FLORENCE DESIGN WEEK 2015 CREATIVE CITIES

Creative Cities is the theme chosen for the sixth edition of the festival, dedicated to the culture of the city on a human scale.Sustainability, smart cities, eco-tourism and luxury design are the key words of the event, that renews its Formats and crea-tes new international routes, with the goal of creating a smart edition in a virtuous dialogue between cities that combine that combine creativity, business, innovation, tradition and design. We think of the city as a culture, architecture, landscape and infrastructure; but also as a place of service, local products,

communities, places of imagination, the cradle of talents, rituals and traditions and human values. Where creativity is inspired,

the design turns it into reality in the service of residents, tourists and professionals

Creative Cities è il tema scelto per la VI° edizione di FLORENCE DESIGN WEEK - International Design festival,

dedicato alla cultura delle città a misura d’uomo.Sostenibilità, smart city, eco-lusso e tourism design sono le parole chiave del festival, che innova i suoi Formats e crea

nuovi assi internazionali, con l’obbiettivo di creare un’edizione smart, in un virtuoso dialogo tra città che uniscono la creatività al business, l’innovazione alla tradizione ed il design alla vita di tutti. Pensiamo alla città come cultura, architettura, paesaggi e infrastrutture; ma anche come luogo di servizi, produzioni locali,

comunità, luoghi dell’immaginazione, culla di talenti, rituali e tradizioni e valori umani. Laddove la creatività trae ispirazione, il

design la trasforma in realtà al servizio di residenti, turisti e professionisti.

V4 Young Design & Spring Emotions

“V4 Young Design & Spring Emotions” è un progetto orga-nizzato dal Consolato Onorario della Repubblica Ceca per la Toscana e dall’Associazione culturale italo-ungherese della Toscana, con il supporto di Visegrad Fund (www.visegradfund.org). Per la prima volta, si presentano insieme a Firenze i giovani desi-gner dei paesi del “Gruppo Vise-grad” (Repubblica Ceca, Slovac-chia, Polonia e Ungheria) promuovendo la cultura dell’Europa Centrale e favorendo così il dialogo interculturale, nello spirito “Life Beyond Touri-sm”(www.lifebeyondtourism.org/). L’allestimento è stato ideato e progettato da 8 giovani designer, di età inferiore ai 35 anni, che si raccontano tramite le loro opere di gioielleria, ceramica e vetro.

"V4 Young Design and Spring Emotions" is a project organized by the Honorary Consulate of Czech Republic in Tuscany and by the Italian-Hungarian Cultural Association of Tuscany, with the support of the "Interna-tional Visegrad Fund" (www.visegradfund.org). For the first time young desi-gners from countries of "Visegrad Group" (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary) meet in Floren-JL� °WYVTV[PUN� [OL�J\S[\YL�VM�*LU[YHS�,\YVWL° � HUK�LUJV\-raging the intercultural dialo-gue, in the spirit of "Life Beyond Tourism". The project involves 8 young designers under 35 years old exhibiting jewelry, ceramics and glass designs.

The essence of ShankoRugs is strongly rooted in Icelandic nature and culture, from designs inspired by rugged landscape to the unique making process. Creative People in Florence è una comunità vivace e internazionale di artisti, designers, artigiani e creativi, fondato per incoraggiare la colla-borazione, promuovere i progetti dei nostri membri e ravvivare le arti contemporanee a Firenze. Creative People in Florence nasce dalla collaborazione fra due artiste americane residenti a Firenze, Sara Amrhein (www.sara-amrhein.com) ed Anna Rose (www.annamrose.com). Per Florence Design Week, un gruppo di artisti selezionati dai membri del CPiF apriranno al pubblico i loro spazi di lavoro, presentando nuovi progetti di moda, gioielli e design, insieme a dimostrazioni, eventi ed altri lavori in corso. Oreste Ruggiero, architetto, artista e saggista, nel 1984 ha scritto il saggio Architettura la scomparsa di un’arte, con un’ introduzione dell’ architetto Giovanni Michelucci.Nel 1997, ha ideato e realizzato assieme allo storico dell’ architet-tura Bruno Zevi il congresso inter-nazionale di Modena, per il rilan-cio, dopo il Post Modern, dell’ “Architettura organica ed espres-sionista”, attraverso il grado zero dell’ arte e della paesaggistica.E’ docente presso la Facoltà di Architettura di Firenze nel Master “Valorizzazione e gestione in rete dei beni culturali e ambientali”.Ha redatto il piano di assetto artistico, urbanistico e architetto-nico del Settore 3 di Bucarest e del complesso urbanistico-termale della città di Montecatini.Ha eseguito, assieme all’ artista Mario Ceroli, l’ intervento artistico e architettonico del piano in uso al Capo della Polizia di Stato, nel palazzo del Viminale a Roma.

Ha progettato l’ assetto artisti-co architettonico dell’ anfitea-tro, della sala delle feste, dei teatri, della guest house del centro culturale della città di Doha, in Qatar; il Centro cultu-rale dell’Ambasciata di Libia a Roma; la mostra di Jorio Viva-relli in Palazzo Vecchio di Firen-ze e il recupero delle terme romane adiacenti al tempio di Serapide in Pozzuoli.Fa parte del gruppo di artisti MIRABILI dove presenta le sue opere di “Arte-canalizzazione”.

Il Grand Hotel Minerva è uno dei più antichi hotel fiorentini (1850) e si affaccia su Piazza S. M. Novella. A dicembre del 2014 nasce lo "Spazio Glicine ". E' uno spazio polifunzionale creato all'interno del negozio "La Fotocopia" di Via San Gallo 2/r a Firenze. Al suo interno ha un bellissimo giardino con al centro un glicine secolare da cui ne deriva il nome. In questo spazio vengono effettuate mostre, presentazioni di libri, performance, videoproiezioni, live music, ecc... inoltre può essere affittato ad associazioni, scuole, istituzioni e privati. Può offrire servizi di streaming, videoproiet-tori, hostess, catering, caffetteria, stampe, grafica, servizi fotografi-ci.

The activity of the multifunctional space “Spazio Glicine” started in December 2014, within the store "La Fotocopia" of Via San Gallo 2 / r a Florence. Its name derives from the secular wisteria which you can appreciate in the centre of the beautiful garden inside the space. The space welcomes exhibi-tions, book presentations, performances, video projec-tions, live music, etc ... and can also be rented to associations, schools, institutions and indivi-duals. It can offer streaming services, video projectors, hostess, catering, cafeteria, prints, graphics, and photo-graphic services.

Una lettera che diventa il nome di quell’azienda e il suo marchio di abbigliamento femminile.
