsidized loans made out to the parents of dependent students to help the student pay for education expenses. Maximum eligibility is the cost of attendance minus all other financial assistance. If a parent applies and does not qualify for a Parent PLUS Loan, the student may receive additional unsubsidized Federal Direct (Stafford) Loans.

FEDERAL PELL GRANTSFederal Pell Grants are available to undergraduate students only. Grants do not have to be repaid. The maximum Pell Grant for the academic award year is $5,775.

FLORIDA RESIDENT ACCESS GRANTEstablished Florida residents are eligible to receive a $3,000 grant toward Florida Tech tuition.
