What will Proficiency Week 2016 look like?Once you’ve registered for Proficiency Week, we’ll get you to send through class lists so we can create logins for each student. You’ll be

able to choose from a range of original proficiency tests across Maths, Science, English and Languages from Years 7-10.

1. Select from either a Proficiency Test or an original NAPLAN-style test 3-5min

You’re able to set a test for all of your class, or just specific students.

You can automatically generate a unique code, which students will

need to access the assessment.

2. Students login to Education Perfect, and enter their unique code to access the test you’ve set them approx 30min

You’re able to monitor what students are doing, solving many of

the security concerns schools face with online testing.

Students can use a computer or mobile tablet (Apple or Android

devices are both supported) to sit the proficiency test.

Students must be in full-screen mode to set the test. You are

automatically notified if they are not in full-screen mode and you’re

able to monitor what students are doing, from your own computer.

3. Once students have completed the assessment, you’ll be able to access a wealth of data and insights. (You can) Analyse strengths and areas of development at both a class and individual level <1min

Students will automatically be emailed their grade and they can view

their results once you’ve finalised their mark.

4. Set the recommended activities 3-5min

One of the most powerful elements of Proficiency Testing on

Education Perfect is that all questions in the tests are linked

to recommended Smart Lessons. As the tests identify areas of

weakness for each student, they’ll automatically be directed to

scaffolded lessons which work towards mastery of each topic area.

Congratulations!In less than 45 minutes you’ve managed to set a proficiency test, analyse the results, and then assign

each student a programmme of work, targeting their weaknesses to drive positive learning outcomes.

Frequently asked questions• Which subjects are available?

There are original tests for Years 7-10 students across Maths,

Science, English and Languages (Chinese, French, German,

Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Spanish).

• How soon can I see students’ results?

All tests are automatically marked with results available once you are

ready to finalise the assessment.

• What are Smart Lessons?

Smart Lessons start with introductory slides so students gain a

good understanding of the topic before it’s taught. Rich images and

videos break down difficult concepts and give students a thorough

understanding of the topic. Smart Lessons scaffold a student’s

learning right up to higher-order thinking skills.

• Are there any security measures in place to prevent cheating?

Yes, in fact you’re able to digitally monitor what each student is doing

during the test. This monitoring system is proprietary technology we

developed for the NZQA pilot assessments in 2015.
