Professional Certificate in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Pathway to Leading Lean Six Sigma practitioner Aims and Objectives Lean Six Sigma Black Belt leaders are the key change agents within an organization, facilitating improvement, leading successful teams and accelerating results-oriented initiatives. This programme aims at preparing for developing the students’ professional knowledge as Qualified Lean and Six Sigma practitioner – Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Six Sigma Black Belt. It is designed to train up students to have a thorough understanding on Lean and Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. He/She would be capable of implementing quality improvement projects and solving quality problems. Successful graduates of this programme will be qualified to enroll in the Professional Diploma in Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Programme Features The programme is developed according to the syllabus of world class associations - International Six Sigma Council (ISSC) and American Society of Quality (ASQ). This is a unique programme with a mix of Quality Management, Lean and Six Sigma Process Improvement. This programme is developed for quality professionals who wish to advance their career. The programme is taught by Lean and Six Sigma practitioners. Students will learn the real world application cases in class. Professional RecognitionGraduates can apply for "Certified Six Sigma Black Belt" certification assessment to achieve the professional six sigma status granted by the International Six Sigma Council (ISSC). Graduates also have the opportunity to apply for exemption of the written examination component of certification for "Certified Six Sigma Black Belt", with examination results up to satisfactory score determined by ISSC. More information will be available to students towards the completion of this programme.

Assessment and Award Assessment is based on a combination of coursework and examination.The overall passing mark of each module is 50% (including both coursework and examination). Participants must pass both coursework and examination for each module and achieve a minimum of 70% overall attendance in order to obtain the certificate.

Course fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferrable, except for unsuccessful application.

Continuing Education Fund (CEF)This programme has been included in the list of reimbursable courses for Continuing Education Fund purposes. Admission RequirementsApplicants should meet the following criteria:a) Holders of the HKDSE examination with Level 2 or above in 5 subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language with at

least 3 years of work experience; or

b) Holders of the HKALE with grade E or above in 2 subjects with at least 3 years of work experience; or

c) Holders of a post-secondary certificate at QF level 3 or equivalent plus at least 1 year of work experience; or

d) Mature applicants at the age of 23 or above plus at least 2 years of work experience in relevant areas such as Six Sigma, Quality Management and Lean Management.
