5Important information

Please read this installation guide carefully before you start the installation. The assembly normally requires a couple of minutes.

Open the bonnet, close all doors and wait approx. 5 minutes before you start the assembly so that there is no residual current flowing on the Common-Rail-Sensor.

If the vehicle has been moved before the installation, please ensure that the engine is cooled down to prevent any burn.

The function of the blind-plug is to reset the car to its original condition (without tuning) by executing only a few steps. So please remove the RaceChip Pro 2 with ignition off and sub-stitute it with the blind-plug.

The factory setting of the RaceChip is a recommended mixture of improved power, increase in torque as well as potential fuel saving.

Due to the advanced RaceChip technology it is possible to adjust it individually to your vehicle and your driving style respectively. It is regulated by rotary control switches on the circuit board inside the casing. The corresponding instruc-tions can be found from page 8-10.

Please take care not to install the RaceChip too close to heat sources. The cable of the RaceChip is to be led downwards.

For maximum motor safety, the maintenance intervals of the vehicle manufacturer have to be observed, the oil types specified by the manufacturer have to be used and especially the oil changes prescribed by the manufacturer have to be carried out regularly while using the RaceChip.

1. Approach the car with appropriate tools. Please open the bonnet and remove the motor cover (if any).

2. Now you can see the motor block.

Look for the Common-Rail-Pipe. There‘s a 3-pin plug characterized by an oversized nut directly on this pipe.

This plug has to be a 3-pin by all means.

3. Please disconnect the 3-pin plug. Insert the plug of the cable harness into the sensor.

Remove motor cover and locate the Common-Rail-Sensor

4. Please connect the disconnected plug of your vehicle with the counter-part of supplied cable harness.

Please make sure that a clear „click“ sound can be heard when you plug the connections.

5. The cable harness is now installed. Please connect the RaceChip Pro 2 with the cable harness. The plug will only fit one way.

Finally, press the colored locking-plug into the plug.

6. Assemble the cable harness with the cable ties. An assembly to already existing harnesses will be advantageous.

8 Factory setting of your RaceChip

We deliver the RaceChip with a setting appropriate for your vehicle. This setting is the optimal adjustment of your vehicle software to the RaceChip software and perfectly combines the following points: longevity of your motor, reasonable - but not maximum - performance output as well as fuel saving.

10 Fine-tuning of your RaceChip

Rotary switch S2This rotary control switch is responsible for the duration of the performance increase, thus how long the performance increase shall be available for the rpm-range. Normally, you don‘t need to adjust it.

Rotary switch S1With this rotary control switch you can increase or reduce the power stepwise. Please only adjust the rotary control switch step-by-step.

Example: The factory setting of the rotary control switch S1 is on position „B“. If you want to increase the performance, please go to position „C“. The result is a performance increase of 1.5 % compared with the factory setting. On position „D“ you have increased the performance by additional 1.5%. Each clockwise rotation to the next position increases the performance by 1.5 %.

The RaceChip Pro 2 will be delivered with an adjustment appropriate for your vehicle. In rare cases, a too high or too low per-formance output due to manufacturer-determined serial tolerances might occur. This might likewise result in error messages on the vehicle‘s display.

However, you have the possibility to correct it easily and in only a few steps by the rotary control switch. Please open the RaceChip on the front side to make the adjustments. You require a torx T10.

11FAQ

The cable harness doesn‘t match my vehicle. By means of the installation guide please check with whether the installation position is correct. By email you should have received pictures of your motor to help with the assembly. Our technical department will certainly assist you if this is not the case. There are only 3-pin plugs in V6 or V8 motor vehicles.

I can‘t feel an improved performance. Each vehicle has certain performance tolerances determined by themanufacturer. This results in a different performance transfer from the RaceChip to the vehicle. Therefore, you have the possi-bility to adjust the RaceChip. The corresponding instructions can be found on pages 8 - 10.

An error message appears on the display of the dashboard. With installation of a RaceChip, the safety programmes (emergency program) of your vehicle aren’t switched off - this is a great advantage for you. When the malfunction light of the motor shows up on your cockpit it normally means that the Race-Chip provides too much performance. You should slightly reduce the power of the RaceChip. The corresponding instructions can be found on pages 8 - 10.
