A corporate group with
tradition
For over 100 years, the owner-
managed GU Group has been
fascinated with the opening,
swinging, closing and locking
of windows and doors. Techni-
cal innovations and continual
development of architectural
hardware technology have and
will continue to shape forces
in the market, setting new
standards and trends for the
future.
The Gretsch-Unitas Group
The corporate group consists
of more than 50 manufacturing
and distribution companies
in 35 countries. With the
internationally leading brands
GU (architectural hardware),
BKS (locks, locking systems)
and FERCO (architectural
hardware), the group off ers
"securing technology for you".
Corporate group product
overview
In its window technology, door
technology, automatic entran-
ce systems and building ma-
nagement systems divisions,
the GU Group manufactures
and distributes about 30,000
single items which are easy to
combine.

Skilled in the development of innovative opening mechanisms and
specialised in every method of facade opening, Gretsch-Unitas
has been a competent partner for many years when it comes to
making window visions come true.
Today, there are many requirements that window elements need
to fulfi l, such as
■ safety (risk of falling out) and security (burglary)
■ ventilation function
■ smoke and heat extraction (RWA/NSHEV)
■ heavy sash weights
Gretsch-Unitas off ers complex solutions based on tried-and-
tested standard products, which are supplemented by appropriate
new components.

for ventilation are held securely by storm-proof stays. The
additional power control feature (‘mZ‘) of hardware variants for
large and heavy elements ensures that the sash is pulled against
the gasket evenly upon closing and pushed away evenly upon
opening. Combined with the GU DKS threshold, GU-966/100 oZ
bb hardware without power control is also suitable for barrier-free
living in compliance with DIN 18025. Our Tilt&Slide hardware also

A healthy room climate is the basis for air hygiene and well-being.
The high impermeability of today's building envelopes makes
controlled ventilation necessary to prevent damage caused by
moisture and mould. DIN 1946 part 6 should be utilised to ensure
these requirements. Thanks to our humidity-sensitive ventilation
elements for installation on window, roller shutter casing and
wall, the airfl ow is constantly optimised with adjustments based
on the relative humidity. The ventilation elements can be imple-
mented, independent of frame material (PVC, timber and metal)
on sashes or frames. Retrofi tting is also possible in most cases.
Ventilation concepts can thus be individually implemented.

Access control systems
With its GU BKS Access CSP100/CSA100 or GEMOS access, the
GU Group off ers the appropriate solution for the access organisa-
tion of individual doors or doors in networked projects.
One door solution:
Everything you need for access control at a door is included in the
GU-BKS Access CSP100/CSA100: control, RFID card reader and
PIN code keypad. System programming is performed simply via
a MasterCard or a MasterPIN. No PC or additional software are
required. If needed, for example, in the case of a lost card, indivi-
dual access authorisations can be deleted easily.
Solution for several doors:
GEMOS access gives you networked access control of projects
with 100 to 10,000 access points. Open interfaces allow subse-
quent installation into existing building management systems,
even in heterogeneous networks. Data availability and data
security are ensured by the redundant bus structure and cryp-
tographic data transmission. User-friendly system operation is
performed via Internet browser, based on a web-based client/
server structure.

The GU Group off ers you reliable function with proven drive tech-
nology and attractive design, even at low installation heights.
The top door leaf profi le of the compactMaster is integrated into
the drive and concealed by the cover. Extremely slim sliding door
drives with a drive height of only 100 mm are the perfect comple-
ment to the sophisticated architecture of glass facades, helping
to emphasise the sense of space and transparency. Large bearings
and a rubber-mounted running surface ensure running smooth-
ness when closing and opening the door.
The intelligent, self-learning control with diverse connection and
setting options guarantees simple and convenient operation. All
drives are type-tested by TÜV and certifi ed in compliance with
DIN 18650. F-version redundant escape route sliding doors are
tested in accordance with the German directive for automatic
sliding doors in rescue routes (AutSchR) and suitable for use in
escape and rescue routes.
Our type-tested HM-F FT escape route sliding door off ers a new
standard in safety; it guarantees an escape route, even when

enables customised solutions in terms of function, design and
dimensions. The revolving door can be operated manually, semi-
automatically with the Push&Go function or automatically with
radar activation sensors. GGG all-glass revolving doors are not
just functional, but also extremely impressive. The minimum pro-
fi le sizes allow for maximum transparency, even with automatic
all-glass revolving doors, since the drive is located in the fl oor. For
large visitor fl ow and use in escape and rescue routes, the large-
capacity GGR revolving door is the elegant and energy-saving
entrance solution.

Swing door drives
For interior and exterior doors
turnMaster or swingMaster DTH1/DTH2
For fi re protection doors
swingMaster DTB1/DTB2
GU Automatic swing door drives provide you with modern ent-
rance solutions that are not restricted for use in public buildings.
Move interior or exterior doors easily, regardless of how large and

The GU pledge
The following Gretsch-Unitas Group hardware systems have been
successfully tested for the RC resistance class at the ift institu-
te, Rosenheim: one- and two-sash Tilt&Turn windows, one-sash
special windows such as arched and pitched windows, one- and
two-sash Tilt&Slide elements, Lift&Slide doors as well as fanlight
openers.
We now off er you the service of using these RC test results with-
out having to carry out the tests yourself. The only requirement
is your participation in a one-day, fee-based training seminar at
our headquarters in Ditzingen. This training course authorises
you to manufacture burglar-inhibiting elements and distribute
ift-tested windows and balcony-doors. You will receive a licence
agreement, a certifi cate and the system folder, "Burglar-inhibiting
windows and balcony-doors in accordance with DIN V ENV 1627-
1630". These documents enable you to manufacture window
systems that meet the European standard for burglar-inhibiting
components.
Our modular system provides you with all common window sys-
tems, opening types, glazing systems as well as mounting systems
without having to signifi cantly deviate from your own standard
systems.

GU-ServiceThe Gretsch-Unitas Group – your modern partner
The Gretsch-Unitas Group commissioned the German test
institute for construction elements, PfB Rosenheim, to perform
Initial Type Testing (ITT) on timber windows and balcony-doors
in accordance with the EN 14351-1 product standard. This was
completed successfully.
Since February 2010, only CE-marked windows and balcony-doors
may be placed on the market. As a system supplier, we are happy
to transfer the right to use our test results to you in accordance
with ITT cascading procedures. This procedure enables you to CE
mark your windows and balcony-doors in accordance with the
EN 14351-1 product standard without having to test your own
elements.
We support you in implementing your Factory Production Control
system (FPC), and instruct you in CE marking and declaration
of conformity with a one-day, fee-based training session at our
headquarters in Ditzingen. All participating companies have the
opportunity to acquire the license upon completing the training
session. This license includes the system folder "CE marking for
timber windows and balcony-doors", enabling you to manufacture
window systems in accordance with the performance characteris-
tics set forth by the EN 14351-1 product standard.
