ALL MBS STUDY PROGRAMS:EXCELLENT BUSINESS EDUCATION

The Bachelor program at Munich Business School (MBS) combines up-to-date business knowledge with a strong inter-national focus and practical orientation. The modular design of the program allows our Bachelor students to choose their preferred study language (German or English), business specializations (Marketing, Finance, etc.), and international focus (Asia-Pacific, Arabia & Middle East, Spain, etc.). It also includes three practical phases and a study semester abroad. The study program offers many interesting choices, thus crea-ting an individual study profile for each student and giving them an excellent starting position in the professional job market. The MBS Bachelor program is – as all study programs at Munich Business School – accredited by FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation).

The Master International Business (MIB) program at MBS is a business program preparing future leaders for the challenges of modern management roles. It targets Bachelor graduates who aim for leading positions in international companies. Therefore, knowledge of complex global interrelations, expert knowledge and soft skills are central elements in our MIB study program. The program includes one study semester and one (optional) internship abroad as well as the option to obtain a second degree abroad. All MIB students at MBS can choose their preferred study language, International Focus and business concentrations.

Our Master program Sports Business and Communication (SBC) offers students with a Bachelor's or Master's degree the opportunity to specialize and obtain a degree in the field of Sports Business. The program combines sports, media and business in a unique way, making it the first of its kind in Germany. On a broad economic fundament, the studies focus on the essential stakeholders in sports, media, and business and their interaction. A semester and an (optional) internship abroad are included in the SBC program, which prepares its graduates for the specific requirements in the professional field of sports business.

EXECUTIVE MBA HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENTThe 24-month part-time Executive MBA in Health Care Management addresses employees and managers in all healthcare-related fields and is taught mainly in German. Participants complete a management practice-oriented study program specifically tailored to the needs and characteristics of the healthcare sector. An international week at Boston University School of Management offers new international perspectives and further networking opportunities.

EXECUTIVE EDUCATIONMunich Business School's Executive Excellence Development (EED) Program was developed as a response to growing industry demand. From individual courses to certified programs and Corporate MBAs, we put together tailor-made packages perfectly matching our partner companies' needs. The modular structure of the EED Program allows companies to start out on a single course with selected employees with the option to complete their Corporate MBA at a later stage.

The MBA General Management program is designed for managers and executives with clear goals, who either obtain or strive for leading positions, excellent business knowledge and management skills. This 24-month part-time program is taught entirely in English and is tailor-made for executives who want to keep working on their corporate career while at the same time enhancing their management know-how with lasting effect. Two weeks abroad at SDA Bocconi and Singapore Management University provide an additional international perspective and the opportunity for students to extend their global network.

EXECUTIVE MBA GENERAL MANAGEMENT

The "Munich MBA", the 15 month full-time MBA in Internati-onal Management at Munich Business School, prepares gra-duates to work in a complex multicultural world. It is focused on international candidates with a non-business degree, but offers enough depth for business degree holders seeking to further refine and strengthen their education.

MILESTONES OF MBS:OUR SUCCESS STORY

1991Munich Business School is founded in 1991 (at that time named "Europäische Betriebswirtschaftsakademie") by the European Business Schools International (ebsi) London, Paris, Madrid, and Milan. The initiators pursue one purpose above all others: to establish new bench-marks for practical orientation and internationality for business education in the economic center of Southern Germany.

1999The success of the conception and realization of the international business curriculum convinces corporate partners as well as state authorities: the school becomes the first state-accredited private university in Bavaria.

2003The university is renamed Munich Business School (MBS). MBS is one of the first to adopt the new Bachelor and Master system. A three-year Bachelor program is introduced.

2004The full-time Master in International Business program is initiated to keep in line with the changing European academic regulations.

2005The 24-month Executive MBA General Management program is introduced to fulfill the need for a high-quality, internationally oriented business education for expe- rienced professionals.

2006The international options "Asian-Pacific Business Studies" and "Arabian and Middle Eastern Business Studies" are introduced in the Bachelor program to fulfill the growing need for experts in these two regions. Graduation of the first Bachelor and Master students.

2007MBS extends its offering: Within the Executive Education on an academic level, Munich Business School develops seminars and courses for managers and tailor-made programs for companies.

2008"Russian and Eastern European Business Studies" becomes the sixth international option of the Bachelor's program. Moreover, all Bachelor programs are offered in German and English. The Executive MBA Health Care Management starts for the first time and MBS develops the first Corporate MBA program.

2009 The full-time Master in International Business is offered entirely in English (English Track) as well as in German/English (German Track) for the first time. The new concentrations "International Family Firms" and "Luxury Management" are introduced in the Master International Business program.

2010As the first university in Bavaria, Munich Business School receives an institutional accreditation by the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat).Due to the high demand and success of the MBA General Management Program, a second program start in March is introduced.

2011MBS introduces a new Master program in Sports Busi-ness and Communication at the beginning of the 2011 fall semester. The program, which is the first of its kind in Germany, is established and directed by the renowned media and communication expert Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Josef Hackforth.

2012In the spring semester 2012, MBS has a matriculation of about 600 students. Since its founding MBS has had almost 1000 graduates.

2013The full-time MBA program International Management will start in the fall semester 2013/2014. Munich Business School extends its portfolio in Executive Education programs: four certificate courses are on offer covering a wide array of topics from „Business Coach MBS“ to „Luxury Business Management“.

THE BUSINESS WORLD IS DEMANDING: BE PREPARED

It is our goal at Munich Business School to prepare you for the challenges of the business world. Our lecturers and professors, a lot of them in leading positions at international corporations, have their fingers firmly on the pulse of today's global marketplace. They know first-hand what it takes to stay successful, and you'll have full access to their expertise. That's how our Master courses and projects help you develop and refine the skills you need to "make it".

Page 7: Program Brochure MAE IB

A solid foundation of economic theory and academics is essential to your future success, whether you find it in the top tiers of a corporation or at the vanguard of a new enterprise. That's why Munich Business School instills each student with the state-of-the-art academic background that you'll need in order to be a well-rounded and thoroughly grounded professional. With their executive positions in renowned corporations, our lecturers know how business theory translates into real-life corporate practice – and they pass on their knowledge directly to you.

THEORY MEETS PRACTICE

Only very few are natural born leaders. But the rest of us can cultivate the traits that make us original thinkers, persuasive negotiators and encouraging managers. With classes like "Business Ethics", "Managerial Communication and Negotiation Skills", and "International Leadership", a solid portion of our curriculum is dedicated to the increasingly vital "soft skills" needed in today's business environment. The results of our regular evaluations confirm: Our students value the healthy dose of personality and management training the MIB program offers.

LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

At Munich Business School, "being international" is not just a catchphrase – it's a state of mind and a way of living. Our faculty and our students hail from all over the world and ensure that a global spirit fills our classrooms. The mandatory semester abroad gives our students first-hand experience of life and business in different cultures. And besides collabo-rating with international corporations, and teaching hard facts in classes on international business methods, we foster an openness to and understanding of different cultures by offering classes like "Intercultural Communication" and "Intercultural Etiquette".

INTERCULTURAL EXPERTISE

Time is a precious resource. It's important both to rise to the occasion when a new project needs to be tackled, and to immediately adapt whenever circumstances change. The many different projects that are at the core of the MIB program confront you with real-life business situations and hone your flexibility and stress resistance. You'll learn the joys of success and the disappointment of failure, and you'll never forget. That's not all: You'll get a wealth of experience analyzing, presenting, negotiating, and managing projects. Many of the challenges a leading business professional deals with on a daily basis are the same basic tasks needed to navi-gate our Master program.

You'll build a solid foundation of business knowledge and experience at Munich Business School – that goes without saying. But we also provide you with a "big picture" perspective on how historical and cultural developments affect cur-rent events. The courses "Business and Society” and "Business Ethics" are a vital part of your curriculum at Munich Business School. "The lecturers of the MIB program at MBS communicate the status quo of their fields in a descriptive and practical manner. Not only do they teach in the traditional sense, but student questions and feedback also directly influence the content, form and methodology. This is possible because MBS is not a place of mass production, but rather a place of personal contact between all parties. Students and lecturers share their experience and are committed to understanding and mastering business challenges."

Most corporations today depend on working with interns. They are a win-win concept for everyone involved: The corporation gets highly qualified support for under-staffed departments and our students gain invaluable insights into the inner workings of a company, all while enjoying the opportunity to discover whether their favorite areas of work really suit them. Graduate theses from our Master students are similarly beneficial. For these large- scale endeavors, you have the opportunity to contribute your findings to an actual project – not merely to the professor's drawer – and to provide the respective company with valuable research. What you'll get in return is nothing less than great connections or even your first job offer.

Europe and the United States, China and the rest of Asia, the Arab world and Latin America. Though basic principles apply everywhere, international markets are shaped by their poli-tical, cultural, and historical landscapes. A good share of our coursework is therefore dedicated to exploring international markets, international business methods and specific econo-mies that are currently impacting global business.

INTERNATIONAL MARKETS IN THE CURRICULUM

As a Master student, you will spend a mandatory semester on a foreign campus. With exceptional and diverse partner uni-versities around the globe (you can find a selection of MBS partner universities on the left side), we invite our students to gain valuable first-hand experience, explore new horizons, and deepen their international understanding.

SEMESTER ABROAD

At MBS, we welcome students from over 40 countries. Whether they come as exchange students from our partner universities or as degree-seeking Bachelor or Master stu-dents, they all seem to agree that Munich is a great place to live and Munich Business School is an excellent choice for business studies.

International students might have unique concerns: visa issues, health insurance, housing – to name just a few. Fortunately, our International Office is there to offer hands-on support. Its dedicated staff also organizes two special orientation days for international students to help them get started with their life in Munich. Orientation takes place shortly before the official program start in early September. Both days cover a variety of subjects and give our new students the necessary support to organize their daily life (internet, phone, medical insurance, registering at the Alien Registration Office, public transport etc.) in Munich. Before the program starts, international students also have the opportunity to attend a German Intensive Course.

General information for international students is available at www.munich-business-school.de/for-internationals.

The International Buddy Program at MBS is a student initiative which supports the International Office as well as the Interna-tional Programs at MBS. The initiative serves as an exchange platform for new international students and current MBS students. A PEEK INTO OUR CLASS ROOMS

If you open the doors to our classrooms, you'll most likely see students engaging in heated debates or putting their heads together to tackle tough business assignments. At Munich Business School, we firmly believe that the more you are personally invested in a task, the more you take away from it. That's why many of our courses include lively, hands-on projects that encourage both collaboration and competition. Learn how to put your ego aside and work within a team. Enjoy the thrills of success, and weather occasional setbacks without succumbing to defeat. Our special courses are what distinguishes our MIB program. And they will distinguish you as a person.

Management is a major part of your future – and here at Munich Business School, you get to dive into the deep end and develop your management skills on a real-world project. You'll complete a project commissioned by a company – past participants include Audi, BMW, or FC Bayern Munich as well as companies of various sizes and sectors in Germany – and have the chance to see this corporation adopt and utilize your efforts. This is your professional introduction to project management: You'll set milestones, delegate jobs, and deliver presentations in the executive boardrooms of high-profile clients. High pressure? No doubt about it. But tremendously rewarding, too.

BUSINESS PROJECT

Next to heading up an actual company, this computer-based business game – also used by some of the world's largest companies – is the best way to understand the inner workings of corporations. Run a virtual enterprise as part of a team, put your management instincts to the test, and see how every decision affects the entire company. Your goal: Increase the Economic Value Added of your business until you've overtaken your competition. You'll come face to face with the joy of success and the disappointment that comes with failure. And what you'll learn will stay with you throughout your career.

BUSINESS GAME

The central question: What are the most effective ways to manage and market innovations? To help you find your own answers, we offer the Forum Innovation Management, an entirely student-designed course and another example of our cutting-edge teaching approach. There's no curriculum – you and your fellow students brainstorm the goals you'd like to achieve and decide which steps will take you there. Then you build teams, choose corporate collaborators, and move forward with your chosen project. During this course, teachers act as coaches, supporting you on your way to success. They have an open ear for individual conversations and go the extra mile to help you develop your "business personality”.

fORUM INNOVATION MANAGEMENT

Your voice will be heard: The feedback that you provide is important to us. At the end of each semester, you'll write anonymous student evaluations that play a significant part in our decision-making process for the next semester.

Real corporate input: We are in a constant dialogue with corporate leaders, many of whom are also guest lecturers at MBS. Their insight helps us update and customize our courses and ensure that they reflect today's business practices. Result: a learning environment where traditional academics are en-livened by direct connections to the business world that you'll enter upon graduation.

"In planning, organizing and implementing the MBS Symposium 2011, the students from the organization team have really achieved something special. The level of speakers, contents, workshops and discussions was very impressive."

The MBS Symposium is the one of the highlights in the event calendar of Munich Business School – an event featuring top-notch personalities and leaders from politics, science and international business. One central current issue is highlighted from different perspectives and in different formats: from keynote speeches and workshops to expert panels and lively discussions with the audience. The MBS Symposium is organized by students of Munich Business School and has – since its premiere in 2008 – traditionally taken place in October.

The topics of the MBS Symposium: MBS Symposium 2012: Africa Business Day MBS Symposium 2011: Raw Materials MBS Symposium 2010: Generation Green MBS Symposium 2009: Enterprise Champions League MBS Symposium 2008: Business Meets Top-class SportFurther information is available at www.mbs-symposium.de.

MBS SYMPOSIUM

Another annual top event organized by MBS students is the Munich Venture Summit (MVS). Since its debut in 2009, the MVS has become an established part of the German business founders' scene. It brings together potential com- pany founders, start-up businesses, investors and the interes- ted public in different formats ranging from lectures, case studies and company presentations to discussion groups and workshops. A highlight at the MVS 2011 was the newly intro-duced "speed-dating" session between founders and investors offering a great chance for network expansion as well as actual options for cooperation. The MVS is traditionally organized by members of the MBS student initiative "MBS innovate!".Further information is available at www.munich-venture-summit.de.

MUNICH VENTURE SUMMIT

The Luxury Business Day (LBD) is a format introduced by Munich Business School and "Inlux - Institut für Luxus", as the first industry event highlighting the importance of luxury as a crucial part in the economic generation of value.

The LBD 2011 aimed to cross the invisible frontiers that exist between luxury brands in different industries and host a discussion titled "Luxury – Made in Germany” between economists and executives on the future perspectives of different sectors in the German luxury goods industry. Keynote speakers of the LBD 2011 came from renowned luxury brands such as Montblanc, Lange und Söhne, Strenesse or Porsche. The LBD 2012 again featured the topic of luxury made in Germany with a focus on the "Success of Young and Innovative Brands". The third LBD in June 2013 covers the topic of "Digital Luxury – Online strategies of successful luxury brands".

Munich Business School is the only university in Germany offering the luxury topic on Master study level with its business concentration "Luxury Management" in the Master International Business program. The LBD is co-organized by MBS Master students from this business concentration. Further information is available at www.luxury-business.de.

Do job interviews make your blood run cold? Could you use some help handling résumés and applications? No problem. At Munich Business School, you'll learn how to impress potential employers and excel in assessment centers. And our Career Center team ensures that you always have a helping hand. Our secret weapon, however, is the Graduate Book: a list of our graduates – including résumés, photos, and contact info – that goes out to several hundred companies and corporations. Don't be too surprised if this book lands you a job offer: You wouldn't be the first.

The MBS Career Day is a communication platform bringing together companies and students in order to create a high-value network and fitting job opportunities. Goal of the MBS Career Day is to facilitate the first contact between applicants and employers and give both parties the chance of a solid first impression. The event takes place on the premises of MBS and is open to students from all programs and semesters. It inclu-des a fair, workshops and company visits.

Alumni Careers is a series of events featuring MBS alumni who come back to their alma mater and talk about their professional careers. They give career advice, share their experiences as (young) professionals and describe how their careers have developed after they left Munich Business School. These net-working events give current MBS students a great opportu-nity to benefit from the experiences of their predecessors and use this knowledge to kick-start their own professional career.

TRADITION & TECHNOLOGY:WELCOME TO MUNICH

MBS is located in one of Germany's most beautiful cities. Munich offers the best of both worlds: the serenity of a classical city, and the energy of a cultural hotspot and international business hub. Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Alps, full of quirky details, and steeped in tradition, Munich is perfect for anyone who wants to learn and live in an inspiring setting.

Page 29: Program Brochure MAE IB

2928

Strewn with German corporations (e.g. BMW, Allianz, Siemens) and global players (Microsoft, General Electric, Intel, Google), Munich is one of Europe's most vibrant economic centers. The leading industries are new techno-logies, media, life sciences, and automotive. But small and large companies from all industries find Munich's business environment stimulating. In line with our commitment to real- world relevance, Munich Business School has been cultivating close relations to the region's corporations for years – and our students benefit from our robust network when they look for internships, partner companies for their theses, and employment after graduation.

BUSINESS HUBWORLD CITY WITH HEART

Even when you're new to Munich, a wealth of extracurricular activities – e.g. organized by our student initiative "students-clubbing e.V." and ranging from student parties to cultural events – will save you from feeling lost or lonely. An annual highlight is the MBS Wintertrophy, a long weekend in the snowy Alps that our students organize every year. Munich also offers countless sights, museums, restaurants, bars... and let's not forget "Oktoberfest," the world's largest beer festival. Yes, you will study hard at Munich Business School, but you will also have the time of your life in Munich.

EXTRACURRICULAR GOLDMINE

As a city, Munich offers a unique symbiosis of quality of living and business. The "world city with heart" is one of the most popular cities in Germany and, due to its wealth of culture and art, THE Bavarian metropolis. Anybody who studies, works and lives in Munich quickly comes to appreciate the advantages the city and region have to offer.

Munich is a center for art and culture and is seen as the "secret capital" of Germany. It boasts a wealth of sights, in-cluding the famous Frauenkirche, the English Garden, the Pinakotheken, the Olympic Stadium and much more. Also described as "Italy‘s most northern city", a sense of southern flair can be felt everywhere in Munich – the Alps and the neighboring countries are only a stone‘s throw away.

In addition to the state‘s world class stages, such as the opera at the National Theater or the Resident Theater, Munich provides a multitude of outdoor theaters, cabaret stages, dance stages and small art stages. Also culture and event centers such as the Gasteig, the Schlachthof or the Kult-fabrik have reputations which reach far beyond the city limits. A multitude of first-class museums offer insights into art, culture and technology. Because of its location in the Bavarian metropolis, Munich Business School provides ideal conditions for students, inside and outside of the lecture halls. This stimulating background is ideal for meeting the demands of the comprehensive general standard of education we pride ourselves to provide.
