Fire resistance tests to BS EN 1366-3:2009 carried out byCambridge Fire Research and independently certified by IFC.

Rated for use with any PVC-U or PVC-C pipesfrom 2.2mm to 8.1mm wall thickness, with orwithout a fire resistant backfill between thepipe and the upper part of the device.

Also useable with HDPE, ABS and PE nominal4.2mm pipes if a fire resistant backfill is used.

Suitable for use with slabs from 150mm thicknessupwards. Extension tubes are available for slabsgreater than 250mm. Not suitable for use in walls.

Please contact us before using the device withpre-formed slabs or other flooring methods.

is resistant to oil and fuel spills andfoot traffic while being easy to cutout when ready to install the pipe.

All PVC pipes manufactured according to EN1329-1, EN1453-1, EN1452-1 and EN 1566-1 with wallthicknesses from 2.2mm up to 8.1mm. Also for nominal 4.2mm pipes made from PE or ABS accordingto EN 12201-2, EN 1519-1 and EN 12666-1 or EN 1455-1 if used with a fire resistant backfill of fire foamor similar performing material topped with 10mm of VJT intumescent mastic.

Extension tubes are supplied in 1 metre lengths with a sealing cap and can be cut to length asrequired with a fine toothed saw. The required length will be the slab thickness less the150mm height of the supporting part of the cast-in device.

The HDPE casing is waterproof, resistant to oil and fuel spills andstrong enough to withstand site foot traffic while being easy to cutout when ready.

The gasket is optimised to allow easy installation and provide atight, durable seal. The pipe can be installed from above orbelow but the last movement must be upward to correctlyposition the seal.

Steel plates above and below the intumescent focusthe expansion towards the pipe to give fast gapclosure and then maintain pressure to seal thin andthick pipes quickly and completely.

The intumescent is a new formulationdeveloped for this device and provides rapidexpansion and exceptional thermal stabilityat high temperatures.

Installation must be carried out by suitably skilled personnel familiar with the correctinstallation procedures.

1) Position the device on the formwork.

2) Fix the device firmly in place.

3) Pour the concrete slab.

4) Prior to installing the pipe, cut out the lid with a jabsaw or similar tool.

5) Insert the pipe carefully from above or below. Make sure the pipe exterior is notcontaminated with any substance that could damage the gasket.

6) Ensure that last movement of the pipe is upward to set the gasket into position.

7) Check that the gasket curves upward towards the pipe.

8) If using ABS or HDPE pipe, backfill between the top of the device and the pipe with a fireretardant material topped with 10mm of VJT Fireshield intumescent sealant. This step isoptional for PVC pipes.

Installation must be carried out by suitably skilled personnel familiar with the correctinstallation procedures.

1) Position the device on the formwork.

2) Fix the device firmly in place.

3) Cut to height carefully with a fine toothed handsaw.

4) Insert the height reduction cap, VJT product code

5) Pour the concrete to the required depth. It is recommended that the cap is filled withconcrete to obtain a flush finish and a more secure fit.

6) When ready to install the pipe, remove the cap and insert the pipe carefully from above orbelow. Make sure the pipe exterior is not contaminated with any substance that coulddamage the gasket.

7) Ensure that last movement of the pipe is upward to set the gasket into position.

8) Check that the gasket curves upward towards the pipe.

If using ABS or HDPE pipe, backfill the gap between the top of the device and the pipe with afire retardant material topped with 10mm of VJT Fireshield intumescent sealant. This step isoptional for PVC pipes.
