Choosing a name for our production

company...

Asylum productionsWhy did we choose to use this name?

We had already decided that the sub-genre of our horror trailer would be ‘home invasion.’ Which is why the word asylum felt appropriate. Asylum

connotes to negatives things such as being trapped, away from society, the idea of the ‘other’ and being different from the norm. Having this name

come up as the trailer begins will immediately let the audience know that this is a horror trailer.

The name asylum could be paired with one of the following...• pictures• entertainment• films•productions

We chose to use ‘productions’ as it sounded most professional in our opinion and went well with the word ‘asylum.’

Choosing a font...

Using ‘da font’ we chose a few different fonts which we thought suited our production company name best...

These are the fonts which we had to

choose from for the word ‘asylum.’ We narrowed it down to three fonts then chose the final on by taking a vote from our target audience and

gaining feedback which helped us.

Also using ‘da font’ we chose some fonts for the word ‘production’ to make the logo complete...

These are the two we decided to choose from. They are very similar in style. For the word ‘productions’ we decided to opt for a much more simplistic font in comparison to the one used for the word

‘asylum’ so as to keep that the main focus.
