Product Portfolio construction
a broad range of products
Welcome to Dow Wolff Cellulosics !
Dow Wolff Cellulosics was created as a new
business unit, encompassing the activities of
what were previously Wolff Walsrode AG and
The Dow Chemical Company’s Water Soluble
Polymers business. Joining these two entities
together into Dow Wolff Cellulosics allows us to
capitalize on the strengths of both organizations
and deliver a reinforced portfolio of products
and services to the worldwide end-use markets
on cellulosics and other key chemistries for
enhanced performance. Dow Wolff Cellulosics
is a preferred development supplier and
application development specialist in the
cellulosics industry, catering to the changing
needs of formulators and brand owners whose
label claims are enabled by Dow solutions.
Our combined business portfolio is based
on strong manufacturing capabilities that
are among the most advanced in our sector,
innovative research and development, and
knowledgeable, highly qualified specialists.
As a market leader in cellulose ether polymers,
Dow Wolff Cellulosics offers a broad spectrum
of products and solutions for construction
applications, which include both cellulose ethers
and redispersible latex powders.
We are a Cellulosics application specialist.
We deliver value creating products and solutions.
We enable end-use product functionality.

the versatile characteristics of WaLOceL™ m, metHOceL™ cellulose ethers,
ceLLOsize™ Hydroxyethyl cellulose and DOW™ Latex Powders (DLP) offer
a number of beneficial effects for building materials. considerable features of our
cellulose ether polymers include:
• rapid build-up of a temperature-stable high water retention capability
• selective consistency adjustment for easy workability
• selective control of rheology for improved workability
• stabilization of air voids
• improved substrate adhesion for building materials
Low addition rates are typically sufficient to obtain the desired effects such as
smooth workability and sag resistance, provided the appropriate WaLOceL™ m,
metHOceL™ cellulose ethers and ceLLOsize™ Hydroxyethyl cellulose grade
tailored to the specific field of application is used. a series of tables contained in this
brochure lists product recommendations for:
• tile adhesives and tile grouts
• Fillers, levellers and joint compounds
• reinforcing & bonding mortars for external thermal insulation
composite systems (etics)
• Gypsum and cement based plasters
• Dispersion bound systems
Our current product portfolio is outlined at www.dowwolffcellulosics.com.
