Completing an Explanation of Items If the audit of the employer’s records results in a change, whether additional tax is due or not, the auditor must complete an Explanation of Items. The Explanation of Items form is available by clicking on the EOI icon on the Exhibit screen.

The information above the solid line is populated from the Case and Exhibit profiles. If errors are discovered, return to the profile and correct. Complete the form following current DOR guidelines. Note: Sometimes upon opening the EOI it will not be shown, but will be minimized. Access the Word icon at the bottom of the screen to maximize the form. Never leave a Word document open when exiting WinFMT.

Printing WorkPapers

Several forms are available for printing by clicking on the print icon on the Exhibit screen.

Note that at the bottom of the Print Exhibit pop up box the user can opt to either Preview the report or Print it. Additionally, the user can select whether the reports will print as Draft or Final.

Explanation of Items The Explanation of Items completed for a Change audit can be printed here. Employee Detail

This report shows a listing of the Employee Detail broken out by quarter with the total wages also shown.

This report can be sorted by SSN or alphabetically. When sorted by SSN, the first 5 digits of the SSN are redacted due to confidentiality therefore it is recommended you sort alphabetically.

Adjustment Summary This report shows a summary of all audited adjustments listed by quarter with the totals also shown.

Non RT-6 Payments This report is a listing of all of the Non RT-6 Payments that were entered.

UCS-55, UCS-55A and UCS-55B

This is the Reemployment Assistance Tax Field Audit Report. Some of this report is auto-populated with information from the Case Profile. Other fields will need to be manually completed in the Print Preview status. The report is separated into 3 sections. The first is the UCS-55.

The Reemployment Tax Payroll Posting Worksheet. All information on this form is derived from information in the exhibit. No manual entry is necessary on this form. Verify that the information has been entered correctly.

Optional Reports Two optional reports are available for RT exhibits. This information is auto-populated with audited adjustments entered in the exhibit. The first is the Payroll Detail grouped by SSN.

RT Summary

Once the RT exhibit is completed and calculated, the auditor clicks on the Worksheets and Reports tab of the WorkPapers module.

From here the auditor can either highlight and Open or double click to see the RT Summary. This report shows a summary of the As-Filed and As-Audited wage information as well as a summary of the differences by quarter.

Printing Draft vs. Final

On the Work Papers screen, just below the title bar, you can select Final or Draft status for the WorkPapers.

When Final status is selected, forms will print as Final (neither Draft nor Final appears on these forms). If Draft is selected, the program will insert DRAFT. Note: If the WorkPapers are not in a calculated state, the RT Summary will not open. Instead, an error message will appear reminding you to calculate the exhibits.
