One day seminar on '' Rapid Population Growth & the Role of Stake Holders” was arranged on 30th January, 2019 at IPH. Mr Hanif Khan Pitafi, advisor on health to

Chief Minister, Punjab graced the seminar as chief guest. Dr Zarfishan Tahir, Dean IPH, in her welcome note emphasized the need for such seminars and the role that

IPH can play in dissemination of knowledge to health care personnel and awareness to community on different Public Health issues. A short film prepared by IPH on the

role of different stakeholders in health was showcased on the event which was followed by a presentation by Dr Rukhsana Hameed from the MCH Department of IPH

highlighting the consequences of rapid population growth. Guest speakers from public, private & NGO sectors stressed for profound & coordinated efforts from all

quarters to bring betterment in the health indicators of Punjab.Chief Guest in his address congratulated the faculty of IPH for organizing a useful seminar for all sections of the society. He reaffirmed the commitment of present

government to address this issue and shared the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan with the audience. A large number of participants including post graduate and under

graduate students, representatives from NGOs, Academia, UN agencies, media & corporate sector attended the seminar. Certificates were distributed by the chief

guest. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr Farida Nasir. Faiza Rabbani

IPH Joins Green Pakistan Movement

Being a prime public health institute, IPH Lahore understands the importance of environment friendly activities including plantation of trees. As a token of contribution towards green Pakistan, IPH held a plantation ceremony on 11 January 2019. The chief guest was the President of Lahore Press

Club, Mr. Arshad Ansari. He was accompanied by other journalists including Mr. Khalid Farooq and Mr. Dawood Khalid. Dean IPH, Prof. Dr. Zarfishan Tahir welcomed the guests and the staff of IPH. The plantation was followed by an awareness walk by the participants. Mahmood Akhtar Mian

IPH Announces Post Graduate Admission for The Academic Year 2019-20

IPH Lahore has announced post graduate admissions in MPH, MMCH, MHM and MPhil Community Medicine for the year 2019-20. The forms are available on the IPH website ( ) as well as on the official www.iph.punjab.gov.pkfacebook page (https://www.facebook. com/pg/ IPHLahoreOfficial/photos/?tab=album&album_id=2282863798655308). The last date for submission of the application has been changed to 15 March 2019. The admission processing fee of Rs. 2000/- will have to be submitted through a bank draft in the name of IPH Lahore. IPH Conducts Refresher Training of Master Trainers Regarding Dengue Prevention & Control In Collaboration With DGHS Punjab

A refresher training of master trainers on dengue prevention and control was held in the Auditorium

th thof IPH Lahore from 11 January to 18 January, 2019. This joint venture of DGHS Punjab and IPH Lahore spanned over 7 hours a day and addressed all districts of Punjab. A total of 354 master trainers were trained who are now expected to conduct training in their respective districts. The trainers included Prof. Dr. Zarfishan Tahir (Dean IPH Lahore), Dr. Saeed Akhtar (AD EP&C), Dr. Anjum Razzaq (Epidemiologist IPH),

Dr. Aamer Aslam (Manager Operations EP&C), Mr. Asif Mahmood (Entomologist IPH), Mr. Shahzad Hassan (Assistant Entomologist

EP&C), Mr. Hassan Farrukh Sultan and Mr. Salman Shabbir from PITB and Mr. Afzal Shahid (Senior Law Officer and Dr. Saeed Akhter DGHS Punjab). Anjum Razzaq
