Contest Procedure

1.Anycontestantunder18musthavewrittenconsentfromparentorguardianandpriorapprovalfromProPullingLeagueSafetyCommittee.Minimumageforcompetitionis16yearsold.2.Contestantmaynotbeallowedtoparticipateforemotionalorphysicalreasons.(I.e.includingdrinkingorillness,etc.)3.Onlydriverwillbeallowedonvehiclewhenitisbeingtowedordriven.Noridersontowtractorsortrackequipmentwillbepermitted.4.Drivermustbeindriver’sseatwhileengineisrunning.5.Vehiclemustbeinneutralorparkwhilehookingtoorunhookingfromsled.Drivermustalsoraisehandswhilehookingorunhookingfromsled.6.Anydriverorcrewmemberfoundundertheinfluenceofdrugsorusingintoxicatingagentsinthetrackareawillbedisqualified.Areaisdefinedas30feetwithinthetrack.7.Novideotapingisallowedcloserthan30feetfromtrackorunlessdirectedbyheadtrackofficial.8.Thefirstpullerintheclasswillhavetheoptionoftestpuller.Thetestpullermayaccepttheirdistance,comeimmediatelybackordropfive(5)positionsinthepullingorder.Thetestpullermaydroptolastformechanicalbreakage,ifvisibletothefinishlinetrackofficial.Thetestpullermustinformthetrackofficialoftheirdecisionbeforeleavingthetrack.9.Formechanicalreasonsonlyapullermaydroptolastpositionintheclass.Thisisallowedbytrackjudge’sdiscretion.Safetyequipmentdoesnotqualifyforamechanicalproblem.10.Oncetrackisreadyandcompetitiondirectorsignalscompetitortothetrack,competitorwillhavefour(4)minutestomakeameasurabledistanceundergreenflag

conditions.11.Pullermayspotthesledanywhereinboundsandbehindstartinglineiftheywish.Thismustbedonewhileslediscomingbacktothestartinglinefromthepreviouspull.Onlyonesledspottingisallowed.12.Allpullswillstartwithatightchain.Nojerkingofsledispermitted.Excessivejerkingofthesledwillresultindisqualification.13.Excessivelossofliquidwillresultindisqualification,ifvehicleisunderthegreenflag.Failuretostopwillresultindisqualification.Excessiveisdefinedasanysteadyorintermittentstreamequaltoaspotonthetrackoften(10)inchesindiameter.Majormechanicalbreakagewillnotresultindisqualification.14.Pullingwillbeconsideredoverwhenforwardmotionstops.Pullermuststopimmediatelywhenflaggedorbedisqualified.15.Anyre-pullcausedbycontestmalfunction,thepullermaydropfive(5)positionsordroptotheendoftheclass.Pullermaynotmoveanyweightorcompetitorwillbedisqualified.16.Allpullswillbemeasuredtothenearestinch,unlessalaserisused.17.Whenpossible,allcontestantsmustdriveoffandonthetrack.Towstartingwillbedoneatlastresortandundertrackjudge’sdiscretion.18.Allpullingvehiclesmustpassatechinspectionandmeetallsafetyrequirementsbeforetheycanpullatanyevent.TheProPullingLeagueretainstherighttoinspectanyvehicleatanytime.Refusalwillresultindisqualification.19.Nocompetitormaycompeteinaclass,oncetheclasshasstarted,ifarrivinglate.20.Boundarylinewillbe320’longtostartthepull,eventhoughaFullPullmayonlybe300’.Competitormaynot

touchboundarylinesatanytime.TheFullPulllinewillbeestablishedbytheHeadTrackOfficialnolessthan300feetandnolaterthanthefifthcompetitor,afterasledreset.TheFullPulllinecanbesetinfrontofavehicleevenifvehiclehasgonepast300feetateither310oramaximumof320feet.Whitedisqualificationline(s)willbe320feetforentirecontest.IfHeadTrackOfficialdeterminesafloatingfinishisneededthatwillbedecidedbythefifthcompetitoraswell.21.Whilevehicleisatscales,weighingonlyonecrewpersonallowedinscale-master’sarea.22.Onceentireshaveclosed,ChampionsTourteam-matesonly,whichwillbepredeterminedattheseason’sstart,ifhavedrawnnumberswhichmakesback-to-backhooksthesecondvehiclewilldroponepositiononthelineupsheet.Theonlyplacenotpermittedwillbethelasttwohooksoftheclass.21.Judgesdecisionsarefinal.Thereisnoappealprocess.Disagreementwillresultindisqualification.

General Rules

1.Firesuitsrequiredinallclasses,minimumofSFI3.2.Infliptopbodiedvehicleswithoutafirewallorworkingdoors,thedriverwillberequiredtowearanSFIapprovedsuit.B)Fireproofgloves,fireproofhead-sock,andfireproofshoesmustmeetSFISpec.3.3.C)AllhelmetsmustmeetSnell90minimum,orSFISpec.31.1,31.2,41.1,or41.2.2.Allpullingvehiclesarerequiredtohaveaminimumof2.5lb.fireextinguisherswhicharefullycharged.Extinguishersmustbewithinreachofdriver.3.Seatbeltsmustrequire16.1SFISpeconalldriverrestraintassembliesandbewornduringcompetition.4.Allvehicleswillhaveasafetyswitch.Thesafetyswitchwillgroundtheignitionandtheelectricfuelpumpsonsparkignitionmotorsandshutofftheairintaketodieselmotors.5.Nobatteriesareallowedinsidecabofthevehicleunless

theyareinamarinebatteryboxandsecuredtothevehicleframe.6.Allpullingvehicleswillhaveadeadmanthrottlethatwillautomaticallyreturntotheclosedposition.Throttleswillworkinareversetoforwardmotion,reversebeingclosed.7.Allpullingvehiclesmusthaveastarterinterrupterswitchthatwillallowstarterengagementonlyinneutralorparkpositiononatransmissiongearselectorformechanicalreasonsduringtheseason.8.Allvehiclesusingafootthrottlemustuseatoestrap.9.Allvehiclesusinganautomatictransmissionmusthaveapositivegearlockout.10.Driversorcrewpersonsmustbeseatedandincontrolofthepullingvehicleanytimemotorisstartedorrunning.11.Allpullingvehiclesmusthaveaneutralsafetylight.A)Awhitelightautomotivequality,aminimumof2inchesindiameter,mustbemountedwithin30inchesofhookingpoint.Andwithin6inchesofcenterline.B)Alightinthedriver’scompartmentmustbeoperatedoffthesamesystem.C)Bothlightsandthestarterinterrupterswitchwillbeoperatedoffoftheshifterlever.D)Aneuratllightshouldilluminatewhenvehicleisintheneutralposition.Lensecolorshouldbeclear.12.ProPullingLeaguereservestherighttorefuseanycompetitortherighttoattendorparticipateatanyevent.13.ProPullingLeagueassociatedgroupsorstatemaysettheirownlimitations,butmustrunProPullingLeaguesafetyrules.

Pull-offs

1.Eachcompetitorwillhavetwo(2)attemptstomakeameasurablepull.2.Inapull-offeachpullerwillhookintheorderthattheypulledinoriginalclasslineup.Nodroppingofpositionsis

allowedinapull-off.3.Ifthetrackofficialbelievesthatanerrorhasoccurredinsledsetting,pull-offmayberestarted.Inthiscase,thefirstpullermaycomerightbackordroptolast.4.Inapull-off,afloatingfinishlinewillbeusedforallcompetitors.

Points

1.ThefollowingistheProPullingLeaguepoint’sstructure.1st-50 7th-382nd-48 8th-363rd-46 9th-344th-44 10th-325th-42 11th306th-40 12th28 13th-262.Allremainingcompetitorswillreceive25pointsrespectively,ifameaurabledistancehasbeenmadeundergreenflagconditions.Ifcompetitordoesnotmakeameasurabledistancecompetitorwillreceive15points.3.Disqualificationswillreceivelastplacepointsandmoneyintheirclass.4.Eligibilityforanypointsatanyeventdependsoncompetitorpayingentryfeeandpassingtechinspection.Itiscompetitor’sresponsibilitytohaveatechofficialinspecttheirvehicle.5.2/3ofaclasspresentedshallmaketheclassofficial.6.Whenaclasshasbeenofficiallypresented,butmustbecalledoffbecauseofanyreason,thepurseandthepointswillbesplitequallyforallcompetitorsbasedonthenumberofentriesintheclass.7.Pointsmustbeobtainedbyvehicle.Ifframe,body,and/ordesignchangesformechanicalreasonsduringseason,orownershipchangesduringtheoff-season,mustbeapprovedbytheProPullingLeague.

8.Norainoutpointsisawardedifentriesdonotopen.

Rules Violations

1.Anyfirsttimeviolationwillresultindisqualificationfromthatevent.2.Secondtimeviolationforthesameinfractionwillresultinseasonlongsuspension.3.Ifthereismorethanonedisqualificationinaclass,thelastavailablemoneywillbesplitequallyamongthosedisqualified.4.Anyonesuspendedwillnotbeallowedinthetrackorpitareaforthedurationofthesuspension.Ifvehicleissold,vehiclewillbeallowedtopull,butsuspendedpartymustnotbeinvolvedwithvehicleinanyway.

Reasons for Disqualification

1.Outofbounds,thisisdescribedasanypartofthepullingvehicletouchingthewhiteboundaryline.2.Lossofweightundergreenflag.3.Lossorfailureofsafetyequipmentorequipmentbelongingtovehicleunderthegreenflag.4.Illegalfuel5.Lossofexcessiveliquid6.UnsportsmanlikeConduct-AnycompetitororcrewmemberdisplayingunsportsmanlikeconductatanyPPLsanctionedeventswheterverbalorphysicalwillbereasonforthatteamslossofpointsandpursefortheeventwheretheactionstakeplace.AnysecondoffenceafterofficialnotificationinwritingbyPPLOfficewillbecauseforthecompetitorandteamsuspensionforauptooneyearandtendaysfromdateofinfracton.7.Illegalequipment

Protest

1.Allprotestsmustbemadeinwritingandsubmittedandsignedwithinfive(5)minutesofclassbeingprotestedcompletion.Protestmustclearlydefinethreeitems:Whoisprotested,whattheyareprotestedfor(limitedtooneitemperprotest),andbywhoisprotesting.2.Allprotestfeeswillbeincash.A)Ifprotestedvehicleisfoundlegal,thenfeewillbeforfeitedtopersonfoundlegal.B)Ifvehicleisillegal,thenvehicleisdisqualifiedwithalossofpurse&pointsandfeeisreturnedtoprotester.3.Feeforprotestareasfollows:Cubicinch-$1,100.Completeteardown.A1%variancewillbegivenforwearandtear.$100.00fromprotestfeeforteardownispaidtotheOFFICIALinchargeoftheteardown.Remainderofteardownfeeisreturnedtoprotestororgiventoprotestedpartypendingoutcomeofteardown.4.Fuel,Visual,Turbo,performanceenhancements,etc.$5005.AnycompetitorknowinglycompetingwithaperformanceenhancingequipmentorillegalfuelsandverifiedbyaHeadTechOfficialattheeventwillbedisqualifiedforaperiodofoneyearandtendaysandincludingactionsdiscoveredbyprotests,atallProPullingLeagueeventsnationwide.Suspensionswillincludedriverandvehicle.5.Theofficialsandtheprotestedaretheonlypeopleallowednearthevehicleduringprotest.

6.Anyonecausingdisruptionduringaprotestwillbedisqualified.7.IfapullerisfoundguiltyorrefusestotearenginedownwillbebarredfromallProPullingLeagueeventsforoneyearandaday.8.TheLucasOilProPullingLeaguereservestherighttosuspendacompetitorforanyrulesviolationandwillreceivewrittennoticeinfive(5)workingdays.

Rain

1.Anyclassnotcompletedforanyreasonwillbeconsideredarainout.2.Aclasswillbeofficialwhen2/3ofthepullershavemadeapull.3.Asessionofpullingwillbeofficialif1/2oftheadvertisedclassesarecompleted.4.Ifpurseisnotpaidtocancelledclass,entryfeewillberefunded.5.PromoterandProPullingLeagueOfficialwilldetermineifaclassorsessionisarainout.

Brakes

1.Allpullingvehicleswillhaveadequatestoppingbrakes.2.Allbrakesinthedrivelinewillbeshielded360°with5/16steelor3/8aluminium,aroundthebrakecomponents.Endsmustbeenclosedinthe1/8steeloraluminium,nocastmetalpermittedtobeusedaspartofshield.3.Alltractorsand2WDtruckswillhaveworkingindividualworkingrearwheelbrakes.4.All4x4truckswillhavecompleteworkingfrontand/orrearbrakes.

1.Allpullingvehicleswillhaveawidefrontend.Frontwheelsmusttrackwithinrearwheels.

2.TractorDivisions:Afrontaxlebracewillbemandatoryforthe2010season.

Frontaxlesupporttobemadeof2.00”X.095tubingor2.00”X.120mildsteeltubingorsamematerialastractorframerails.Frontaxlesupportsshouldconnecttoeachframerailinlineandextendtowardsfrontoftractor.Frontskid/frontaxlesupportshouldhaveradiastopreventdiggingintotrack.Frontaxlesupportframeshouldbestrongenoughtosupportfrontendweightoftractor.Supportshouldhaveamaximumof4”groundclearance.
