Analysis of qualitative data completed. One article in press and one in review. "A Longitudinal Investigation of Perceived Stress Patterns in Preservice Student Teachers and First

Year Teacher Educators" By the end of the 1996-1997 academic year, all data collection was complete. All data has been collected and entered into a data base. This research is now being analyzed and should yield at least five research presentations and five research articles. The data is very rich. The focal topic of each research presentation and article will be (titles may change as the research progresses!):

1) "Forecasting Curricular Change in Field Experience" 2) Student Teaching, The Gateway to a New Profession 3) First Year Teaching: The Things No One Told Me! 4) From Preservice Student Teachers through First Year Educators: The

Effect of Students’ Perceptions on their Professional Development. 5) Stress Ratings from Preservice Teacher through First Year Teacher: Is it

became necessary for me to take a leadership role and create many original materials to enable the Professional Development School program to progress smoothly with a minimum of communication errors. By developing and coordinating the materials and activities listed below, the Vaughan/Kennesaw Connection developed a professional working partnership.

• color coded name tags to identify the KSU student and indicate the specific level of the student, i. e., Introduction, TOSS, or Student Teacher. Developing these name tags supported the safety of students at Vaughan and helped identify our KSU students to Vaughan faculty.

• newsletters to the Vaughan faculty from the KSU students that related their thanks and some fond memories.

• a data base of all the teachers at Vaughan and the level of student they wish to work with during each quarter of the academic year. This information helped eliminate burn-out of the classroom teachers and assured our students were placed in rooms where they were wanted.

• in conjunction with the Vaughan PTSA, a media training session was developed for all KSU students who come to Vaughan. This training session took about two hours and instructed the students as to the proper use of the laminating machine, overhead projectors, opaque projectors, copy machines and other pieces of equipment the students would use as a part of their role in the classroom. A small sticker was attached to each student’s name tag after they completed the training session. KSU students were not allowed to operate the equipment until they were trained. This process greatly reduced the number of repairs needed to media equipment.

As change in my position became a possibility, I developed several procedural manuals so my ECE

colleagues could continue the work I had begun in the ECE department.

• I created a procedural manual for the job of TOSS coordinator and organized all the materials

needed to make the job efficient and work smoothly.

• I created a procedural manual for the Environmental and Cultural Standing Committee and once

again organized the materials in a manner that should have been helpful.

• I created a procedural manual for ECE student orientation and organized a crate of the

materials that were typically given out at these orientation sessions.

• Along with the materials was an organization chart that presented a faculty cycle of

presentations at the ECE student orientation. By using the chart no faculty member was required

to give an excessive amount of time to these meetings.
