Ordering GuidelinesIn an effort to provide the best service possible to you, below are some helpful tips to use when placing orders. Hopefully this information will assist in making the ordering and shipping process as easy as possible for all parties. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, concerns or thoughts you may have regarding these procedures.

Full TruckloadBased on 18 to 24 pallets, depending on product weight. Balance item required. Multi-truck level accounts of four or more truckloads — a total bale/bag required can be ordered and split into required number of trucks based upon weight. Final truck will be revised to meet as close as possible the total required bales/bags.

Half TruckloadBased on 9 to 12 pallets, depending on product weight. Balance item required.

Balance ItemRequired on either a half or full load to maximize the number of pallets. This would be the item that you can either take more of or less of, as weight allows. While we will always maximize the number of pallets we can legally load on a truck, we cannot guarantee a specific quantity due to product and/or truck weight. Please note Custom Mixes cannot be used as a balance item.

Place Orders in AdvanceDuring the busy seasons, product demand increases, the availability of trucks decreases, and the increase in production demand poses a challenge for the industry. Flexibility on delivery dates is very helpful (i.e. "deliver week of" or "deliver between the 1st and 15th of month" is much easier than a specific date).

Transportation SurchargePlease inquire the current Transportation Surcharge at time of order. This amount can change based upon the current situation. (Currently, there is no surcharge in place).

Stop FeeAll less-than-full truckloads will be charged a $50 stop fee.

Flatbed-Only RequirementWhen a customer requests "Flatbed-Only" for delivery of baled mix, peat moss or bagged mix, a $200 charge will be added to the order. Flatbed-only requirements cannot be guaranteed and can only be fulfilled when equipment is available. Should you require a flatbed-only delivery, it is best to place your order in advance as much as possible to allow for flexibility on delivery times. There is no fee for flatbed delivery of Canadian soils to the New England territory.

"Chimney Stack" PalletsThe standard loading practice is to "chimney stack" pallets when necessary to optimize space, as well as assist in securing the load during transport. If you require pallets to be loaded in any other manner, this needs to be advised when placing order.

Delivery NoticeDelivery notice will be made the day prior to delivery. Should additional time be required, this needs to be ad-vised at the time you place your order. While drivers do their best to meet the scheduled appointment, there are times when either weather, mechanical problems or delays at the border, etc. may affect this time. Drivers are asked to keep in contact when, or if, lengthy delays occur.

All Loads Booked As No Touch to the DriverPlease be sure to have the proper equipment and/or personnel available to unload once your delivery appointment has been set. The normal time allowed by most trucking companies is two hours. Trucks do not carry pallet jacks.

Specific Delivery ContactsShould you have specific delivery contacts (names, numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.), please be sure to share these with us at time of order placement. Directions to facilities are also helpful. We keep this information on file.

Custom Mixes (Custom Code) OrdersThere is a minimum production requirement on all Custom Mixes (Custom Codes) of: 3 pallets from Apopka, Fla.; 6 pallets from Marshall, Texas & Anderson, S.C.; and 12 pallets from Inkerman, New Brunswick & Vassar, Manitoba Canada.
