Silvia Iranzo

Secretary of State for Commerce

MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, TOURISM AND TRADE

Member of the State Body of Trade Specialists and Economists since 1987 she holds a degree in Economics from the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid.

She has been General Director for Foreign Investments at the General Directorate of Foreign Transactions and General Director for International Economy at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. She was head of the Foreign Investments Registry from 2003 to 2005. Since September 2005 she was Head of Country Risk at Bank of Spain.

Clark Callahan

Executive Director

Drawing on his extensive experience in executive development in the U. S. and Europe, Clark Callahan has management responsibility for all executive education and non-degree programs at the Tuck School. In addition, he works closely with corporate clients on custom engagements and consortium programs.

Since coming to Tuck in 2003, Clark Callahan has led the Tuck Executive Education team in the development, design, and delivery of a wide variety of executive

Prior to joining Tuck, Clark was managing director of Strategic Management Group (SMG) UK-Europe, a Philadelphia-based provider of simulation-based executive education. He was responsible for SMG’s UK and Europe sales and delivery operations and served on the parent company’s executive committee. In addition to working directly with clients and managing client relationship teams, Clark held posts directing the firm’s global partners’ network and its professional services group. In each of these capacities, he worked with teams to design and deliver learning solutions for a wide variety of global 1000 firms.

Before joining SMG, Clark spent eight years at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. While there, he held a number of posts including director of the Wharton Small Business Development Center, which advises early-stage companies, and lecturer in entrepreneurial management. Clark taught entrepreneurial decision making in Wharton’s entrepreneurial management program, and was also responsible for administering Wharton’s curriculum in entrepreneurship.

Prior to his assignments at Wharton, Clark was a project manager in the Corporate Strategy Group at CIGNA Corporation.

Clark holds a master's degree in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor of arts from Franklin & Marshall College.

Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño

Dean IE BUSINESS SCHOOL

Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño is the Rector of IE University and the Dean of IE Business School. He studied at Madrid’s Complutense University and Oxford University, UK. Iñiguez de Onzoño is a Doctor of Law and holds an MBA from IE Business School.

Iñiguez has worked as a management consultant and has played an active role in the field of quality control and development of management education in Europe. He is member of the boards of EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), the International Advisory Board of AMBA (Association of MBAs, UK),

As expert in management education, Iñiguez is a regular speaker at international conferences and frequently contributes in different academic journals and media on this subject.

Iñiguez is Professor of Strategic Management at IE Business School. He has published several articles and case studies on business management. He is also author and co-author of several articles and books in the field of moral and political philosophy.

David Kennedy

Vice President of International Affairs

BROWN UNIVERSITY

David Kennedy is Brown University's vice president for international affairs, interim director of the University’s Watson Institute for International Studies, and the David and Marianna Fisher University Professor of International Relations.

His research explores global governance, development policy, and the nature of professional expertise, and he has been committed to developing new voices from the Third World and among women in international affairs.

Professor Kennedy has been the Manley O. Hudson Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. He also practices law and has worked on commercial and public international projects with the United Nations, the European Commission, and the private firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton in Brussels.

He is author of Economic Development: An Intellectual History (Princeton University Press, forthcoming); The Rights of Spring: A Memoir of Innocence Abroad (Princeton, 2009); The Canon of American Legal Thought (co-author, Princeton,

Kenneth P. Morse

Senior Lecturer and Managing Director

MIT ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTER

Ken Morse is a serial entrepreneur, having played a key role in launching several high-tech start-ups, including 3Com Corporation, Aspen Technology, an expert systems company, and a biotech firm. Ken's batting average is 0.833: five of his start-ups went public or were successfully merged; one was a complete disaster. As head of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center, Ken is responsible for inspiring, training, and coaching new generations of entrepreneurs from all parts of MIT. Ken has been profiled and quoted in numerous publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Economist, and Red Herring.

Since Ken joined the MIT Entrepreneurship Center in 1996, the number of students taking Entrepreneurship Courses has increased from 220 to 1,500 per year while the number of professors and lecturers has grown from two to thirty. He has raised $ 20+ million endowment for the E-Center. Ken was named “Education All Star” by Mass High Tech magazine. Ken serves as an advisor to China Capital Ventures, LLC, Darby Overseas Investments, Ltd., PolyTechnos Venture-Partners GmbH, and SINTEF A/S. He has been an instructor in sales at the Munich Entrepreneur Academy for several years and has taught a global sales strategies workshop in several European cities. Ken, an American, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Cercle Royal Gaulois Artistique & Litteraire (Brussels), and the Quissett Yacht Club. He speaks fluent French and some Chinese. Concurrent with his MIT duties, Ken holds the Chair in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Competitiveness in the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management at the Delft Technical University. When he is not helping young companies to succeed, Ken enjoys sailing his wooden boat with his family around Cape Cod.

Alfons Sauquet

Dean

ESADE BUSINESS SCHOOL

Alfons Sauquet Rovira is the Dean of ESADE Business School and professor of the department of Human Resource Management at ESADE. He holds a Doctorate from Colombia University and a Master in Organisational Psychology from the same university. He also graduated with an MBA from ESADE, and an MsC in Psychology from the University of Barcelona.

Sauquet took up the post of dean of ESADE Business School in March 2008. He was previously the Vice-dean of Research and Knowledge and director of the university degrees in Business and Management at ESADE. His areas of research include conflict management and team learning, innovation, leadership and knowledge.

Sauquet currently chairs the academic committee of the Observatory for the Spanish Multinational Companies, serves on the board of Human Resource Development Review and is a member of the Academic Council of the International Association of Human Resources in International Organisations. He also plays a leading role in a number of organizations focusing on improving innovation processes such as Creapolis (creativity park); Barcelona Digital; and the Innovation Board.

He has held the position of president of the Inter-faculty Group on Organisational Behaviour of the Community of European Management Schools. Similarly, Sauquet has taught at HEC, Paris; Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Wharton School of Economics and Copenhagen Business School and at the summer school of the European Doctoral Association for Management in Business Administration. He has been a guest academic at UNESCO and to the United Nations Development Program.

Sauquet has directed research projects funded by the European Commission on learning in small and medium-sized businesses in four countries. He is the principal researcher in the Learning and Knowledge in Organizations Research Group (GRACO) and Spanish Ministry of Education and Science adviser on educational quality programs. Additionally he is participating in the process towards the development of the European Institute of Technology energy cluster.

Leonard A. Schlesinger

President BABSON COLLEGE

Leonard A. Schlesinger became the 12th president of Babson College on July 1, 2008--bringing to the College an extraordinary blend of leadership experience in academia and industry, particularly in the retail and service sectors. He came to Babson from Limited Brands, based in Columbus, Ohio, where he served in executive positions since 1999, most recently as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer. Among his accomplishments, he dramatically strengthened customer and employee loyalty, resulting in increased profitability. Earlier in his career, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Au Bon Pain.

His academic career includes twenty years at Harvard Business School where, most recently, he served as the George Fisher Baker Jr. Professor of Business Administration, leading MBA and executive education programs. Courses he taught include organizational behavior, human resource management, general management, and service management. President Schlesinger is well-known for his pioneering research and publications on the “service profit chain.” He also was an architect and chair of Harvard Business School’s MBA Essential Skills and Foundations programs. After his time at Harvard Business School, he served as a faculty member and senior administrator at Brown University.

In addition, President Schlesinger has lectured and consulted on service quality and customer satisfaction for over 100 major corporations, non-profit organizations, as well as governments and international leadership organizations around the world. He was an active leader in the design and development of the “Work-Out!” initiative at General Electric and the “Reinventing Government” process for the U.S. Department of Labor.

His writings on organizational management have been widely published. He is the author or co-author of nine books, including The Value Profit Chain (Free Press, 2003), The Service Profit Chain (Free Press, 1997) and The Real Heroes of Business… and Not a CEO among Them (Doubleday Currency, 1994), and has written over 40 articles for academic audiences as well as for The New York Times, Fast Company, and Harvard Business Review. He has served on the editorial boards of four major academic journals and has published numerous case studies on management issues that have sold well over one million copies. He also has completed three video series and a satellite teleseminar on service management issues.

President Schlesinger currently serves as a Board Member of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and is a member of the Corporation of the Winsor School. His past Board service includes Borders Group, Inc., The Columbus Foundation, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, GC Companies Inc., Limited Brands, Pegasystems, Inc., and The Ohio State University Medical Center Partners.

President Schlesinger holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in American Civilization from Brown University. His wife, Phyllis, is a management professor specializing in organizational behavior and a former faculty member of Babson College and The Ohio State University’s Fisher School of Business. They have three daughters.

ERIC WEBER

Professor of Accounting and Control

IESE Business School

Professor Eric Weber is associate dean for IESE Business School and Director of IESE’s Center in New York. He is a member of the Executive Committee of IESE and a member of the Harvard Business School - IESE Advisory Committee. Previously, he was the associate dean for the MBA program and later he was the associate dean for Executive Education and Executive MBA Programs, and the academic director for the Global Executive MBA program.

Dr. Weber earned his Ph.D. in Management (Accounting and Information Systems) from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, and his MBA from IESE. He also holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Universidad Simón Bolivar in Venezuela.

A professor in the department of accounting and control, his main areas of interest are management and control systems, advanced cost accounting systems (ABC, TOC, etc.), the impact formal accounting systems have on managerial decision-making, and the regulation of the auditing market; particularly in relation to the differences between North American and European systems as well as between specific countries within the European Union.

Dr. Weber is also a visiting professor to the following business schools: Instituto de Altos Estudios Empresariales (IAE) of the Universidad Austral in Argentina; Lagos Business School in Nigeria; Strathmore Business School in Kenya; Escuela de Dirección de la Universidad de Piura in Peru; IPADE in Mexico, and IEEM in Uruguay.

He is a member of the Research Policy Task Force of GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) in Virginia, USA, where he also served in 2001. He has also been on the GMAC – MBA Roundtable MBA Leadership Conference planning group in 2001 and 2002.

In addition to his academic activities, Professor Weber also consults in various companies across a broad range of industries and serves on several boards of directors.

Alejandra Kindelán

Associate Managing Director

of the Communications, Corporate Marketing

and Research Division BANCO SANTANDER

Ms Kindelán joined Santander’s Research Department in 1994 where she was in charge of the international economy. In 2001 she was appointed as Head of Research and Public Policy Department at Banco Santander.

Among her current responsibilities, Ms. Kindelán coordinates Santander’s position in regulatory and non-regulatory issues, macroeconomic analysis and research on Spain, Eurozone, UK and Latin American countries for the Group’s Financial Division and other support and business areas. She and her team also provide support to the Bank’s top management (chairman and board members) in drafting speeches, articles and presentations.

Since 2005 she chairs the European Banking Federation’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee.

Prior to joining Santander Ms. Kindelán worked as a consultant for the World Bank. She holds a double degree in Economics and Political Science (summa cum laude) from Wellesley College (Wellesley, Massachusetts) and has completed post graduate programmes in IESE (Madrid) and INSEAD (Fontainebleau).

Mara Aspinall

Mara Aspinall is a biotechnology executive with experience in diagnostics, oncology and personalized medicine. She is currently on sabbatical from Genzyme at Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute focused on the implementation of personalized medicine into physician education, clinical practice and research. For the last seven years, Mara was President of Genzyme Genetics, a leading provider of testing in the oncology and reproductive markets. Genzyme Genetics is a business unit of Genzyme Corporation, one of the world's largest biotechnology firms with more than 10,000 employees and $4 billion in revenue.

Under Mara's leadership, Genzyme Genetics set the standard for quality in the industry, while growing the business at an unprecedented pace. The business expanded its scope and market reach to become one of the nation’s largest diagnostic laboratories. The division successfully integrated four acquisitions, broadened its R&D and initiated community education programs.

Mara is a frequent national and international industry speaker. She is an active member of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Genetics, Health and Society as well as Vice Chairman of the Personalized Medicine Coalition. She recently co-authored, “Realizing the Promise of Personalized Medicine” in Harvard Business Review.

Mara is Board Chairman of Predictive Biosciences, a venture backed company creating non-invasive cancer diagnostics.

Her career started at Bain & Company. Mara is a graduate of Tufts University in International Relations and Harvard Business School.

Andrés Ballesteros

CEO VIVIA BIOTECH

Andrés is founding partner and CEO of Vivia Biotech, one of Spain’s leading biotech companies. As Vivia´s CEO he led the company’s seed financing round, which is the historic record for seed capital financing of biotech in Spain, and has commanded the company successfully for the last three years bringing it to the verge of clinical trials for its lead compounds, for which he expects to raise a second round of financing by year’s end.

Andrés graduated from Law School at the University of Barcelona (Spain), and has an L.LM degree by Fordham University School of Law in New York. Andrés is admitted to practice in Spain and New York (USA), where he worked as a lawyer at Banco Santander and as a senior associate at Hunton & Williams LLP.

After more than eight years in New York, he decided to move back to Spain to create his own company. Before launching his company, he completed the full time International MBA program at Instituto de Empresa, where he prepared the original business plan of his company, which he funded a year and a half later. Andrés also teaches biotech entrepreneurship at Instituto de Empresa’s Master in Biotechnology Management.

Jesús Encinar

Founder and CEO

Founder and CEO of Idealista.com, the leading real estate portal in Spain, and of 11870.com, one of the Spanish websites more widely used to save favorite places and services.

He graduated in Business Administration in the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE). He holds a MBA degree from the Harvard Business School. Once finished

Upon returning to Europe he worked for Wolff Olins, the leading company regarding branding and brand strategy. As European Consulting and Naming Director, he named and developed the identity of Vueling, Ono and Acciona.

Furthermore he is partner adviser of TopRural and Rentalia.com, and other Internet projects such as rockola.com

He usually writes in his blog JesusEncinar.com. In 2008 he was appointed member of the World Economic Forum.

Defred G. Folts, III (Fritz)

Principal & Member of the Investment Committee

Mr. Folts is a Principal and Investment Committee Member of Windward Investment Management, Inc. in Boston. Windward is a global-macro focused, investment advisory firm with over $2.3 billion in assets under management. He joined Windward in 2003 from Lehman Brothers and has over 15 years of investment industry experience. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Folts was co-founder and President of Saugatuck Securities, Inc., a registered broker/dealer firm that provided private place ment and investment banking services to hedge fund and private equity firms. Mr. Folts began his career at The Boston Company where he ultimately served as the Director of Global Funding for the Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Co. (UK) Ltd. in London. He received his BA from Connecticut College, and his MBA from IESE (Instituto de Estudios Superiores de la Empresa) in Barcelona. After receiving his MBA, Mr. Folts worked for the CH Werfen Group of Barcelona, Spain where he focused on cross-border European and U.S. M&A activity.

Mr. Folts serves on the Visitors Committee of the Fenn School in Concord, MA. He enjoys golf, alpine skiing, upland field training of his Labrador retrievers and fishing for striped bass in the Kennebec River region of mid-coast Maine.

David Masó

As a serial entrepreneur David Masó has launched a number of start-ups based on the Internet and disruptive mobile technologies. He founded FuturLink, a company providing Mobile Marketing platforms empowering the creation of new interactive communication channels, loyalty programs and transactional services at the point of sale with customers in more than 65 countries around the world. Now he is in the process of launching Qporama, a digital couponing platform providing services to both consumers (through geo-located discounts based on their preferences) and retailers (driving the target market to the right shopping area) using mobile phones, Internet and IP-TV. David Masó is a graduate of both the ESADE Business School and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and holds an Engineering Telecommunications Degree from the Universidad Politecnica de Cataluña.
