PROCEDURES Spanish 2

HANDOUTS & DO NOWIf there is a handout or worksheet, it will always be in the same place. Look there as you enter to check if there is anything to pick up.During the Do Now, sit at your desk quietly working. It will always be posted in the same place. Use the same sheet/section of your notebook for the Do Now. You will get a stamp if you are working diligently. When you get and show me 10 stamps, you will receive Extra Credit.

MATERIALS & CHECKS FOR UNDERSTANDING

If you need materials at the beginning of class, you should raise your fist and the Materials Manager will come around. Phone calls home will be made if you are consistently unprepared.During class, if I say “Fist to Five”, show me using one hand how well you understand the material on a scale of 0-5 (0 being not at all, 5 being very well). You may do this privately so long as I can see it.

TARDIES & ABSENCES

If you arrive to class after what is considered acceptable, do not ask the teacher for guidance. Go sit at your desk and quietly ask the person next to you.If you are absent, find a copy of notes in the class folder and copy it into your notes. Don’t take the class copy. You also should check the Absent Student Binder to see the PowerPoint and materials for the day(s) you missed.

GETTING YOUR ATTENTION & PAPER HEADINGS

If I need to get your attention I will say “Uno, dos, y…”; if you hear me, you should say “Tres” and watch me silently. All papers handed in must include First and Last Name, Date, and Period in the top right corner.

EXIT TICKETS & HANDING IN PAPERS

When I say “Preparanse” know that you need to clear off your desk, take out a sheet of paper and something to write with, and stop talking. This is how I will know you are ready to begin your Exit Ticket. When I say to hand in your papers, pass them to the back of the class and the Alphabetizer will pick them up. Do not turn in your paper before I ask for it. I do not want it. If you need to turn it in late, raise your hand and I will pick it up.

BATHROOM & EARLY FINISHERS

You get one hall pass per month for water or bathroom unless you have a medical note. If you want to use yours, raise your hand, ask in Spanish, and do not ask during an Exit Ticket or Test.If you finish your work early, you may read or do homework for another class or use the class computer for Duolingo. You may not use your phone or talk to the people around you.
