PROGRAM OVERVIEWPROGRAM ASSESSMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION

This 3-day interactive and ‘hands-on’ workshop is one of

CLICKS's most popular programs and aims at developing

participants’ skills in regards to designing, implementing,

and managing program assessment programs and

plans that lead to continuous improvement. This involve

articulating measureable program learning outcomes,

developing curriculum maps, selecting assessment

methods, using various data collection and data reporting

methods, and the importance of considering results for

program continuous improvement.

The program will begin by exposing participants to

the fundamentals of program assessment, its purpose,

benefits, and challenges and how to successfully develop

and implement a program assessment plan including

identifying the most appropriate program assessment

methods and establishing criteria for success. It will also

stress on the actual process of conducting assessment

activities as well as on interpreting data and using

results for continuous improvement. The role of various

stakeholders in program assessment will be discussed in

detail during the 3 days of the program.

By the end of this program participants will be able to:

• Understand the assessment process and what

constitutes well-designed assessment plans

• Articulate program mission, goals, and learning

outcomes which can explicitly describe the skills,

knowledge, and attitudes students develop as a result

of a program of study

• Design and conduct effective assessment plans and

identify strategies and methods to collect assessment

data

• Choose the most appropriate assessment methods

to obtain valid data to evaluate specific student and

program outcomes

• Comprehend the connection between GE, co-curricular

experiences, and campus activities and the overall

student learning experience

PROGRAM FACILITATOR

Dr. Lejla Vrazalic was formerly the Campus Programme Coordinator for Business and IT programmes at Middlesex University in Dubai. Prior to this, she held the position of Chair of the College of Business at the University of Wollongong in Dubai (UAE). Dr. Vrazalic has more than ten years of experience in the higher education sector, having held various positions and taught in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and the UAE. In 2006, Dr. Vrazalic was awarded a Citation for educational leadership by the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, the national governing body for higher education in Australia. Dr. Vrazalic has been responsible for establishing an integrated university-wide program for educational development of students and teachers.

She has chaired and presented at a number of educational conferences and workshops in the areas of teaching and learning. In 2004, Dr. Vrazalic was awarded the Australian Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Business Community Partnerships. The same year, Dr. Vrazalic was recognised with the overall Vice Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning at the University of Wollongong in Australia. Dr. Vrazalic also received the University of Wollongong Medal in 1999. In addition to her roles in educational development and leadership, Dr. Vrazalic held the position of Research Chair for two years, and was a founding member of the UAE Heads of Research Group. Dr. Vrazalic is also an international assessor for the Australian Research Council (ARC).

PROGRAM DURATIONThis 3-day program is organized from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with one hour dedicated

for lunch break and 2 coffee breaks of 20 min each. Kindly be informed that registration

will take place on the first day of the program from 8:30 to 9:00.

TARGET AUDIENCEThis program is geared towards program administrators, heads of departments, and

faculty members involved with the design, development, assessment, and review

of academic programs. In addition to managers and staff members working in

institutional research, quality assurance, and institutional effectiveness offices.

PROGRAM DELIVERY STRATEGYThe program will include a variety of methods such as lectures, discussions, case studies’

presentation, and many practical individual and group activities.

PROGRAM FEES, REGISTRATION, AND DISCOUNTS

• All CLICKS programs take place in 4 or 5-star hotels and are inclusive of lunch and

two coffee breaks for each day of the program

• The program fee for the three-day program is 3,000 AED. The Program fee is exclusive

of the 5% VAT which is to be added

• A 15% for individual registration and 20% for group registration early bird is available

and ends on 25th September, 2019

• Group discounts varying between 15-25% are available for groups of 3 and above

depending on the date by which the group registered

• Registration is confirmed only upon receiving the full payment of the program fee.

No on-site payment is accepted
