sibl conducts seminar and events for the benefit of its members and associates. Many relevant topics are the focus of the sibl seminar series, below is the listing since the last buildnews issue. We encourage all members to take advantage of the reduced rates offered to sibl individual Members and enterprise Member staff.

be educated, be informed, be prepared and be one of the hundreds of people annually benefitting from sibl’s seminars with the latest information on the fast changing built environment industry in singapore.

The Business Mission Trip to Warsaw, BUDMA@Poznan and bialystok, Poland was an eye opener for me as part of the singapore delegation with representations from sibl, government agencies (international enterprise singapore & Housing development board) and the private sectors. the business Mission led by President Peter Chua and director Henry tee started from 29th Jan’18 and ended on 4th feb’18.

on arrival at Warsaw, we were first greeted by department of Construction sector, followed by meetings with Polish investment and trade agency, Ministry of infrastructure, and finally, Ministry of investment and development including briefing on Central transportation Hub. these meetings were great learning for the group about the Polish construction sector and the many opportunities to participate in some upcoming infrastructure and built environment projects.

from Warsaw, we travel to Poznan, the budMa international fair Hub. at the budMa opening Ceremony, we were honoured to meet two ministers – Minister of infrastructure (Mr andrzej adamczyk) and Minister of investment and Development (Mr Jerzy Kwiecinski). In fact, the Minister of investment and development later witnessed the Memorandum of understanding (Mou) signing between sibl and PeCC (Poland eastern Construction Cluster). PeCC invited a number of PeCC’s members to meet us, namely, so easy, Window Vikking, Porta doors and doors Cal. at the end of day one, the industry network dinner provided opportunity for networking and we were also treated with a live concert.

The second day at BUDMA@Poznan, the group delegates was given a customised guided tour, followed by meeting with the deputy Marshal, Mr Maciej sytek at the Marshal office of the Wielkopolska region. at the same office, we also met up with the Wood technology institute and the Polish economic Chamber of Wood industry. it was another fruitful session with discussion on possible cooperation with the Marshal office of the Wielkopolska region.

on our way to back to Warsaw, we visited izodom 2000 Polska on “energy saving & passive houses”. the next day, on our way to bialystok, we visited a number of factories planned by PECC including Keylite Roof Window Polska and KAN-therm ‘system piping’. A welcome industry networking dinner with special guest, Mr rafal rudnicki, deputy Mayor of City of bialystok. the dinner was hosted by 13ViP 4 homes & kitchen, and the group have a wonderful time enjoying the special cuisine prepared by Michelin Chef including sharing of cross-cultural between Polish and asean.

SIBL’s Enterprise Member, Sphere Exhibits and KADIN Jakarta Pusat, an alliance of sibl, jointly organised the BuildTech Series in Jakarta.
