PKBU-MK MODERNIZED POLYMER-CONTAINING BALLAST UNIT
PKBU-MK unit is the most common model of the ballast unit which consists of two tanks and two weight bands and is used in assembly with two rigid brace frames. The unit is mostly used to ballast main pipelines with a diameter up to 1420 mm inclusively: these include heat-insulated pipelines and pipelines being rebuilt and repaired in complicated conditions on flooded and marshy lands.PKBU-MK key feature is no contact of the metal frame with the pipeline insulation coating. PKBU-MK design is protected by Russian Federation invention patents and allowed to be used for the above mentioned purposes.

POLYMER-CONTAINING BALLAST UNIT – MODERNIZED DOUBLED PKBU-MKS
The PKBU-MKS unit is the modernized doubled structure which consists of two tanks connected with the weight bands and is used with two rigid brace frames and designed to ballast the pipeline with a diameter from 530 mm to 1420 mm inclusively, including the heat-insulated pipelines and pipelines being constructed and rebuilt in complicated conditions on flooded and marshy lands. The PKBU-MKS unit is installed on the main pipeline in the trenches in accordance with the requirements of the relevant regulatory documents. The PKBU-MKS unit is manufactured as the UKhL1 climatic model according to GOST 15150 and allowed to be operated at an operating temperature from minus 60°C to plus 40°С. The design of the PKBU-MKS polymer-containing ballast unit has been protected by the patent of the Russian Federation.

PTBK FRAMELESS TEXTILE POLYMER CONTAINER UNIT
The PTBK frameless textile polymer container unit is designed to ballast main pipelines when the linear portion of the pipeline laid in the flooded land is constructed, rebuilt and overhauled when crossing any types of marshes and frozen soils.The PTBK units are installed with a crane on the pipelines with a diameter from 219 mm to 1420 mm inclusively, in the trenches with a profile developed in accordance with SNiP-42-80, Paragraph 3.2, with a minimum bottom width equal to 2.2 diameter of the pipeline to be laid and a depth exceeding the ballasted pipeline by one meter and more.The PTBK unit is operated at an ambient temperature from minus 60°С to plus 40°С. The climate category is UKhL1, according to GOST 15150. Only mineral soil without any peat or snow with a minimum density of 1.4 t/m3 shall be used to fill the containers.The PTBK frameless textile polymer container units are filled with a portable feed hopper.

The UBO-UM weight consists of two ferroconcrete blocks with protective pads made of polymer rockshield (SLP) and two pairs of soft connecting belts (MSP) made of technical textile (or woven bands) with a minimum designed safety margin of 4; the bands hold the ferroconcrete blocks on the pipeline.The climate and location category is UKhL1, according to GOST 15150.

The UTK weights are designed to ballast the pipelines with a diameter from 325 to 1420 mm inclusively, when crossing rivers and other water barriers. The kit includes: 2 ferroconcrete semi-rings; 4 or 6 pins; nuts and washers, depending on the pipeline diameter. Lining is required to protect the pipeline insulation from damage.

PIPES WITH CONCRETE BALLAST COATING
The steel pipes with a diameter from 219 mm to 1420 mm inclusively, with CONCRETE BALLAST COATING are designed to construct buried subsea pipelines (gas pipelines, oil pipelines) and pipelines laid in the water-saturated soils (marshes, river valleys, etc.). In terms of design, the ballast coating is a cement and sand solution pumped into the cavity between the steel pipe with external anti-corrosion coating (polyethylene, polypropylene, epoxy) and a jacket in an annular pipe structure.The coating thickness varies depending on the pipe diameter, pipe laying conditions and pipe purpose.

EROSION CONTROL STRUCTURES
The textile erosion control container (KP) is designed to restore the water-worn bottom profile and near water line areas on submerged pipeline crossings. The KP is filled with soil with a feed hopper and is a tank with a sewed-in hose and two weight elements. The KP is manufactured from the high-duty and time-proof TBG textile. The KP is operated at an ambient temperature from minus 60°С to plus 40°С. The climate category is UKhL1, according to GOST 15150.

In terms of design, the KP-R diamond-shape erosion control container is a tank with the sewed-in 'neck'. The tank is provided with two 'weight elements'. DOUBLE-TWIST MESH GABION STRUCTURES
The RENAULT PADS are factory-built 3D mesh structures of the mattress-mat type with a low height, width of 2 m and length up to 6 m; they are made of double-twist wire mesh with hexagonal cells and used to cover soil when erosion-control structures are being constructed. A sample of gabion structure record in other documents and when ordering, depending on the wire diameter and coating type, is given below: 'The Renault pads – 4х2х0,3-с80-2,7-TsAMM (a mattress-mat structure with the following dimensions: length of 4 m, width of 2 m, height of 0.3 m with diaphragms, made of double-twist mesh with a cell dimension of 80 mm (С80) based on a Galfan coating wire with the diameter of 2.7 mm). The gabion structures are used in road construction, industrial and civil engineering, for engineering protection and natural landscape restoration.The structures are designed to protect, stabilize and reinforce soils against erosion, to reinforce soils and slopes, including landslide and water bank slopes, to construct retaining walls and protection structures against rockfall, snow slides, and mud streams, to provide flood-control structures, landscape rehabilita-tion works and for other purposes, including these in the areas with high seismic activity.The gabion structures are flexible, permeable and all-purpose and are environment-friendly.

GUIDE RINGS ARE DESIGNED: to construct crossings for the pipelines laid in protective casings under roads and railways and other engineering services in all climatic zones at a temperature from minus 40°C to plus 50°C. Guide rings are manufactured only from the materials that ensure design integrity within the whole temperature range.

PROTECTIVE DIELECTRIC RINGS are designed to protect the surface insulation coating of the steel or polyethylene pipeline dragged through the contain-ment of the underground (submerged) crossings over natural and manmade barriers when constructing new pipelines and repairing the existing pipelines.The monolithic ring segment is fabricated from nylon, the PA-6 synthetic construction material.The rings must meet the specific safety, reliability and time-proof requirements.The SPACER ring design does not include metal parts contacting with the pipeline and thus excludes any possibility of corrosion center formation and pipeline damage.The structure consists of segments easily mounted by bolting directly to the pipeline surface.The number of segments in the ring depends on the pipe diameter and can be normalized for a pipeline with a diameter from 57 mm to 1420 mm.

SLP TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Polymer rockshield (SLP) is designed to protect the insulated surface of pipelines with a diameter up to 1420 mm inclusively, when the pipelines are laid in rocky and permafrost soils with sharp fractions and in mineral soils with inclusions of land waste, pebbles and unconnected masses of rocks. Two types of the rockshield are manufactured: Type 'O' – standard and Type 'U' – reinforced. The rockshield is the structure manufactured by means of one-way lamination of non-woven synthetic material with polyethylene or other replacing polymer material allowing reliable fixation of the polymer layers (both non-woven and solid) followed by perforation.
The SLP design meets the following principle requirements: 1. Environment friendliness;2. Simplified pipeline lining process;3. Simplified transportation and storage processes;4. No limitation for cathode control.
The SLP rockshield has been protected by the RF patent and granted with the ecological certificate.

NEFTEGAZ profiles are designed to protect the pipeline external surface when the cast iron and/or ferroconcrete weights are installed and to protect the pipeline insulation from mechanical damages when the pipeline is dragged through the casing of the underground/submerged crossing in a complicated territory.
NEFTEGAZ profiles can be used as lining mats under supporting structures and pipeline valves.
NEFTEGAZ profiles considerably decrease the lining time, ensure integrity of the pipeline insulation coating and prolong the service life of the submerged crossing. The profile materials are non-putrescible, suitable for use in aggressive media, environmentally safe, have no harmful impact on the environment and can be used in fresh potable water reservoirs.
NEFTEGAZ profiles are used to construct, reconstruct and repair the pipelines with a diameter from 159 mm to 1420 mm inclusively, in all of the climatic zones at an operation temperature for the steel pipelines from minus 40°С to plus 70°С.

GM GEOMATRIX is designed to increase the bearing capacity (due to reinforcing)of the roadbed sub-base of various engineering structures (roads, passages, grounds, etc.), to reinforce banks and slopes (cones, dams, roadsides, etc.), and to be used as elements of erosion control and protective structures and to reinforce weak sub-bases in various climate zones. The GM GEOMATRIXis used in road construction, oil and gas facility construction (to construct, repair and reconstruct upstream, midstreamand downstream oil/gas facilities and other industrial objects). SOIL MODULES (GP 1500) are cellular structures to be filled with local soils, including silty-clayed or icy soil.They are made of technical textile bands with a design width and various cell dimensions; variations of these parameters allow the required subsoil bearing capacity, depending on dynamic loads.
GP-1500 are used to build the manmade trenches for the pipelines with a diameter of 1420 mm, laid on the daylight surface (GP-1500T), to construct road dirt fill foundations (GP-1500D), and soil conservation structures (GP-1500E). For the said purposes the technical textiles with various design characteris-tics are used, depending on the operation conditions and structure purpose.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL POLYMER GRID (GW)
GEOGRID is an easily mounted 3D polyethylene cellular structure which is put together as a honeycomb structure. The cellular structures are formed from the high-tensile polymer band by thermosonic welding of polyethylene.The polymer band is inert to environment. The standard sections of the GEOGRIDS may consist of several dozen to several thousand cells. The sections are put together with galvanized steel clamps and stapler. The whole structure is fixed inside the soil or on the ground by means of the anchor system and may be additionally reinforced with nylon ropes. The filled cells work as a semi-rigid plate redistributing the load and ensure improved structural strength and longer service life.
GEOGRIDS is a packaged technology to prevent structure displacement, sag and cracking, as well as washing-out and erosion; to control frost boil inevitab-le in the silty soils and; and to drain excess water. GEOGRIDS allow considerable decrease of the bank thickness due to reinforcement and active usage of local construction materials, including wastes and soils.
GEOGRIDS are used to reinforce road foundations, to build road dressing and provide the bearing layer for various sites and foundations placed on soft soils; to protect the water-passing systems, berths and embankments from washing-out; to control soil erosion of the bridge cones and pipeline outlets; to hold the fertile soil on steep slopes; and to build 'green' retaining walls. In addition to improved strength characteristics of the earthwork structures and drainage systems, GEOGRIDS allow naturally smooth and aesthetically perfect lines when managing landscape. PENOPLEX – EXTRUDED POLYSTYRENE FOAM
PENOPLEX material is increasingly used for thermal insulation of gas and oil pipelines in the Far North.
The pipe insulation allows switching from above-ground and semi-buried pipelining to fully-buried (trenched) pipelining and, therefore, minimizing the pipeline thermal impact on the permafrost soils in the Far North. It helps prevent soil thawing and possible pipeline deformation. It should be mentioned that PENOPLEX reduces in half the earthworks required for sand filling, as well as shortens the construction time and prolongs the life cycle of the gas pipeline.
The high strength characteristics of PENOPLEX ensure reliable protection of pipelines from mechanical damages, including the damage caused by sharp rocks. A typical case is the construction of the Blue Stream Pipeline where the segments made of the extruded polystyrene were used to protect the pipeline in the active tectonic fault areas. The protection preserves the pipeline waterproofing and minimizes effects of a possible earthquake.
