All banners must conform to the principles underlying in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as detailed in the Streets and Pole Banners Policy No. TS-1, which may be viewed at https://kamloops.civicweb.net/Documents/DocumentList.aspx?ID=8370. 4. Organizations wishing to reserve space must complete and submit the required written application at least two weeks prior to the installation date. Applications are accepted one year in advance on a first-come, first-served basis. 5. The reserved time allotted for banner display is one week at each location commencing and ending on Tuesdays. Pole locations are at Victoria Street and 3rd Avenue (South Shore) and Tranquille Road and Sydney Avenue (North Shore). 6. The banner must be dropped off at the City's Sign Shop located at the Public Works Yard on Concordia Way (near the north end of McGill Road) by the Thursday prior to the first booking date. 7. A City Traffic Tech will contact each organization once banners arrive to schedule an appointment for pick up. Banners must be picked up at the Development and Engineering Services Building at 105 Seymour Street within one week of the last display date. If the banner is left longer than one week, the City has the right to recycle it. Please phone prior to pick up to ensure the banner has been transferred to the 105 Seymour Street office. CITY OF KAMLOOPS

SPECIFICATIONS - VINYL BANNERS

1. Banners are to be made from flame-retardant, vinyl-coated, 19 oz. polyester. 2. The finished size is to be 4 ft. x 24 ft. (1.22 m x 7.32 m), all one piece with no seams. 3. 1 in. diameter grommets are to be placed in all four corners, a maximum of 1 1/4 in.

from the edge (reinforced corners are recommended).

3/4 in. diameter grommets are to be placed every 12 in. along the top, a maximum of 1 in. from edge.

4. Either 1/4 in. rope may be sewn in on the top and bottom of banner, or a 2 in. webbing

border may be used. 5. Batons (1/2 in. x 1 in. x 44 in.) are to be sewn into the ends of the banner and reinforced

with 2 in. webbing. 6. The banner material is to be double-folded over the rope and the batons and then sewn

in. 7. The banner is to be painted with gloss, vinyl-based ink or similar vinyl paint or vinyl

computer-cut lettering.
