Lake Deborah Australian Lake Salt is a unique product. Naturally harvested
from a very old lake situated in an ecologically pristine environment, in the
remote regions of Western Australia.
The salt is simply harvested from the surface of the lake, screened then the
product is kiln dried. Thus the natural character and composition of the salt
remains undisturbed ensuring that its distinctive flavour is retained.
Nothing is added... nothing taken away... formed and harvested, as
nature intended.
As the salt originates from the Indian Ocean, carried on the winds of time and
is around 5 million years old, the salt crystals contain many trace elements
such as calcium, magnesium, iron and potassium, the combination of which
contribute greatly to the “finger-print” of the salt’s character essential for
human health. We believe Lake Deborah, as the source of our Australian Lake
Salt, is a jewel of nature!
As a natural fine food product, Lake Deborah Australian Lake Salt is the ideal
ingredient for every day use in the kitchen. The natural qualities of the salt
together with its distinctive mild flavour will bring out the enhanced flavour of
your cooking without overwhelming the dish.

This clean, economical high purity salt is used for water softener units in hard water areas. The salt is very high in quality with large crystal size which provides improved efficiency in the regeneration process. Non-refined product.

Green Focus:
In 2008, the WA Salt Group introduced a long term commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.

Superfine Salt
Is a high quality, refined general purpose grade of salt used in bread, small goods, quality chemical applications, biscuits and processed meat industries. Also available in iodised form.

Bubble Salt
A washed and kiln dried grade of salt with the finer crystals removed. It is typically used for bath salts, as well as oyster displays and specialty grade salt used in salt grinders.

Used in applications where salt is required for dissolving to make brine, bait, pickled vegetables and preserves.

The product is a good general purpose salt with applications in both food and industrial processing.

Our method of harvesting is one of the most truly sustainable
methods. This is because we harvest in the natural seasonal
cycles of the salt lake. The rainfall over the winter months
dissolves part of the crust of the lake. It also lifts the water
table level, bringing very old salt to the surface of the lake in
the form of brine.
The summer sun evaporates the brine, new salt crystals form
on the lake bed. When the new season’s crop of salt crystals dries, we simply scrape
50 mm from the surface of the lake.
Winter rain makes new brine. Summer sun evaporates the brine and salt crystals
form and so, the seasons repeat this entirely natural process.
