Founded in 1904, Wandsworth have been at the forefront of technology for the built environment longer than anyone else. We began supplying a range of products into the hospital environment in the 1920’s and were the first to design and install a nurse call system in the UK in the 1950’s. The unit has been designed to offer a staff display and administration centre providing simple to follow instructions. IPiN Mobile – Nursecall on the Move

IPiN Mobile is our innovative solution that offers nurse call functionality on the move. It works as a portable nurse call station by displaying the IPiN Nurse Call screen on Android smart devices. Utilising the local wi-fi network, the user-friendly interface provides hospital staff with the ability to transfer and receive calls easily.

By providing the ability for hospital staff to transfer and receive calls, this added functionality improves both efficiency and patient experience. As an additional enhancement to the nurse call system, IPiN Mobile provides a solution in healthcare environments that require nursing staff to cover larger areas and greater numbers of patients. IPiN Mobile is a particularly good resource during night shifts.

IPiN Mobile is comprised of IPiN Smart Server and IPiN Smart Display modules.

IPiN Smart Server is a secure website system designed to allow users to manage hospital patient calls. Using Smart Server an administrator can set up calls to send directly to allocated staff via standard Android smart devices.

IPiN Smart Display is an easy to use app which enables hospital staff to receive calls which are relevant to them and as allocated by the administrator via the IPiN Smart Server.

Together IPiN Smart Server and IPiN Smart Display provide hospitals with a cost effective, easy to use and portable means of transferring and receiving calls. Enabling relevant hospital staff to act quickly and efficiently, ensuring patient safety and wellbeing.

IPiN Smart Display IPiN Smart Display is the app which is installed on the Android smart devices. Using the hospital wi-fi network Smart Display provides a remote call display list mimicking that of the IPiN Nurse Call station.

Display and functionality are immediately available at login, allowing staff to see and react to patient requirements without delay. Following the colour coding and icon style used on the nurse call station, users can quickly & easily identify and react appropriately to different call types.

New calls are instantly identifiable by an audible (or vibration) alert so that the user is notified immediately (standard HTM approved tones used).

As a safety feature, if the smart device display goes into its power saving sleep mode, the app will continue to run in the background and will continue to send audible or vibration notifications as new calls arrive.

To aid users further, the app interface:

• Lists only those calls that have been allocated to the user of the smart device.

• Auto-refreshes whenever the call list is changed and adds or deletes calls from the display as required.

• Lists each call as a coloured “bar” and includes an icon to show the call type.

• Details the location of the call.

• Lists the calls with the highest priority (sorted by call type then age) at the top of the display.

IPiN Smart Server IPiN Smart Server is a web application that runs on the Admin PC with hospital administers able to access via a web portal. The web portal provides an easy to use browser based management tool.

With the system pre-configured by Wandsworth, trained personnel can edit and update the parameters set on the intuitive screens.

Additional to the configuration options, an easily identifiable, colour coded overview of all ward calls is provided for senior nurses or management users.

For additional security, senior managers or hospital management who use the system all have individual login accounts.

The system has two distinct allocation features:

User Management• You can register individual users on

the system and assign them to one or more wards

• Users must be activated by their senior nurse or manager before they can receive calls

• Individual users are allocated calls for particular locations

Call Allocation• An Allocation grid enables senior

nurses or managers to assign Call Plans to individual nurses for particular beds

• Call Plans (i.e. a group of calls) can be pre-set as Patient, Emergency and Maintenance

• Call allocations can be at ward level or bed level

• Allocations can be changed at any time without affecting the operation of the call system

Setting a New Standard

Nurse call handsets play a vital role in the ability of

patients to effectively communicate with nurses and

other clinical staff. That is why we continually invest in

developing our handsets to ensure they provide the

latest technological advances.

Our latest handset is ergonomically designed with a curved 24mm profile, large back-lit button for ease of use and provides clear two-way speech between patient and nurse.

Designed to be backwardly compatible with existing IPiN Nurse Call systems, this capability helps reduce installation costs and provides a dynamic future proof system. In addition, an interchangeable cable reduces maintenance and repair costs.






IPiN Nurse Call Handset Several variants of our market leading handsets are available with differing levels of functionality. Each handset complies with HTM 08-03 and have a large Amber Patient Call Button that is illuminated at night. Additional functionality includes the ability for the patients to control the lighting around the bed and the entertainment system (TV or Radio) if installed. The full feature handset can also be used for speech, with crystal clear sound and the ability to communicate two-way, operating like a phone.

The handset is plugged into a wall mounted plate, or within the bedhead services trunking behind the patient. It uses a connection system that whilst capable of retaining the connector in every-day use, it will allow it to be disconnected

if the handset is pulled away from the bedhead panel. The standard cable length between the handset and the bedhead panel is 2m in length, but can be up to 4m upon request.

Ergonomically designed, it features a curved 24mm profile with a large back-lit button for ease of use and is backwardly compatible with existing IPiN systems.

All handsets are made from plastics impregnated with Anti-microbial additives and can be cleaned by using the recommended cleaning solution used within the NHS & Private Hospitals.

Nurse Call Systems for PendantsWith the vast of experience of designing and manufacturing tailor-made Nurse Call systems we also have the capability to incorporate these, in any configuration, into any manufacturer’s pendants designs.

Due to the sensitivity of the areas in which pendants are deployed, we have devised a control unit that is placed outside of the room. This allows any maintenance or repairs to be made outside of the controlled area.

Third Party Integration

We provide jack sockets on a selection of bedhead plates as standard. This allows integration with third party assistive care devices i.e. bed mats. The jack sockets available are 6.35mm and 3.5mm and are available in any required combination.

Medical Service Column (MSC)

Medical Service Columns (MSC) are ideal for situations

where there are obstacles that make horizontal trunking

difficult such as windows, doors or if a large numbers of

services are required in a confined space. By utilising

the vertical space, the column can accommodate all the

required services.

In a modern looking design, the MSC can efficiently provide containment for all medical services and is available in three different widths, and can be flush fitted or surface mounted. Designed and manufactured to the hospital exact requirements, the MSC is a popular choice for hospitals, clinics and other healthcare institutions where space is at a premium.

Gas Terminal Unit Parts All gas terminal units incorporated within the MSC configuration must be specified by the customer to ensure the correct mounting grids are supplied. HTM (Health Technical Memorandum) states that from the centre of the gas terminals to the floor must be within 900-1600mm.

When ordering a pre-piped/pre-wired MSC, the unit is fully assembled with electrical cabling and gas pipelines ready for connections of services at the top.

Each gas terminal will have its own pipe-routing that is shown on a layout drawing outlining the overall configuration of gas terminals and pipelines needed.

Note: Due to the gas pipe runs being located in the back frame, the only item that is normally mounted above a

gas terminal is a lamp bracket.

If a socket or switch module is requested above the gas terminals, this should be made known to our engineers

so allowances can be made.

Horizontal Medical Service Trunking (MST)

Medical Service Trunking (MST) is a horizontally

mounted modular containment system used within

hospital wards, theatres and treatment rooms. The

primary function is to provide containment for medical

services. The system is flexible, allowing additional

facilities to be added to meet the specific needs of

individual wards around the hospital environment.

Available as single or double banked units, flush or surface mounted, dependent on your needs. Each MST is designed and manufactured specifically to suit your individual projects requirements so whatever the size, layout or colour, our experienced designers and technicians can deliver. Standard MST comes in white (RAL 9010) 30% gloss with an anti-bacterial additive and powder coated.

QDT Containment Systems

With no visible fixing screws and a curved profile, our

QDT system carries medical gas pipes and cabling in

an aluminium trunking providing an extremely

flexible solution.

The compact system is 90mm deep and 230mm high with the width determined by the project requirements. Covered with a antimicrobial finish and available in a variety of colours including white (RAL 9010).

QDT Trunking Components The body and covers of the QDT trunking system are manufactured from extruded aluminium. Segregation of the trunking system is via barriers which are made of aluminium and PVC with the latter adjustable in position and length. Lengths of trunking are joined by pins being inserted into aligned holes with internal and external corners being fitted by the same method.

ITU Trunking SystemThe ITU trunking system is a double banked aluminium bedhead trunking system especially designed for use in areas of the hospital where extra equipment is needed. Use of the ITU eliminates the need for separate stands.

As a practical method of delivering medical gas, nurse call, data telecommunications and electrical services to the bed head with smooth curved upper and lower surfaces that enable easy cleaning.

The body and covers are made from extruded aluminium with a hardwearing finish. Internally aluminium barriers divide the services, enabling easy installation and maintenance with slimmer section available for vertical drops or horizontal runs.
