New Line Cinema is related to mostly thriller and horror movies, however has also been involved in other genre of films such as Hairspray, which falls under the Musical, Romance and Comedy genres.Because New Line Cinema is usually connected to thriller/horror films it would be a good idea to choose this production company for our thriller film. However we may not choose this production company because most of their films are quite high budget.

Castle Rock Entertainment- When Harry Met Sally… Misery The Shawshank Redemption Miss Congeniality The Polar Express Castle rock entertainment has produced various films of different genres. ‘Misery’ for example is a thriller however ‘When Harry Met Sally’ is a romance/comedy/drama. Castle Rock Entertainment could be an ideal choice for a production company although its films are quite diverse in terms of genre. This company has in the past films had quite a high budget with popular renowned films such as the polar express. Because the films they produce are quite well known and also varied when talking about genre, this would be a good company to choose. We would want our film to look quite professional and so a high budget production company would be suited to our film.

Fox Searchlight Pictures is a film division of fox studio 20th Century Fox, it’s a large company altogether and has a high budget so if a professional film is required then Fox searchlight pictures would suit our film very well. Their highest gross film was The Full Monty, which isn’t a thriller along with most of the other films they’ve released, for this reason Fox Searchlight Pictures would not be a suitable production company to choose.

As a group we decided to use Castle Rock Entertainment to represent our film. Its quite well known and high budget, which is suited for our film if we want it to look professional. There have been different genres of films that Castle Rock Entertainment has represented including thrillers, so therefore it’s a good production company to choose.
